Our emphasis during this class is Clarity of the brain. Through studying Bridget Riley, the founder of optical illusion art and the sense of sight, students are introduced to the vast complexity of their brains and how truly powerful they are when we understand and use them productively. The combination of art and science in teaching brain empowerment opens up doors to self understanding and confidence. We discuss how the brain and heart are intimately connected, what occurs physiologically when we get anxious and how we can work with our brains and breath to calm ourselves and gain Clarity. Our students understand there is no limit to what they can achieve with a better understanding of how their brain functions. S.M.A.R.T. is fortunate to have Doctors of Neuroscience Bree Soteros and Amandine Grenier from the UT Health Science Center as partners. These incredible women share their brain passion with our students, bring in real brains for us to study and are the source for solidifying brain education.
