they're called f2l tricks and yeah they do know more algs but they're even more efficient in stuff like cross planning and cross+f2l and x-crosses , the main thing which makes them fast is look ahead and its not learning 100s of algs

I'm a 35 year old knife-maker/vintage axe restorer/edge-tool sharpener/singer-songwriter, and I just got into cubing a couple of weeks ago (who says you can't teach an old dog new tricks?). I use mostly the beginner method-for now, at least-and it takes me (usually) more than a full minute to solve a scrambled cube. Despite me being entirely out of place in the cubing world, I felt it fitting to let you know that you are by far my favorite cubing channel/teacher and I turn to you for tips and technique as well as cube reviews. Keep up the great work. You are helping people who will never post a comment on your videos-like I would have been had I not felt compelled to do so now. Thank you for all your help!

I mean this in the nicest way... you're a machine! To keep the information you have in your mind and recall it in a split second seems like something a computer would do; several algorithm options.. I mean I'm lucky I can just remember full oll and pll, plus the few f2l algs I know. I can see very well how it would benefit the outcome to know more than one way to do it, but my mind just can't retain and recall that much. Awesome!

Crazy... After I learned to solve the cube for the first time almost a year ago it took 19 minutes and I wanted to look up some helpful videos on how to get faster and the first I came across was how to do the cross in 8 moves or less by J Perm. After that I fell into the rabbit hole and did all the recommended things to now be sub 25 with ease and I'm still improving I still feel as enthusiastic as the beginning, maybe even more. I took my time but I have so much fun practicing and whittling down on my pb every day. Thanks J for getting me there and even further. I want to be sub 15 this year.

On the second solve, for the x-cross, instead of doing a D2 to align the corner you could've done a u2 resulting in the back left pair being solved instead of the front right, which would help lookahead.

I haven't made a comment on a RU-vid video in years, but thought I would post to let you know how useful this type of content is. I hope you continue to make these on a semi-regular schedule (once every couple weeks?), because this type of instruction is exactly how people like me will get better. Keeping it to white cross is great, not only because it helps non-CN people but also because it teaches us how to deal with bad crosses in better ways, rather than just picking a better color and dodging that part of our learning. I also *really* like your critique videos, even though you haven't done one for a while, because "this person did X like most people, but you really should do Y" accelerates learning a lot. I know they're a lot of work, but hoping you find the energy to try again some day!

@Professor Cubes I'm pretty sure Roux is the best method for OH. 2H is different, because you can just spam RU moves when doing CFOP. Roux is definitely good considering the ratio of people who do the method and the people who are world class and do the method. If Roux had the popularity of CFOP it could be superior due to better cubers and more tricks being found. I want to get into OH also, so thats another plus.

At the beginning of the second solve, instead of making the Xcross with D2, and inserting the second pair into the front with lefty, what you could have done was u2, and insert into the back with righty, that way you have two pairs sovled into the back, and two open slots in front. Then you would have had a solve with two rotations instead of four, easier look ahead (because you wouldn't have to rotate to find the red blue pair), and a fat double sune pll skip. 38 move solution overall. I got a 6.41 first try.

@monajha24
@monajha24 Месяц назад
I have a more efficient cross solution for the first solve: Facing blue, do D2 to setup red and blue. Then proceed to insert red and blue by doing F L. Then do D' to set up green, which can then be inserted by F2 which also happens to set up orange. We can end the cross by doing R' to insert orange then doing a D2. Overall in my opinion, I'd say this cross solution is more efficient than the one J Perm did because this has better finger tricks and opens up to show more F2L pieces which can improve look ahead for the solve. (solution: D2 F L D' F2 R' D2)

Hey jperm, all the moyu weilong gts3 m are gone, should I wait for them to restock? Or buy a different one.

Devan Zummallen I’m not j perm but I would say just wait for it because it’s a really awesome cube 👍

wait for it definately, i would focus on pracicing an efficient cross, and wait on trying to break PB's. Until you are able to buy the GTS3M, learn new algs like in 2-Look OLL/PLL

Hey j perm I got pll skip by doing same x-cross in (solve 3)

what did you do at the end of the first solve instead of doing the normal OLL case?

A ZBLL which is solving OLL and PLL in one algorithm When all the edges are good in top

What OLL algorithm did you use at 10:07? I'm currently using one that has B-moves (and uses another orientation), but I can't fingertrick it efficiently.

J Perm made this: ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-3B_oB2YrLvk.html If you successfully understand and memorize the tips in this, then you can also learn look-ahead. Once you have done that keep practice F2L many times until you don't even have to think to do it. This helps?
