I just purchased a 2000 interstate model from a owner who cared for it like a baby and it runs and rides smooth and shifts is designed. I plan on treating it just like him. These bikes have amazing balance when riding big but manageable 😅
I had a nice Interstate at one point, but I missed my tourer and when I cam across a beauty, I WENT FOR IT. They are low center of gravity and very balanced. I love the way the handle through the sweepers.
It got to 103K and never had any major problems with it. It got totaled in an unfortunate crash on 2015 with my BIL riding it. He was okay, from there i picked up and Interstate that I wasn't all in love with, and then came across this really well cared for Y2K Tourer which I immediately bought and still have today.
OIl Changes, tires and brake pads. Unfortunately, this one met a sad ending in 2015 with 103K on it. Still running perfectly but I let a friend ride it and he didn't make it through a corner. He was okay but the bike wasn't.
@@srl1215 I never let anyone drive my '99 Valkyrie GL, I got it 7 years ago with 18k now it has 42k and no one has rode it but me in those 7 years save for 1 time when I let my brother in law took it around the corner a few years back. I was a nervous wreck till he returned. Since then no one. In those 7 years nothing but oil changes, plugs and tires. I'm getting ready to do more extensive maintenance like coolant change, belt change, brakes etc. Great trouble free bike. Its a legend still alive and well.
