6:52 I don’t think it is Skirk using the foul legacy transformation, in the cutscene it is evident that he has his delusion on his armour and considering his hair colour. Also it seems that his foul legacy armour has been damaged when fighting the narwhal which is an interesting detail
There's also crystals from the Abyss growing on his back suggesting 1) easiest explanation- he got attacked by the Narwhal, 2) Skirk taught him/he himself learned something new, 3) his overuse of the Foul Legacy without the counterbalance of his Vision is causing him to crystallize
Everyone is dead?? Looking back at the pre fontaine Alice Bottle quest, I think some people of fontaine were disolved and Furina/Focalors was maintining their humans forms. So she commit a sin.

i dont know if anybody noticed but the trailer literally confirms the presence of two furinas (atleast 2). 3:59 you can see the short haired furina dancing, while the long haired furina is the one we have seen all this time. Even the playable character has two different furina, if u look closely in character playthrough, you will see long haired and short haired furina in different settings of pneuma and ousia .

This trailer just strengthened my idea that Furina and Focalors aren't the same person. It very much feels like Furina is like an actress who plays the role of the Archon while the real Archon Focalors is somewhere else (possibly in the Oratrice) controlling things from behind the scenes

Skirk looks like a herscherr from honkai impact, and i cannot unsee the connection, actually a lot of the abyss powers/delusions feel a lot like the honkai energy users.
If the theory about Gnosis’ being made from the Dragons power is true, then the lines at 3:54 could be about Neuvillette getting his powers back through the gnosis as a form of justice. It would make for an interesting twist if they give the gnosis to the Fatui at the end because it could be devoid of power and they wouldn’t know.
fontaine cant afford to do that. if what we see here is true, by the end of the archon quest fontaine is either left without an archon, people, or sense of justice. they cant afford to wage war against the fatui and possibly all of snezhnaya when such heavy blows have been dealt to the nation. i do agree with the part of the power reurning to neuvillette, however. furina knows neuvillette is capable of defending fontaine, since all of the archon quests we have seen so far have had neuvillette as the focus. furina is counting on the gnosis power returning to neuvillette, to both stop the prophecy and provide fontaine with a better leader.
@@TsukinoUtokki its unlikely, since all gnosis seems to be given up for final act or near end of sheznaya, so natlan is no expection, the way it was given up for is where they varies, Venti = by force (but he really just gave it and did not fight for it), Zhongli = contract fulfillment, Yae = gave to scara for traveler's sake (the electro gnosis was already discarded by Ei for a long time), Nahida = got scara's but gave both gnosis for destroying all dottore's clone and intel for the traveler it was already confirmed in 4.1, we know that gnosis is a stolen power from 7 sovereign dragons, giving it away or return it to the original owners, means they dont agree of keeping the stolen power and it cuts their ties with celestia based on the trailer, it seems neuv will gain back his full power temporarily maybe just to save fontaine from sinking, after that probably it will be given to arlecchino well this is just my theory, that all 7 gnosis are bound to be given up for the omni element

I noticed something that Furina throughout the trial and quests was wearing the white dress but in the final performance she was in black. Does that suppose to mean something. And btw another thing is it only me who is thinking that there is not much space left in the map to put both Natlan and Snezhnaya on the west and north west side and rather there is hell lot of space towards Mondstadt and below Sumeru
This might be the first series of quests we are touching upon the Abyss and Celestia more directly. The Chasm gave us some clues but was related to the past, same with the deserts of Sumeru.
All I can say is that this quest will be the biggest one yet in the game since Genshin's lauch, well in terms of the lore. Seems like we're gonna get nuked with lore. I'm all excited🤩

i think furina is counting on her death to stop the prophecy. she loves her people more than we realize and trusts neuvillette to protect fontaine. arlecchino is trying to get the gnosis and use it to stop the trial and save both furina and fontaine, since after all, we know shes going to first use the hydro gnosis to save fontaine before giving it to the tsaritsa. masquerade of the guilty is going to be one of the best archon quests so far, and probably a very sad one as well, since we know someone is dying, whether that be furina, the oratrice, or the people of fontaine.

i think its the opposite, it's sinking into the ocean! as in the entire elevated plateau is slowly descending to match the sea level as the other nations', which causes the sea level of fontaine to rise exponentially

I think it wouldn't be fair for Furina to be punished either, it was Egeria who committed the " original sin" (supposedly finding out the truth about Celestia) not Furina however the guilt is still falling on her, as if to say, " even if you are not at fault, you are still at fault and your sacrifice will wash away this sin" (very reminiscent of Cosmo's situation in Sonic X)

A phrase from Neuvillete himself: when furina dies, the HYDRO authority would return to him, leaving him full Power. This will probably happen. (this is also revealed in his phrase about ascension to level 90)
Yeah and since the furina we know might just be a copy, the real focalors wants this as you said and is part of the indentium gathering reason. Neuvilette gets full dragon power, cleanses either the primordial sea of it's danger or maybe cleanses the people of their "sin". Which makes them no longer susceptible to being dissolved. Theres something that is KEY in removing "sin" and this is of course forgiveness.

We got the weakest drip out of all the descenders if Skirk is one too, like cmon traveler you got up your game, maybe get Hoyo to get you an alter form or something.
Imagine if Traveler got a separate form like the Foul Legacy which they only uses during extreme crisis and couldn’t use it against Unknown god due to her ambushing them and the Travelers thought they wouldn’t need the higher power form untill it was too late.

I think that focalors is the oratice with the gnosis while furina is just a powerless mascot. I think that furina has to die to merge with focalors, just like nahida had to merge with rukkhadevata.
Also another thing that was missed was in the new weekly boss fight, when we fight against that humanoid figure abyss, the place of the fight looks very similar to the Sea of Quanta that appears in Honkai Impact.

When I heard Mona's voice in the trailer I had to do a double take. MONA, in an archon quest! Been waiting for that for so long, she has so many connections lore wise that I wanna see more of her in the story
Mona study and lived in Fontaine for sometime before she come to mondstadt to find Klee mother. From that line it's seem that she is a Fontaine local which many people doubt. She might be some important in this archon quest. It's nice to see old character in the lastest archon quest. Ngl it makes me excited

After Baal and Beelzebul, we never got to learn the name of the other archons. Nahida is Buer, what’s Rukha’s demon name? Focalor is Oratrice/the old archon or Furina? Hope hoyo is intentionally keeping it a secret and not actually forget about it
Rukhadevatta and Nahida/Kusanali are the same person... She herself said so, that Nahida is her incarnation in current samsara/loop, whereare She is Nahida incarnation in the previous samsara/loop... They are the same person, from the same origin(Irminsul)...

I want to point out that since liyue the main antagonist of archon quests were fatui with no mention of abyss(with waiting annual dain drop) but this time we have fatui involvement yes but also potential of abyss involvement in a archon quest as well with Narwhale and Skirk. I cant wait, this archon quest have do much potential of lore everywhere.
So, Childe's foul legacy transformation with the starry cape is from Skirk? We now have 5 characters with starry capes. Sustainer, Paimon, Dainsleif, Guizhong, and now possibly Skirk since from what we see of her we do have some white dots signifying stars in her design and the foul legacy coming from her. And in her concepts, she originally looked a lot like Dain and with starry hair and capes and all. Looks like they were trying to go for the "this character is important to lore" look.
Despite Mona being voiced by Felicia and Navia by Brenna, their voice are incredibly similar. So I think the one who said that line about prophecy is Navia. But if it really is Mona, that would be cool, and it also ties with the whole constellation problems.
I honestly believe that Arlecchino is doing everything to save Fountain firstly, and only secondly to take gnosis. But we know to little about hydro gnosis and its location. Who knows, maybe she can leave Fatui mission if this will save Fountain. Child said that she cares only about her own goals and can easily betray them

I think the Oratrice needed to kill off Furina just so nuvilette can use more of his draconic power. since we have never seen an Archon succession, it is possible that the gnosis might deactivate (even if it was a brief moment) which might give him strength to push the water back. The reason I think this is because visions will deactivate when the owner dies, but can respark (Kazuha). Obviously since Furina is playable, Nuvilette could just use the gnosis to reform Furina and give the gnosis back to her and maybe then Arlechinno would take it. dunno.
maybe the gnosis is inside the oratrice and thats how it works? remember in arcon quest part 1 that lyney heard a voice, it might have been coming from the gnosis

She uses Fontaine's Pneuma and Ousia mechanics, which might require the aid of a vision instead of a Gnosis, as even the one she has on her is a mixture of what Fontaine vision holders have as to show which mechanic they have, if you get what I mean. So I think it might be to use the mechanics, but we can only wait to see
Take note that Hoyo likes to put voice lines in places they dont belong. The death sentence could very well be aimed at Egeria, as they only said Focalor not Furina. Could be a flash back for all we know.

That might be how she wants others to perceive her as. The definition of "Knave" is "a dishonest or unscrupulous person." Then again, that title is hereditary, the current Knave took it from previous director, so it's hard to guess her true objective or allegiance.
Lets not forget the fact that she is Harbringer, and from we know so far the Fatui doesnt care about the value of life of others, they completely fine sacrificing and letting peoples die for their own goal... So, she being the Harbinger just make it clear what kind of person she is, saying she is not evil, is not really true...
Egeria most likely did the sin of creation, directly challenging one of the 5 heavenly authorities: life. But only partially. While she separated the body from the soul, the pnuema from the ousia, the primordial sea / ousia / body returns will one day return for the soul, that is the curtain call.
I think Furina's plan was to merge with the "primoridal water" (all that returned to water after getting into contact with primordial water) to become one as the Primordial Whale as the current Furina is the last piece of the "sinners" (those that came from the primordial whale - which parallels Khanrhea as the country of sinners). Neu's role was to facilitate this happening as the final judge to complete the primordial whale and slay it after its release. I recon, this was the prophecy that if the primordial whale was to reign after its completion, all will return to water except the hydro archon (which is the whale). I think the ending of this will explain why Furina has two sides (the one inside the Oratrice which was sealed) and the Furnina we met at start of archon quest. Childe will help Furina take control by help killing the madness inside the Whale. I think this whale will be the Archon Parallel for Stormterror, Adzaha, Raiden Puppet, Dendro Dragon. something really cool i’ve noticed for 4.2: the final act is called ‘masquerade of the guilty’ and almost everyone in fontaine wears a ‘mask’ of sorts. Furina: pretends to be all knowing, and that she has everything planned out; is really a sort of scared kid Neuvillette: hides the fact he is the hydro sovereign Arlecchino: pretends to be pleasant and ‘friendly’; while according to other harbingers (childe and scaramouche) she’s a ‘wolf in sheeps clothing’ Lyney: puts up a brave front for his siblings and other kids in the house of the hearth (freminet talks abt this in his ‘about: lyney’ voice line) Lynette: pretends to be a robot/puppet to avoid socializing (shes not) Sigewinne: puts up a kind and innocent front, but is actually highly emotionally intelligent and even says she ‘likes the feeling of being trusted’ there are probably way more examples but these are the main ones I gathered; but in the end the title of act 5 is really accurate because everyone in fontaine is guilty of wearing a ‘mask’ that hides their real selves.

I think that is most likely the case why Furina sacrifice herself, so that Neuvillette could restore his full power and maybe save Fontaine and then later on Neuvillette will use that same full power to bring Furina back.

I think maybe the real Focalors will sacrifice herself, allowing Furina to take over, and also so that Neuvillette can use the gnosis to stop the flood.

Fontaines entire story so far has been about duality, so it wouldn’t surprise me if the archon of Fontaine is gonna be like the pinnacle of that concept.

Something I want but probably won’t happen, is to have the world quest actual tie into the Archon Quest like having the Ordo come to assist furia in the last moments or to have Neuvillette use their wisdom to save Fontaine
I think whatver Furina did at her trial ended up releasing the whale, and then childe used his foul legacy transformation in that scene to kick the whale down into its jail again, and we will probably fall in too and thats where we fight it, and since that is gonna be the next weekly boss, i think the whale breaking his constellation is like aizdaha breaking morax pillars when we enter the domain.
I swear.. Fontaine is definitely one of the best regions in Genshin, everything from the story, characters, bosses, environment.. it's just *Perfect* ✨✨ Let's hope they do the same for Natlan..
i think the same too, her head piece looks a lot like the whale's fins, and her color scheme is very similar. She also has a fin on her back (attached to her) which makes her something sea related
3:30 Neuvilette ends up as the archon. It was confirmed by his ascension voice lines, so the purpose was to train him until he was wise enough to become the true hydro archon.
