We all have/had a homeboy like the one on the top bleacher. Some homies dismiss them but they always bring something to the table. EVERYBODY DOES. Much love, Kev Mac. Good to see my favorite channel up and running again. Amor y Respetos from Chuco Town, Tejas Valle Bajo 915
Og up top drinking the OE is funny as hell. I started busting up laughing last night when he said “I was one of them” talkin about he didn’t like that 1 dude.
Love the part when he said the Culver City 13 broke and ran with the Shorelines to get away from the cops and they didn't rat pacc em. Honor amongst criminals. 💯 respect!!!
Like how he respecting what his homie up top have to say even though he obviously drunk and a little bit belligerent. Mutual respect is a beautiful thing.💯✊🏾
@@loyaltoj567 No skins functioned or ran shit in Venice ever... No Skinheads have ever had an open racist presence in Venice. Back in the 1980s, Venice had Venice Suicidal Tendencies (ST) Punk Rockers that dressed like V13s, Venice Whiteboy Locals that Surfed & Skateboard and the Down Town Skateboard crew on the Venice/Santa Monica boarder. All boardwalk Area activities....not in Oakwood/Ghost Town. Never no Nazi Style Racist Skin Heads you saw in the Movie American History X.
@@loyaltoj567 the Whites moving into Venice are not the skinhead types. The whites moving into Venice are Millionaire Liberal Hipsters that don't mind living around Minorities & homeless....they are Progressive Whites.....Obama Voters.....Silicon Beach Technocrats..... @@joemosely9383 I know ST they became a click out of SOS in Long Beach now called Suis Aka Suicidal Town with bunch of Cambodians and Islander's in it part of the SEA gang Suis EFCC and ABZ ..there were skin heads..and the hipster's etc u talk of being around minorities? Bruh Venice is literally all white now ..black is the minority there now. U can do all the Google searches u want but facts are facts
Great interview Kev...I’m black that grew up in Culver City with those Eses in the early 90s... it’s cool seeing the Sho Lines perspective of the Culver City & Venice war, one thing for sure growing up with them Eses, back then although we was black they wasn’t on no racist shit they was cool as hell as long as you wasn’t from Venice 😂 Culver City Boys hated these dudes.💯
Going to Culver high during that time they fosho hated Veince and constantly heard about Sman but wasn't tripping on blacks and had 2 guys that were black Rip to Kote and Scrappy. We used to go to the marina del rey arcade and VSLC used to come up there Deep and fight with the 60s etc
Used to see my cousin and his Culver City 13 homies all in red and met white guys saying these skinheads in Venice giving them VSLC the blues..crazy to hear
I don't know why people insist on asking for the impossible.. the Homie already mentioned that Esses are banned from talking on record. Just like some Bloods are.
KK telling the truth!! The kings had the gym on lock 🔐....shout out to Big Freddie and Mr.Price!! I lived in the gym, played all sports there.....best times of my childhood....and the grape 🍇 streets were in there also.....I moved in the PJ's in 84 and sholines were getting deep....S-Man in the old school, Smurf in old School(just to name a few)....as a kid I used to get dropped off at the gym by the sholines with the hardest old schools, cutlass, omegas, 5.0....it got so bad in there they turned a couple of buildings into police offices/come tell buildings lol.....bought my first suede Nike Cortez at the warehouse shoe store right next to Marina Del Ray Middle School..damm those was the days......if you know than you know....blessings and well wishes to everyone who grow up in the PJ's during those times....
There were actually quite a few blacks as well as Samoans that lived in the Mar Vista gardens housing projects. This was in the mid 1950's on into the 1970's
Man I know I’m late on this series but this series hit deep for me. My uncle Chip Dogg was from VSLC but moved to Montclair and came up with my pops on Pradera Blocc. They showed my folks nun but love on 6th Ave when all my OG’s would hit the beach💪🏾 CIP Uncle Chip Dogg and 9 love to the Sho’ Lines💯
The OG with the tall can needs to be interviewed more. Kev Mac excellent video man. The chicanos and blacks have always had a major presence out in the west side. From what I know blacks and browns were the people who did the labor on this Venice canals along with a few Asians/ Filipinos.
I remember when my aunt stayed in that project bust out all her windows on the lower level because they thought my cousin was from Venice just because he went to Venice high and that happened in 96 or 97 never knew the Venice cats had a section in the projects now I know why certain shit went down with the blacks
Around the same time 1st ECC and Aliso had the same issue. All major issues with Eses in the streets IMO happened around the early 90s with that push. Kev we need to know when the SXL and Hoovers kicked off.
One of those rare individuals that are gifted at telling stories, laying out the history, and telling it like it is all at the same time. Those project stories had me visualizing the setting and feeling the climate for real!
When I visited LA, I found it weird how LA, Santa Monica, Culver City, Venice and Hollywood are considered their own cities when they're literally right next to each other. It all feels like one city if you don't live there.
I've lived in LA my whole life so I get what you mean. Venice and Santa Monica specifically are right up the street from each other. Culver City is connected to both Santa Monica and Venice but Hollywood is way too big a city as is to be combined with those three
@@vizionaryentertainment8464 I stayed in Hollywood when I was out there. Everything just felt like sections of LA and not their own city because there aren't any obvious borders or tolls or anything that let's you know that you're somewhere else. LA county is the only place I know that got cities next to each other like that.
@@swanm3ta850 Hollywood is a county in itself. Theres North Hollywood which is huge then West Hollywood which is also huge. LA County has about 88 cities in total. A place like Hollywood is split into neighborhoods that operate as there own cities. All the cities are next to each other there are no open spaces between cities everything is congested and crowded lol.
@@swanm3ta850. What are you talking about LA is the only place with cities next to each other like that ? Are cities supposed to be separated by empty land ? Cities and towns go next to each other that’s how that works everywhere not just LA so I’m going to guess you haven’t traveled much at all. Phoenix for example is a city of almost 2 million people but Phoenix is part of what the call “the valley” so the valley consists of Phoenix,Tempe,Scottsdale,Glendale etc etc the cities that make up the valley have over 4million combined resistance
The questions l was wondering about? Guess who got it covered? Big Kev MAC and Baby Smac!!! Nice work fellas!!! This is why l keep coming bacc for more!!! 1 Love!!!
Now it all makes since why I use to always go over to them projects with my pops as a kid, my big cousin stayed over there but my pops use to always be over there and took me to play with my lil cousin....these mfkz was husslin over there! We all from 🍇st tho and these was them years they talking about! Wooow wait til I talk to my pops!🤦🏿♂️🤣
Being black in southern California is very hard once u go down south Midwest or east coast life is a breeze life out west for black people is hard period bit we survive and thrive
@California2pacnipsey California2pacnipsey I'm originally from DC so yes on east it poor and struggle but compared what u go thru being black California id rather deal with DC and that place done turned into Chirac lol
@California2pacnipsey California2pacnipsey in the inner city outside of that California is a breeze....California is big it is more to Cali than gang banging..lol
Blacks fled from the south to go up north and out west for better living.. Its so much more in California, it’s just y’all’s government that’s fucking up y’all’s state.. It’s hard out here in the south, plus all the racism we face being black..
How about the street Kingston I believe? Culver 13 was active right there too. My boy Kev lived right ....a bald black dude on a bike rolled up on my with red sweats and a shotgun...nigga told me don't come back over there wit blue chucks on....had me like damn ...it is gangs out here 😂😂 but he made sure I wasn't from Venice
Damn man I'm surprised nobody mentioned Venice Suicidal homies. I used to to a little this and that with some Sui's from Venice , and they was good with both Shoreline and the Vatos. They were the punk rockers and shit too the Samoans used to do security at fenders ball room here in LB which is why the Uso's from SOS claim Suicidals too. Like 15th and 32nd at Silverado.
Wow..... one of the most interesting rip sets. You take VSLC as a myth growing up in South Central till Sunday you go to the beach and it's a 1000 of the ni@&a's on the boardwalk. KEV MAC covered ground on this one.... what's next 54 VNG. Since your pulling off miracles on the LORDS DAY....
@@kingtau Sorry to hear that. I know around 94 or. 95 it was ugly and active, me and the homies had to watch our backs on the West Side especially with us being from CrenShaw area
Shout out to Cali... Wildwood white boy from cali. Was in prison with him and there was a rumor he was Crip. Showed me hella love and when i bumped into him on the bricks he confirmed he was from Sho Line
But you would probably be surprised how many people contacted me saying their dad or their brother ran the PJ’s... it would make for a great conversation but someone feelings will be hurt when someone finds out the truth.

@@balls_down_ya_throat456 the Oakwood area in Venice is ground zero for VSLC, the projects were a secondary hang out for some of the VSLC’s that lived in there.

We turned 2’s in 1991! The beef with the PBG’s started because of a house party that was in PBG hood,my homies were there and a fight started. But we never really cool with them! Plus SYC didn’t like them either, and if you know it’s YARDLINE all day!💯
