one of the better songs from the earlier albums, glad they played it. wow, didn't realise how much their voices have changed in 10 years...i didn't think our voices changed as we age.
This. No words. Almost impossible to sort myself out when it comes to making a list of favorite T&S songs...but I think this is my 2nd favorite. Nineteen being the first, especially in the Spinner Interface, ugh my heart melts.
this is one of my all-time favorite songs! love that they are playing it again now! Sara sounds exactly the same as she was back when she was 18 when she sang the first verse, dont u think?
New favorite song. Tegans back up vocals are amazing. I love this video added to my favorites I also love how confused Sara gets after Tegan said you use metaphors really well in the song. Thanks for posting
@amazingpony don't remember where it was where tegan was saying that she's always baffled that fans like the older stuff more, since she feels like they are such better songwriters and recording artists now than they were then... but then she says she gets it, that there was a rawness and openness about those songs that they don't have as much now, and so she gets it...
TEGAN'S FREAKING BACKING VOCALS! That is all. Okay here's a little more: I've been SO impressed by how much she's grown vocally in the last few years. She's just killing it all the time now on everything. THAT is all.
@Javacity I totally agree. Though I was utterly shocked that they don't warm up their voices before they sing. Makes me wonder what they would sound like if they warmed up from like the get-go?
@amazingpony yeah, i can't remember where it was that she said that. hmm. anyway, i totally agree... TBOA will always be at the top of my list (along with The Con, because I feel like the rawness and vulnerability on that album is just as tangible). When I make T&S compilation CDs for people, I like to put one song from each album in chronological order at the beginning... usually the first song from each album, except for The Con, which goes first for that album ;)
aw, haha, yeah, sara is a quiet one. im pretty soft spoken too. i hate speaking up and 'projecting'. i only seem to be able to do that maybe when im doin certain videos or talking with friends about certain subjects. but otherwise im muffled and ppl prolly think im drugged out er sumthin lol lol "and then the bass came in and it just blew right off the thing" ghetto filming conditions, we understand how that feels, lol.
@jessicakeg oh cool! i convinced a friend to fly with me to sao paulo for pride the year we were there! (2006, i believe.) it was ginourmous and amazing!!! sao paulo is soooo huge...how do you ever find your way around??
