It's more about the character of the player. Shadow strikers are more responsible for scoring goals. Mostly they play in the space between midfield and forward. They usually try to move from this back room towards the goal/box. they try to keep the defense busy and try to disrupt the def formation. His main job is to score goals. Attacking midfielders act as passing stations, initiate the attacks, switch of play to get a numerical advantage on the side he moved the ball to. His job is to create chances. @@markusvienna231 ok but I heard all these names (second striker, shadow striker, supporting striker) and I just think this names are all the same player. But are they really scoring only goals or also supporting the other players isn't this just a false 9 overall?
@@VasianYT correct. shadow striker, supporting striker, second striker. are pretty similar. You have to see it more in the overall concept of how a team plays and determine it based on the character of the player. An attacking midfielder doesn't play the same in every formation, and neither do the strikers. A false 9 for example players in front like a striker, but drops to create space etc. Shadow strikers stay deep, but rushed into goal scoring positions or help to create numerical advantage on one attacking side. Thomas Muller from FC Bayern Munich built an entire career on not being a striker, but not a midfielder either. he won the world cup, champions league and many national titles.
