Coach Malbon joined the game through university, representing Staffordshire Stallions from 2012 and Staffordshire Surge from 2013 as a Defensive End. Following retirement due to injury in 2016 went into coaching.
He served as LB coach for Staffordshire Stallions 2017 and then as Defensive Coordinator for both the Stallions and Staffordshire Surge in 2017 & 2018. Subsequently, appointed Defensive Coordinator for Keele Crusaders in 2019. Following some time away from the game - Returned in 2021 as the Defensive Line coach for the Crewe Railroaders and in 2022 was appointed as the Offensive Coordinator.
He is currently Defensive Coordinator for the Sandwell Steelers.
