When the owner spends too much money at the wrong place, and hasn't the budget and/or willingness, to finish it out properly, is so frustrating. Diagnosing and unscrewing poor work, takes so much more time than starting from unmolested stockers. Cheers on always giving your best.
I appreciate that you appreciate the situation. It's 100% harder dealing with other poeple dodgy work as apposed to stock stuff. Not to mention when the client doesnt wish to spend the money to do it properly we are then by default asosciated with the dodgy stuff on the car. This is why I try point it out as best I can in these videos, in hopes that whover has to work on the vehicle next hopefully understands that it's not all our work, and if we had it our way it would all be far nicer front to back.
Still plenty of potential left. Simple intercooler upgrade would have it making an easy 400whp. Which you wouldnt get through this kind of driveline with any aspirated LS
@@BoostGumps Excellent, thanks, good to hear that from someone who has actually played with these things. I've had a bunch of "my mate did X, and it picked up some ridiculous amount of power". I'll leave the 105 system alone, it's a complete 105 motor, in an 80 series, originally installed pre going turbo, to solve the wet dizzy river crossing problem. With your intercooler sizing, I'm running an insulated, ten litre tank, in the second batter tray and the bottom half of a F250 radiator, with two 12' pusher fans. At 5500kg total(80 and boat), there's very few hills where IAT's go north of 20 degrees above ambient. For anyone wondering why the F250 radiator, the US pickup truck radiators are huge, OEM quality and they weld well. Mine was free, got the local panel shop to save it for me, as the top half was damaged, it was getting replaced anyway. Thanks again.
@@dan4age I never said 10 psi, even if the 1hd is running 50 psi diesels and petrols are tuned differently. diesels you add fuel to make the power and boost to suit. petrols are put boost in them and adjust the fuel to suit thats why diesels can run as much boost as we want to get them to run lean which means it runs cool. the 1hd will make same power a shit load more torque and use half the fuel.
