Mystic Mac nobody mentions this. Which is what a good QB does. I'll tell you something else: he saved that. Earlier in the game , his eyes were on the #1 option from the start.

When Tua first threw the ball, it almost looked like Saban was unhappy that he took a shot. He seems to grimace slightly and raise his hand as if to keep Tua from doing what he just did. Then once the ball is in the air, the frustration slowly fades as he realizes Smith has got it. Then obviously the moment Smith catches it he is ecstatic. It's probably due to the fact that Tua isn't at all what Saban is comfortable with, Tua is electric, he takes chances, he's high risk but also high reward as was obvious with that last play. That's something Alabama quarterbacks have traditionally stayed away from being.
Alex Vanluit yeah Jalen is a safe bet because of lack of turnovers and allowing the defense to win games without having the QB put up a bunch of numbers. They needed something drastic though to beat Georgia, and in retrospect the move to Tua was just what they needed. He would live with the potential mistakes in order to win. Crazy game just crazy

I’m a Buckeye fan, but seeing Nick that happy and running onto the field made me respect him more. That’s the most I ever seen him celebrate his success. Cuz he’s had a lot of it. It’s alright for a man to show some emotion like when you achieve greatness. Much respect to him!
The timing of that throw is bonkers. Doesn't look to his left until he's already in his throwing stance. He just knows exactly where Smith will be when he throws the ball and how long it would take for him to reach the end zone while the ball's in the air.
I miss watching football cause of the Corona virus. So watched this championship how many times. So fun to watch this and the reaction of Geogia fans. Best champions ever.

Chris, he actually threw the ball 47 - 48 yards. Sure, the line of scrimmage was the 41, but he was on the 48 when he threw it. It was caught near the goal line. So what ever distance it was, it was flat out impressive regardless.
What no one ever talks about, and I swear I don't know why more offensive coordinators don't teach this… But Tua purposefully looked right right up until he threw to the left-hand side. That took the deep safety out of position, I never understood why quarterbacks don't do that
It wasn't a breakdown. They were playing a 2 deep prevent. They were hoping he would throw to 1 of the 2 inside receivers as any QB would have done in that situation. Well, anyone but Tua. That simply could not be defended, simple as that. Yes, if a DIFFERENT qb threw it, the safety would have gotten there in time and probably intercepted it due to the high arching throw that they would have inevitably thrown, and the fact that anyone else wouldn't have looked off so effectively. But Tua got it there so fast it just couldn't be defended. He was looking off then the ball is in Smitty's hands the next second. It was brilliant and I'm sure it's only the beginning of Tua changing every play book out there. He's definitely special, no doubt.
Pat Downs Tua may be a freshman but that guy is a genius he know what he was doing all along taking a sack to set up that last play wow...he's legend man
