4 Day Road Trip | Hampshire & Wiltshire | April 2024 ♥

On the 11th April we set off for a 4 day break to Hampshire and Wiltshire for an adventurous trip visiting lots of places, seeing friends and family and staying at two lovely accommodations, both of which we have stayed at several times before.
Along the way we visit the homes of Gilbert White, Jane Austen and her brother, walk two canals in Wiltshire and pay a visit to the White Horse high up at Westbury.
It would have been my Mum's 101st birthday on the 14th April so we conclude having a family meal together on the day to think of her, give thanks and celebrate her life before heading back home to Sussex.
This was a lovely trip, it's a long video, which I hope you will enjoy.

I love to see thatched houses! You seemed to have had a wonderful few days away with great views, great places and great lunches (I hope that lost pheasant wasn't on the menu!) and with your lovely boy! English charm. There is nothing like it. I very much enjoyed this, Lynn, and lovely to remember your mum, too.

Thank you so much for watching Andrew, this one took a long time to edit as we did so much, and it was such an enjoyable few days away; we love both Hampshire and Wiltshire with it's picturesque scenery. No, haha, I didn't see pheasant on any of the menus (thankfully!). There are so many (and grouse) on the little road up to our cottage and we even saw some deer, but sadly Rich didn't have the camera to hand to capture them, they were so cute. Ky really enjoyed it and he's been sleeping quite a lot today 🐶 Yes, there's no one like a Mum and we miss ours so much. I am sure she'd be so happy to know that we get together and celebrate her life on her special day 💖

Hi Lynn Richard and Ky you were so lucky with the weather. I love looking at the thatched cottages they are so picturesque it is so lovely down that way all the different houses shape and sizes of them can differ so much. Loved your choice of music Lynn especially when you were in the church as it reminded you of the bells ringing. As usual Ky enjoyed himself you could see he was itching to get in the canal, he loved corsing the fields though and no ball found. Thankyou Lynn for such a brilliant video really enjoyed it very much . See you soon on your next outing 😊❤xx

Indeed Fiona, we were so lucky with the weather. We often go and it's miserable, but we couldn't have asked for better. It's nicer to drive in the sunshine as it's such a picturesque route. We love the thatches; there are several in our road. I'm glad you enjoyed watching, and the music too. It's always tricky to find music to suit the theme. Oh yes, Ky had such a great time. He was very tired when we got home; lots of new places to run and sniff 🙂 xxx

Looks like a great road trip. I have visited the Wakes and Jane Austen's house but never have time for Chawton House because usually on a coach trip with limited time. Would love to walk up to Westbury White Horse!! You certainly packed a lot in!!

Thanks Jean, it really was, we had such a lovely time and did an awful lot in the short time we were there. Although we didn't go inside Chawton House I know it would be amazing. We sat in the courtyard and had afternoon tea, which was really nice. If you get out that way you should definitely visit. The White Horse is a stone's throw from my niece's house in Westbury, so we've been there many times and the views are stunning, you'd love it up there. Thanks for watching 🥰

Such a lovely treat to see your travels with yourselves and Ky. Be careful of the rape seed with Ky, and yourselves, as it is not good for health walking amongst it, and very bad for dogs if they eat any of it. It does look so beautiful though. The houses are so stunning, with their thatched roofs. Ky has such a wonderful waggy tail, and is enjoying his walks with you so much. Being a pottery painter myself, I loved seeing the pottery, and I looked up the website - love his work, and what a lovely chap he seems to be! So lovely that you could take Ky with you on your trip. Oh I'm glad you enjoyed watching Jilly and do hope you're feeling better. I absolutely love pottery and it's so hard to resist buying a mug when I am out and about. Oh yes, we wouldn't go anywhere without him, we've travelled all over the world in the past so we just want to enjoy GB now with him; he comes everywhere with me 🐕 he truly is my best friend 🐶 It's my sister's birthday today and she's off to Lynmouth for a few days. Thanks SO MUCH Nimi, I'm glad you enjoyed it. When you went to Jane Austen's House and Chawton the other day I thought wouldn't it be funny if we had been there at the same time. And of course Gilbert White's House is so lovely but having Ky with us we could only go into the gardens, but still very pleased we went and saw it, and the Church too, it was so peaceful and beautiful with so much history. Definitely recommend you go back sometime. It was a lovely trip, we so love Hampshire and Wiltshire. It took a long time to edit but I am so glad I filmed this trip with so many happy memories for us. Thanks for leaving your comment, you know how much it is appreciated ❤
