4 Days Bushcraft Trip - Hot Tent Camping

Hiking for 4 days. Great mushroom season this year and it certainly enrich the cooking on a hike. Pretty classic Swedwoods outing.
Second setup was a practical solution to convert a lavvu into a half shelter when you can't find much more than flat space on the ground that fits your body. I noticed I could have opened the doors on the side to extend that half shelter, like wind block for the preferred side. Will explore more later. Of course the lavvu could be set up normal even if the pitch would look awful if the weather would be really bad, but you have to understand, exploring new tweaks, trying to do things in different ways is what makes me keep doing this after all these years.

Hi @Swedwoods. That opening shot with the drone coming down to reveal your face, was wonderful! Honestly, if you ever had a regular opening for your program I could see it being that because, all newcomers would instantly know who and what a #Swedwoods is. Actually, there are lots of things I enjoyed about this episode, most of them cinematic like the raindrops on the stove outside the tent as well as the baked beans area with all those ripe avocado colors happening (golds, yellows and different stages of greens) was just stunning. Anyway, thank you so much for taking us along and teaching a couple of hitch methods. Hope you and the family stay well while we await your next video.

There are many fine ideas in this video, from using a pine cone to level the wood stove to some useful knots, to using the wood stove and a flat rock to make a baking oven.

Thank you for the stick holding up the pack trick! I've seen you use it before but it just clicked now. I have chronic hip problems and hiking is going to be a recovery tool, so considering I bring a walking stick everywhere I'll always be able to do this. Not having to bend down to search my pack will save me a lot of pain!

Thanks! you mean tent right? (same old pack I had in most of my videos). Mountain Cattle. Pretty low quality so I would not recommend it. I use the hell out of it and will try to get another lightweight lavvu next summer
