Love this kind of video! Annoyingly, every once in a while, for every lift, I just kinda, stop being able to do it fully correctly. It happens in cycles and with every lift. And when it does, I always come back to your channel to lock back in with the tips and specific lift guides.

This is very timely. I'm an intermediate lifter, hit those plateaus, and experiencing those occasional days where the strength just doesn't show up, and your tip on how to make something from a bad day really helps my head game. You also solved my mystery in why the first pull always feels the hardest (mechanically, anyway). I'm gonna give that "try a little longer" tip next time too. Thanks for the video!

Awesome energy as always @brian! Got this ole man into sandbag training (59 - just a #)!! I recommend the Everyday Carry Program folks. Game changer for raw primitive strength. Oh and hit Brian’s Cerberus link. The sandbags, belts, gear and service are unbreakable.

Superb tips, Brian. I really needed this. I hadn't trained the DF in a while and yesterday that bar folded me! I reckon the "2 second battle" demands some mental preparation because in my head I'm always hearing "drop it or you'll hurt yourself"...

I think something most people overlook is their hip and shoulder mobility. Brian published a video a few years ago talkign about his morning stretching/mobility routine and i recently decided to add this to my daily list. I have always been hamstring dominant (little to no glute activation) and a weak low back so now i have moderate arthritis (lumbar). When is tarted flexibility and mobility training, i worked on my posterior oblique sling (you activate this with the "bird dog" (also, the posterior sling is a GREAT topic for a video)) and i cant tell you just how much better i feel. I dont need 10 min to stand up straight int he AM. Anyway, without a good mobility program, you might not be activating ALL your muscles
@BrianAlsruheOfficial
@BrianAlsruheOfficial Месяц назад
That is a really good point and I appreciate your comment! I’m so glad you found it helpful

@@BrianAlsruheOfficial Thanks friend. I have a winging scapula that im trying to rehab. Ive been doing scap punches but it just made me hurt worse. Turns out, i had lost my ability to activate my teres major (you have to keep your shoulders DOWN. I always unintentionally shrugged which involved my upper traps and that places little to no emphasis on the teres major). So i'm relearning that and it feels so much better. I dont think i would have made it this far without your mobility video. What some might find as a helpful tip, i see it as a game changer. I also appreciate that you take the time to reply. That doesnt happen often

Great video I’ve seen a million videos on deadlifting and heard some version of these cues almost as many times but I think the way you describe them is really unique and extremely likely to help someone who has heard similar cues that didn’t click for them.

The 4th tip is always the hardest to teach, reminds me of how my high school wrestling coach would always say "he'll go" when ever you were trying to pin a dude who really didn't want to get pinned. Seems like he won't budge...until you keep running your feet and he flops over. I try to use a similar cue with everyone I train when the weight feels heavy

I’m currently training for a competition, will drinking alcohol in the weekend affect me in my training?
@BrianAlsruheOfficial
@BrianAlsruheOfficial 19 дней назад
It kind of depends on how much alcohol we are talking as well if you have to cut weight but yes, it will definitely have a negative effect. It hurts recovery, motivation, your CNS’ ability to rejuvenate, lowers your testosterone and increases your calories drastically
