Thx sir i need this for my IA and this helped me out. I replicated the same experiment in my school and it was successful because of ur guidance, cheers!
@@resonancefeel yes sir I was investigating the effect of change in wavelength on the resistance induced by ldr so to do that I need to find the wavelength of some lasers which I used for my experiment
@@resonancefeel You are right. I am trying to make a double slit for the LASER but it is not working. I will also do the diffraction grating to make a video on interference. So, I will be making two more videos with my LASER. If you have any questions or suggestions of videos for me to make, please let me know.
Only precaution you should take is "laser beam shouldnot enter your eye directly". Other thank that handle the grating carefully because it is made up of glass and it is costly (Rs 2000/-)
Yes, you are right but it depends on width of grating or number of lines per inch. 1 inch is 2.54 cm and N is number of line in one inch. Basically we calculate the width of one line d.
Hi there, it is GaAs Semiconductor diode laser, it is very accurate, equipments required are very less such as laser, grating, screen, scale. Kindly go through video for complete procedure
In fact number of lines per inch will be given on the grating. From the LPI we are going to find the grating constant d, this is nothing but the distance between two lines or one inch devided by number of lines. If it is not given on the grating then we have to find it (distance between two lines). We need the travelling microscope or comparator microscope to find the distance. Thank you
@@rituraj123 The LPI (lines per inch) will be written on the grating itself. It will be written by manufacturer only. If it is not given by instrument supplier or manufacturer then we have to find LPI by using microscopes.
@@imramesh8694 Please go through this Quantum Mechanics video, if possible watch it completely or watch at 13 min. Dual nature of light has been explained Link is below ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-x4ujnMNj7W8.html
Hello, If number of lines increases per inch or per cm means decrease in d value. We have Lambda = d sin theta/n If theta increases spacing between points on screen increases. Since d and theta are inversely proportional from above formula, "If d decreases (increase in lines) then spacing between points (theta) increases"
@@reshmahittalamani6600 Yes no problem, you can take whatever distance you want. The thing is the laser spots on screan should be clearly visible and measurable. Normally between 80cm to 200cm we take.
Hello there, It is very simple, to get it from trigonometry go through video at 5.30 minutes and sin theta in the tabular column watch video at 8.00 minutes. Thank you
Yes. That depends on the grating. The lines per inch will be written on the grating, please check it. Then we have to devided one inch by number of lines
Hi there, There is no need of plotting the graph. Graph is only to mark the laser spots falling on screen. Even you can use a blank paper for spots marking. OR If you want to calculate the wavelength by plotting the graph only then one can plot the graph of "d sin(theta) Vs n" and find the slop which gives the wavelength.

Hellow, Respected sir i want to know how can we verify wavelength of 635nm rotary laser used in agriculture and construction sites can you please help!
Hi, We can perform the diffraction experiment and find the wavelength of any Laser. Now a days we have other techniques to find the wavelength easily by measuring the emission spectrum of the laser light. To measure emission spectrum we need expensive "spectrometer".

@@jinbaba1000able Hi, You can perform the experiment no problem. In your case distance between the points should be more. Normally more points will appear, centre point maxima and intensity diminishes centre to either sides. Distance between points is more because of following reason. If number of lines increases per inch (LPI) means decrease in d value. We have Lambda = d sin theta/n If theta increases spacing between points on screen increases. Since d and theta are inversely proportional from above formula, "If d decreases (increase in lines) then spacing between points (theta) increases"
Hi Sir, i have performed the experiment by using diffraction grating 15000 LPI, d=2.54/15000=1.693x10 raise to power -4, 1st right distance = 30.05 1st left distance 31.5 calculated value of Xm= 30.775 and calculated value of theta is =17.10 and finally calculated value of lamba = 2.895x10 raise to power minus 3. have i calculated correct ?
@@mahimapandey3680 it is very simple, You need a any laser source which is easily available in market. You can order diffraction grating online, available for around Rs.1500/- Any wooden screen and a scale or tape or a thread to measure the distance. That's it.
