i remember when there was a photo floating around a honda facebook group and people were saying it was photoshopped. then all of a sudden real ones started popping up on youtube.

@@BodeVision first one i saw was a white one in miami but it also had some suzuki front end. Only time ive seen it.... real unicorn. Apparently Honda sold suzuki their ek and they rebadged it with a diff front end but was only a yr or two so even to this day i cant even find a pic of the suzuki version but seent it person.... props on the channel shitty i only just found it
I saw this car on Boostedboiz' channel I believe, couldn't believe how well done it was. You could've told me it was like this from factory, and I would have believed you. Insane idea meets insanely talented and patient people... This is what truly brings new stuff to the table.
I need to swap out some work with someone with some welding skills I have a four door I don't really care for. I miss my old ek hatch but I have kids now lol. Just gave my step son my eh2 , my own son wants my Sentra se-r spec-v b15. And my youngest wants my old trooper. My girls just want anything that drives lol. But this would be perfect for me.
oh a sedan to a hatchback. cool. I know I shouldn't ask but I've been looking for a car that has 3 doors instead of 2 and the only newest car that has that is the Hyundai Veloster and the old Saturns. Now if I wanted something like that like on a Simi old Honda Civic. what would it cost? Thanks for your time.
Jp Custodio yeah man the current owner/ who I sold the car to is trying to sell it. I actually saw the car this past weekend and it's in my most recent video.
You in the sac area? I swear I seen this thing in traffic today. Had a few eks back in the day so when I seen a 4 door it literally broke my brain haha.
Would u do this again I would buy this from u cuz no one in the Cayman islands does any good work like this an me being some one that love cars but cant get any thing done where I from
This actually makes me wish that they made a 5 Door hatchback version of these Civics! This looks like it belongs and would be great for hauling the family around with the usefulness of a hatch but the fun of a Civic. Nice paint as well and I dig the EK4 SiR front/rear bumpers.
Great body work, I got in an argument when I showed my brother this build of "It's easy, just cut and weld" he didn't understand what I was getting at with all the trouble it is to 'do it right'. Great job.
K3NnY_G lol ask about about the fuel filler door, the mounting of the bumper crash bar, extending the roof drip rail trim, the working of all the lights, signals, getting the trunk release latch to work with the oem pop release next to the drivers seat, making sure the back bumper lined up to the new wheel arch. Also the cabin pressure release flaps. There's is a lot involved to do something like this. Thanks so much for watching and for sticking up for the process lol.
Hey, this video is actually helpful... yes mini videos would be better, but the picture are an amazing feature. Anyway you could show measurements of the cuts?
All I have is the pictures where I took some notes on the body. I can send you some of the pictures that show some of the measurements. Also if you're thinking about doing this conversion understand there's issues I didn't cover. For example the roof drip rails must be extended and you'll have to use drip rail trims from a newer accord. Thanks for your feedback I really appreciate it!
Hey man is there any way i can contact you not through you tube, maybe text you or email. I really wanna do this to my ek sedan and would like to get info on this build.
I never understood the fascination with hatch backs, to me they look like the quasimodo of car designs. I prefer the classic lines of coupes and sedans, with a proper engine bay/cabin/trunk. So yea I kinda think you just ruined this car, but that's just me I know I can't speak for everyone. Ya did a damn good job tho I'll give ya that much
E G yeah quite a few people have contact me about doing it and I will without a doubt do another one of the price is right. This project took a months of working 6 days a week for 10 hour days. So labor charge is going to be expensive to pay for me to work an entire month. But if someone wants me to do it I'm happy to.
I think is worth it if its your self doing it for re-sales or for you to have but that's a lot of work to do for someone else unless that person just want that type of body and pay the price for the appreciation of your work knowing that after the cost of your labor is not worth the price of the car, assuming $50 hour x 10= $500 x 6= $3000 x 4= $12,000 but the cost of your labor is like an art to keep. Great job men
Ivan Lopez cool brother. Keep in mind there are a lot of small factors you'll have to work around. For example keeping the drip rail running from front to back. Also you'll have to take drip rails off an accord since their roof is longer and they fit the same way. Also the trunk latch and electrical. Make sure you take some pics and send me some so I can check it out
I love this conversion. I fell in love with it from the first day I saw it. Great job. I wanted to see if you were going to brace the 1/4's from the body twisting or warping(at least put a rear strut bar in). But I guess there wasn't much flex.
JOEGGGJOE the main structure of the car is in the flor and the pillars so I didn't brace anything during the process of removing the old trunk section. Once it was all done I braced it all with strips of 18 gauge sheet metal and stictch welded it. I wish I had some pictures of that but unfortunately I do not.
I seen this car in a vid of h2o or another car show and thought thats exactly what you did, came out sick and is unique and one of a kind great job man...
Yeah man the new owner had put a K series in it and now he just has it as a shell sitting. It was a great car and a car that i learned so much with by having. Future builds are coming brother and they will be better than the Dap Hatch. I appreciate the support and thanks for subscribing.
Nice body work but I would personally never care if I saw another Honda Eg or Ek hatchback car ever again in my life. I've owned 3. The amount of fanboy lols that surround this car will forever make the honda hatchback the jersey shore of the car world.
Damn that turned out good. Miss my ek civic. Had lathers brakes, spax adjustable coilovers, camber adjust kit, poly bushes, strut braces front and back but just the stock engine which I planned to swap. Sadly along came my 2nd child and the Mrs forced me to sell it for a family wagon :( 10 years later I still miss it
