I've wanted to build a movie-accurate, minifigure-scaled version of the Hogwarts Clock Tower from Harry Potter and the Prisoner of Azkaban for years now. I finally got enough parts to make it happen, and here's the finished result!
I honestly think this is one of the best mocs I've ever seen, it's so detailed, the scale is huge and awesome, it's the perfect clock tower, and I think Amy and Jamie would be proud.
Wow, this is truly incredible, I know it's not just a simple task, but if you ever want to attempt more of Hogwarts seeing the astronomy tower, at this scale and detail would be bouncers. But really anything Harry Potter would be great, since it seems like anything you build comes out in insane detail, even something as simple as Minecraft. You have certainly become my favourite RU-vidr.
Oh my god! This is an amazing build! This is a literal talent that is crazy and amazing. And just blows away how big this is. Just punies the LEGO one. Keep up this work :D Would also recommend to make the Horntail Chase from Goblet of fire!
Wow! Absolutely gorgeous! The Clock Tower's such an iconic locale, and you've done an excellent rendition. When you said the 2004 official version was the largest I went and checked sine I thought surely the recent Clock Tower set must be bigger, but nope you're right! I guess a way to improve it would be to use trans clear pieces in the clock, but I'm not certain those elements even exist in trans clear at the moment. For stuff I'd like to see... it's incredibly niche, but the old Training Grounds Tower from the first film - it's based on a real life shooting location at Alnwick Castle, and got modified heavily for the second film, before havingits surrounding areas cut back for the third film, and eventually removed from the model entirely for the sixth film. As a result it's no longer on the physical model apart from some of its surrounding outer walls and gatehouse, and isn't as well known as other parts of the castle. It might actually use even more tan bricks than the Clock tower, but that'd be a sweet project with its courtyard and features. On the smaller end, the old reception room from the first two films, als a real shooting location in the Bodley Tower stairs at Christ Church college in Oxford. It's a very pretty interior space, and the ceiling especially might be tricky. A microscale early film Hogwarts would also be worth a shake, since it's changed a lot in both small and large ways over the films. For a more colourful option, there's always the Quidditch pitch.
@@CheeseyStudios thanks! I fell down a bit of an architecture rabbit hole a couple years ago when I was looking for a map to GM a HP RPG with. I've ended up with an irrational amount of knowledge of the Hogwarts model - and I gotta say it makes your clock tower even more impressive because it really is incredibly accurate. I think I mentioned it in a comment on an earlier video but there's a great blog by an American guy who's been 3D modelling each version of the Hogwarts castle and has more or less finished the first 5 films versions. It's amazing at collating the sources and references, especially since some of the earlier features are way less well documented. hogwarts4d.home.blog/ Sadly on hiatus at the moment, but it's a real treasure trove for referencing the castle and getting a sense for how it's changed.
I'd love to see a larger version of the bathroom from the Polyjuice Potion Mistake set. It's a weird yet memorable location for me, and I have no real clue why.
I used to be a huge Harry Potter nerd, and wow, this video brought it all back haha. I absolutely love the clock and how you made it, very nice detail. Also the darker tan bricks to add detail to the main wall bricks. I usually don't watch things other than Minecraft on RU-vid, but you have me hooked xD
This was a great MOC and then I saw how large it is an I love it even more! Keep up the good work man :) also, any one else notice the ice spike and pillager outposts in the background?
What a Gorgeous build, My favorite part is all the detail and especially all of the unique techniques for the clock design, and everything else especially the roof just really popped out! Amazing! 🤯 good job! And i would never have that much tan lol.
I hate Harry Potter usually but this is so dang cool, easy 10/10 from me. Gotta be one of the coolest builds of that size I've ever seen. Lego Harry Potter in general is really cool.
Brilliant!! As a Harry Potter fan and Lego fan, I can say with 100% confidence this is one of, if not, THE best Lego clock tower ever, and definitely one of the best versions of Lego hogwarts ever. If we had an entire Lego hogwarts with builds like this, I don’t think any Lego build could ever top it. Great work!
someones gonna see this and litterally make a life size clocktower but this is just amazing thanks for sharing this! also we can seethe pillager outpost in the background so you might wanna hide that, so it doesnt ruin the surprise of the teqnicues that you've used to make it and how it looks!

Thanks for the tips on using flex tube to achieve the correct arch shapes. Id never thought about it. I hope you don't mind me stealing the idea for a similar project!
By all means! I 'stole' the same technique from someone who 'stole' it from someone before him, and so on and so on lol! That's how this community keeps making better and better things - we learn from each other!
Caleb - that MOC is just magnificent. I know you repurpose your bricks for new projects, but please take as many photos and videos of this Clock Tower as you can. It is skillful and spectacular.

I saw it in person, absolutely stunning. The light up features were crazy cool. Even though I didn’t get to see you I still really appreciated it’s majesty. Brickworld was awesome.

Man, this is crazy good! I love the use of the flex tubes to create the arches and the techniques for the clock itself are amazing! Keep up the brilliant work.
yea i am huge star dork but like you said pretty much every ship has been made so there isn't much there that hasn't been done before but this is something unique something that haven't and may not be done again for a while and deserves to be great amount of appreciated the time you took to make this and the skill used in it. i can see why you where on lego masters.

This is genuinely insane ! The amount of detail and care you put in - Im just amazed. You could build a movie accurate chamber of secrets or the astronomy tower
@@CheeseyStudios I would not even start thinking of taking it apart without having blueprints, a time-lapse, or any way of knowing how to build it again in the future! When I was younger I built a rocket inspired by the apollo 13 and when I took it apart, I took a picture from the top of the rocket every time I removed a layer.
Ohhh man that is MASSIVE! Wish I could have been at brickworld to see it in its fully glory but it still seems impressive on video. I like the simpler look you went for, anymore texture at that level and it would have probably looked strange. Great job, excited to see what large tan structure you make next
Thank you! I was definitely tempted to add more texture but I'm definitely happy I went this route, especially at this scale. It would have probably gotten a bit noisy with everything going on. Oh, and don't you worry - always more tan to come 😂
@@CheeseyStudios True, but tbh I don't think the thumbnail does this build, and especially its size justice. People are more likely to click on something that visually strikes them than just reading "4 foot tall" (which isn't a universal metric either so gets lost on some people). Maybe make that size more obvious by putting a smaller build or yourself next to it in the thumb. Just a suggestion ofc 😬
you should build luna's house or the burrow out off all structure i think the burrow would be the best unless you where to build a figure scaled quiditch field.
@@CheeseyStudios But it doesn't mean it was by any means a strong build LOL. I bumped into it one day and 1000s of pieces came crashing down. I'm going to try and build a bigger build eventually!
I'm truly in awe, this is beyond gorgeous! This is my favorite structure in my favorite HP movie. As you said, I've never really seen a movie accurate minifig scale Hogwarts, and it makes me happy knowing it now exists! (Or, well, did..) You showcased a short timelapse of its creation, would you ever consider livestreaming creating one of these projects? I think your style of filming would translate well to streaming. Or maybe upload one of those build recordings (maybe even with some commentary on your thought process). I think a 7 minute video doesn't do this piece of art justice :)

You'll be happy to hear that I actually couldn't bring myself to destroy it quite yet 😂 I dropped it off at my parents' house on the way to my place so it'll be safe for awhile yet (I just don't have the room for it lol) I'm still on the fence about anything live stuff just because editing is like my super power right now, and it would be hard (and perhaps a bit scary to give that up) but a Saturday afternoon build stream might be a fun experiment in the future!
