it's illegal to free pour spirits, you have to use the metal measuring cup things every time, even if it's just for a shot. no one really cares though, like it doesn't matter unless there's inspectors or something present or if the pub owner is an extreme stickler for laws. i think they just showed it in the video because they wanted to be 100% technically correct.
@@SHSprostyle a common misconception. It does for lager but not Guinness. makes absolutely no difference whatsoever. besides you shouldnt have to put more foam on a Guinness if you've poured it right in the first place
Cherish Faleono fancy gettin shots and soft drinks in plastic cups? When im at a pub i dont wanna feel like a student Party. Use glass ware at any case
Go to an English pub alone and order 12 Guinnes! when the waiter asks how much? Say 2 guinnes for me and 10 guinnes for my friend. And if the waiter asks you where your friend is, tell him he'll be there later when I've finished the 12 Guinnes. He then takes me home.
see everone does differently my parents owned a pub and hotel for 7 years and we were tought on the optics u use the glass to push up not fingers that's why u have like X shaped bottoms on some optics for the glass to push up on it u cant use your fingers on it & we were told the real ale the pipe goes all the way to the bottom of the glass
Can tell this is a big corporate pub seeing as you have optics and have to measure out a 25ml shot to put into a shot glass that only holds 25ml of liquid 😂 worst bar jobs to have
And the guy who was trying to argue with me (a bartender) about snakebites being illegal, has deleted his comments *Angry uneducated American has left the chat* I rest my case
Funny. I live in America and drink snake bits all the time. Bars still serve them. If they know how to make them if not a simple google search will do the trick. 😇
Na I work in a bar in the uk and there was an American guy arguing with me saying snakebites are illegal in the uk, I told him for w fact that they’re not and he started arguing then when I said google it he deleted all his comments, I was calling him uneducated not all of you
Why on earth would a bartender use a measure. Even i, as an amateur bbq tender can speed pour. Perhaps it's because 25ml shots, as opposed to 1oz shots here in the US of A
It can, depending on the barrel and if you know your shit. However, that's how you're trained to do it and that's how the people from Guinness tell you to pour it
@@potluckfishing Well whether it's marketing shyte or not, you're trained to do it a certain way and if you don't do that way you get managers and even customers bitching so it's not worth it
