I doubt they dislike you or anything, it's just that you're not friends anymore. I don't know why some people put so much weight on to who they're friends with and not on facebook. I've had friends and never even realized we weren't friends on facebook, and I've had some people who I don't talk to and don't particularly like who I'm still friends with on Facebook. It's just a random list of people you know. Y'all shouldn't take the list so seriously. Saying all that, I have had people who I thought I was still alright friends with (the ones where you haven't seen them in like a year, because you live in different areas, but you assume if you're in the same area you'd get lunch together or something) delete me. When you don't have their number and there's no other way of contacting them again, it kind of hurts a bit that they're basically saying they don't want to see you again, but that's the way life goes i guess - you make some friends, you lose some friends.

Yeah, it did seem like she had another reason but did not mention it until the end. I would probably have been honest, and more specific, from the start. Weird is kind of a strange reason not to like someone, my closest friends are often considered weird and so am I.

But she knew she was being interviewed for Buzzfeed, and the whole point was for her to be brutally honest. People wouldn’t (and probably shouldn’t) be that blunt ordinarily, but it’s different when it’s a “social experiment” like this.

I would get sad about it too if I used to actually hang out with them and we were friends once in real life and there are still photos of us where we can be seen having a good time together. But he did chose for the confrontation himself and I would to because I would want to know honestly. I used to have this whole group of a few very close friends that I used to hang out with alot and we were all very close together. It was like when you have a core group of friends that always stick together you know. They just droppen me at a certain point when we were growing apart even while I was still trying to reach out to them. I find that really cold and pathetic actually. At least tell someone upfront that you don't wanna be friends with them anymore if you were close and tell them the reason why if you have one. That's the least you can do if you ask me. So yeah, I would also maybe chose to have that conversation if I had the chance even if it would make me sad. Cause I'd also want to confrontate my former friend about it but more importantly learn how people behave in such circumstances and why. Cause then at least I know a little bit more about what I can expect from people. Btw, after their conversation via videochat she didn't want to delete him from facebook anymore and that remembers me of this Dutch expression: "uit het oog, uit het hart" (meaning: out of the eye, out of the heart). It expresses the tendency that most people in life will stop caring about you if they just don't see you anymore for long enough a continues period of time. But on the flipside that also means once you've spoken with them again they will probably want the best and happiness for you again unless they have a clearcut reason not to want those things for you or if they never even liked you in the first place. I think most humans actually do want best for other people they meet to if those people are at least a little bit kind but we really are mostly just to selfish at the same time to really care about alot of people besides ourselves and to keep caring for a long time once we are not directly confronted with even the people we thought we connected with.

Some people even go as far as to either add random people to make themselves "appear" more popular or even paying for added friends. It's like here on youtube. Some people will actually PAY for fake subscribers and pay for fake number views. I have no idea how that system works but they do this to appear more "popular"as a way to gain even more "real" subscribers....

Facebook is a social networking website, which means you can interact with people online. If I want to use Facebook to keep in touch with people close to me but aren't physically close it's my choice. I removed people because I realized how superficial the relationship was. You can keep in touch with acquaintances if you'd like, that's your preference.Stop trying to ingrain your definition of what Facebook should be used for in me.

I unfriend people all the time. Initially, after I add them or if they add me I try to be active with them and like and/or comment on their stuff and wish them happy birthdays. But after a while, like several years, if I notice that it's a one-way interaction and they never interact with me despite being active on FB and we never hang out and I don't consider them a friend, then I will unfriend them.

Huh yeah i get anxiety wondering if he/she is still my “friend” and found one person unfriended me about 2 years ago. We weren’t close and the last we spoke was 2018! She was most likely just cleaning out her friend list 🤷🏻 (only other reason is she mad at me but thats not it since we dont talk anyway). I think we feel upset because nobody wants to be disliked.

I understand. Lately I been thinking about deleting my account after more than 10 years on there and not using facebook anymore because I feel judged and hated by my FB friends... Only a few people write happy birthday to me. It upsets me when they unfriend me or block for no reason/without an explanation and made me feel so bad about myself but at the end of the day I can't please everyone. I just deactivate it for now and feel happier when it's deactivated but I'm literally scared of chatting with people on there or posting anything on my wall because it seems they get easily irritated by everything and unfriend for the slightest things because they're selfish assholes. Because of them I don't enjoy using facebook anymore and this social media platform makes me soo sad, lonely and decreases my self worth. I feel like I can't express myself freely on there because they get annoyed by very small and insignificant things instead of communicating what the problem is... by having facebook you allow some random undercover haters to get on your nerves there. I think I will delete my account eventually because the people on there are toxic to me (not to mention how fb easily allows cyber bullying and being sent hate messages). I'm just fed up. People don't deserve to have easy access to me on there... Bamimi Mimamiha I dont have facebook, but its more of a mutual connection when you become friends with someone on facebook, as if it was like you were making a friend in real life. So it's more than a follow like on twitter or instagram. So when someone unfriends you, it's like they're saying they don't wan't you in there life anymore
