How did it go? I just had to do mine again, because we still closed.I actually took the SL virtual class, but I still didn't want to tackle this head 😜✌🏾
Thank you so much for this tutorial, you made it so plain and simple. Before watching your video I had a ‘fear of the unknown’ now I feel confident I can retighten my own Sisterlocks. I have no other option being on Covid-19 lockdown in Germany.
Thank you so much for this tutorial. Right now I’m in the “research” phase and I had no idea how they were done till this video. You are certainly doing a great job. 👍🏾
I re-twisted my hair for the first time and this video really helped. Thank you so much. After a couple of tries it went smooth, won’t lie, I got four dreads tied together my accident but a little “dragon tails” never hurt anyone 😂
Thank you so much! This is the only video I could find showing exactly what I needed to do for the 4 point rotation for Sisterlocks. We are all in quarantine and I had cancel my appointment. 🤦🏽♀️I needed this video! Thanks again!❤️
@@mylegacymovie That's awesome! Now if only I could get up the nerve to do mine. I'm so afraid to mess up something. I have some slippage too. It's hard to find a RU-vid video for that.
Jea Jones I was a bit shaky when I first started, I probably have about three locks I joined by accident but I can fix it the next Re-tightening. Honestly you get the hang of it after the first couple of locks and and just take your time and use clips to separate the locks. It’s so rewarding doing your own hair 😊
@@mylegacymovie Awww thanks for giving me a little hope! I bought 2 needles and still hadn't tried but I can't wait much longer. I'm OVERDUE for a Retighten😔🥺😭
That was great!! Thank you. I just got micro locs installed and the crochet tool she used hurt so badly when she was interlocking that I’m determined to do my own from now on.
Hopefully you don't mind a constructive bit of info regarding tightening of the locks. As you are still pretty young you may not be affected with any hair loss from the tightening method. However be very aware that the crown of the scalp is sometimes sensitive to tight pulling. The hair on the top most area of the scalp can incur damage when tightened to close or tight to the scalp. One should allow a little looseness of the hair closest to the upper most area of the scalp. Here is where the hair follicles are most prone to sensitivity from any tight pulling of the hair. Most times the follicle damage is irreversible as the root of the follicle has died. Just saying......be kind to the crown area of the scalp when tightening to avoid serious future hair loss and follicle damage. Bye the way your hair looks beautiful.
Hello first time here Wow what a creative journey. Im doing research and as a hairstylist of almost 40 yrs. I have seen a lot and @almost 60yrs. young come November of 2020 I am excited for the next level God has for me. Thank you, so much I appreciate you for this video. I ready foe a change and always a new challenge. Keep up the good work Sis. 👏🏼👏🏼👏🏼❤
Welcome love. At 52 I’m starting my life ALL over. Very excited about moving and sharing my day to day. For you and me both, I had to break this down. My consultant just had a baby, I just may be back at doing this again. Stay Safe✌🏾
You did a great job. I think I wanna start a retight group cause these locticians are off the charts with pricing. If we help each other for free then we eliminate their over prices for ourself.
Yes hunny, I call them celebrity locticians now. Because I have peeped the consultation hussle. I have had consultations that cost 20-45 dollars only to have the loctician to say I can’t get an appointment for up to 3 months. They making a killing selling ppl dreams of getting an appointment.
Thank you so much for sharing You definitely assisted me in understanding the process and confirmed the rotation directions, along with the directions I received with the Easyloc tool that I use...which I love the Easy Loc tool. Your channel is awesome!!!🥰
New subscriber! I'm beginning My #microbraids #microlocs #diylocs journey with #reversepattern4locs #interlocks and #3pointrotation thank You so much for showing the rotation helping Me on My documented journey!
Thanks for stopping by. How long you been doing your own? What tool do you like? I always mess up my back from time to time. But I actually feel really for filled when I do my own.✌🏾
I use the blue one that you're using on the video as well as the metal one that's the same size. I get mine from Walmart. I've had mine 2 years. I don't let anybody else do hair and I'm very happy with the results. I get tons of compliments and others wanting me to do theirs but I'm not a stylist.
I haven't even booked my sisterlocks consultation yet, so nowhere near having to maintain my own hair...but I've been watching so many videos trying to get my head around the 4 point rotation and I've been hella confused. Finally, it all makes sense to me after watching this video! I already struggle to get my head around most things hair-related, so when people start saying north east south west I get confused lmao. It was way easier when you described the direction in relation to your face and head. I thought I was watching the most complex thing in the world before, but it's actually way easier than I thought! I may not be able to cornrow, but I'm sure I would be capable of interlocking if I tried.
I just saw your video on how to retie 4-point rotation I'm not sure how old your video is but I did learn a lot from it, my question is? can you slow down a little bit more, so I can learn this technique. Your video is one of the best ones I've seen so far and I've had my sisterlock for almost 5 years ,your video really shows, and you talk through your technique
@Richrootz got my sisterlocks 1 week today! I LOVE them!!! Learned from you how to do the 4 point rotation and my Loctician said she will start me off with 4 but will change it to 3 point rotation. I'm like now I have to learn that, lol
Hey sis, you are doing a awesome job with your hair it looks amazing I don’t know how you have the patience to do that my son has dreadlocks and he had me twist some of the dreads together so that they can connect and that was a lot of work, thank you so much for sharing !! God bless ❤️
I am so glad you posted this video. I had a bad experience with today where my retie appointment was rescheduled then cancelled. I was told someone would call me back to reschedule but that never happened😒. Now Im freaked out. I depend so much on my consultant to retie my hair. What if I cant get it retied or something happens where there is a confrontation and I don't feel comfortable going back there? I need to learn how to retie my hair pronto! Thank you for motivating me. 👍💕
I have had sister-locks for 14 months and I was forced because of the pandemic, to re-tighten my hair for the first time. I only did the front. I recorded a video. My consultant will be available soon. I am a newsubscriber and I look forward to more of your content.
Thanks so much for this video which was very clear to me. You see I've sisterloc before and because I had problems locating a local consultant had to cut them off and now I have dreads. I miss them and want them back but need to find again someone who will install them for me. I really love them 💕
This is helpful and simple. I am also between consultants It’s five weeks since my tightening and will end up being about another three weeks before I can be fit in. I think I can follow this video to help me in between
I removed all my Sisterlocks 😄 will be starting over again in 3 weeks. But going back to traditional locks, so I can care for them myself. We both starting over✌🏾
SISTERLOCKER 2018 I actually didn’t use a mirror here also, my daughter was recording, once I clipped away the locks I was not using I just used my fingers to make sure I was retightening only one loc at a time. Using a mirror is easier on the front and sides. And that yard needle I used was only a buck.💯✌🏾
I never would have thought, that this video would be soooo needed. I had to refresh myself, my consultant had a baby last month, so idk if she ever coming back😳 STAY SAFE✌🏾
Maria Bradford you may want to consider revisiting your consultant for your Reti. I had to learn to do mine, because my consultant was in ICU and was unable to do my retightenings. It’s actually been almost two years and she is still recovering, so I found a new consultant. I no longer do my hair, but in a crunch, this helped me out. And btw I did accidentally combine about three of my locs, that had to be untangle, snipped and re-established. I wish you the best on your journey ✌🏾
Thanks for the visit, and supporting me. How are you doing? The "shut down" had me in a little funk. I just could get my routine together, with working from home and creating content. #staysafe
Thank you so much for this great tutorial, I haven't even gotten my installation yet (August) and I'm already learning how to retightening them myself, which I don't think I will have a problem doing myself after 6 months of having them. I just would like to ask, what can I do to help make doing the back of my head a little more easier? Can you please let me know? And again thank you so much! I have also taken notes, lol.
The day is getting closer🙌🏾 I had to resort to doing my own reti my consultant got really sick. It’s been a year and she still not able to do hair. So if you don’t have to, yea wait until your hair is more stable. For the back? Some ppl use mirrors. But I just used feel. I made some mistakes, had to get help to fix. So I would practice with my front first. Cuz my arms got really tired. Let me know how your install goes💯✌🏾
Thanks for your question. “Sisterlocks” are a trade marked brand. And like the Levi’s Co. Anyone can make jeans, but you cant call them Levi’s. So this is the reason no one can do their own sisterlocks. But you can do microlocks, mini locks, or crysbslocs. And this is why no one says hey install sisterlocs they use other names for small locks. The owner of the brand can take legal action for using the name. This is al why we have to search for a certified SL consultant to install them. ✌🏾
This was a very straightforward video and I so glad you made it, but I have a question. I’ve had sisterlocks for about 6 months now and I want to independently retighten my locs. Do you think I should have gotten another type of micro loc or should I just try to be independent from now on? Please share your thoughts on this!
Great job! After ten years of Sisterlocks I will be making my first attempt. Video was motivating. Did you have any pain or discomfort after your reti?
Great job ..but how many hours to spend doing all that tiny tiny hair ? That is a lot of hair. I would like to start it I have a natural short hair but am scared
I was hear probably a year ago. Im.back because of quarantine. Quedtion: Do you find sometimes you ant do a full rotation on the second go round. So where do you end it? Top, face, down etc.
Yes, I get distracted some times. I go anyway but the same way. And would never end "up" Its really no big deal, you just do better the next time you re-tighten. #staysafe Fun Fact- I just had to re-tighten, and refresh my memory, 😜✌🏾
