The Church needs more of this kind of teaching and preaching to give us the Biblical principles we should be applying to our own lives as believers in Christ Jesus. Keep teaching and preaching and fighting the good fight Pastor Tim Mackie, you are truly a blessing for many who are starving for Biblical truth. May God continue to use and bless you for his glory. Amen.

This message reframed the Lord's Prayer for me in a new and exciting way!

Thank you for sharing the prayer at the end, I am in tears, it was so beautiful and full of love. A real blessing. Also, want to thank you for this teaching. I pray the Lords prayer quite often, and have been disheartened to hear several preachers in the past couple of years present the idea that Jesus never meant for us to pray it word for word, and I couldn't understand why they would say this. If we have our trust in father, we know through his word he will meet our needs, he knows what I need before I ask, so most of my prayer time starts off with thanks giving, much thanksgiving. The Lords prayer covers every aspect, it is beautiful. Thank you again, God bless you and keep you, you and your family. I am really enjoying listening to your teachings, you expound on them so fully.

When I was a Catholic, I remember saying the Lord's Prayer every day at home, at school and at every service the Lord's prayer is recited as part of the mass. Later when I left catholicism, I found in protestant churches we don't give importance to the Lord's prayer and I was made to believe that it was model prayer and that we are not meant to repeat the same words. I somehow bought into it but a couple of years ago somehow the Lord led me to a source through which I was inspired and started praying it everyday and now today hearing an added perspective from this message overwhelmed me in a good way. One thing I did was to edit the prayer to make it about me in the 2nd half as though Jesus made a mistake... wow. I never was quick to realize that I was there in the us and the ours. How sometimes we are blinded even to the simplest of details. Praise God for this teaching of Tim's.

Some times people ask " How to live a Christian life?". Well, here it is how: It is a prayer, yes -- a Christian life is a prayer and every time you put in practice God's love; you are praying.

Whoo! Powerful stuff. Think I’m going to suggest this to some prayer groups in which I participate. The Lord’s Prayer 3 times/day, regrettable we lost this practice. Let’s see if we can crank it back up. I especially liked the comment about routine or structured prayer not being the problem. The problem is in the spirit of the bored one participating (my paraphrase).

Amazing stuff. I 100% agree with you. This page is actually not run by Tim. Its a compilation of his sermons and teachings only. Tim attended Multnomah Bible College and the University of Wisconsin. He also did a year of studying the dead sea scrolls in Israel. In all he put in 14 years of schooling. You can hear Tim talk a little about his educational journey here: ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-JNyoWLWtL8k.html

I love your lessons, but preaching that Christians should follow Jewish tradition is a little off. Reciting the shema, and reciting the Lord's prayer seem fruitless. Impersonal.

Ed Vogt it's about context. I know and live that Yahshua Hamashiac, Jesus Christ the messiah was Yahweh, God, In the flesh and blood, died and rose again; that he fulfilled the Torah, rest of the TaNaK, Passover, Hanukkah, and all. But does that mean the guidelines and Manuel for our bodies should be disregarded or impersonal? Eating kosher isn't a means to save the soul for salvation anymore, true, but it helps the vessel be clean in which is the tabernacle for the living Host now, amen. May nothing be built upon a poor foundation, and that includes our faith. Learning of God's first chosen people and relating it to modern language is amazing if not necessary to get the full effect imo. Have a wonderful day, evening, night and life brother; I love you.

www.biblegateway.com/passage/?search=Galatians+3&version=NIV Following the law was never a means for salvation - salvation comes only from the grace of god. The distinction we should really make between the time before the Messiah and after, comes by understanding the role of the Holy Spirit for believers. In the time we live in now, after Christs death and resurrection, our relationship to God isn't one where we get back to God the Father exactly, but we get Holy Spirit. Through belief in Jesus, and everything that he does for us, we form a collective to God that binds us by his spirit. This is the Holy Spirit - a truly egalitarian community bound by Christs love. We are no longer bound to the law as the mediator to define our relationship with God the Father. This is exemplified in Christ, in the flesh, bringing us the gift of the Holy Spirit by his death and resurrection as an act of pure love. Because the mediator is now bound to us by Holy Spirit, the law is then no longer necessary. The law was necessary in the time before the Messiah, because Holy Spirit was only found in select few individuals for God's plan to develop, such as David, and throughout the Prophetic scriptures. But, all of this happened so that his son could be sent as a sacrifice for our sins, so we could see what love truly looks like in the flesh, and we can see that God ultimately truly loves us. We can find a collective in Christ's name that gives us all the food we need to truly live the life God wants for us, and that's why we no longer need the law, because Christ mediates our relationship to God the Father by his spirit now living in us.

He does not say that we should recite the Shema, he outlines it. On the topic of the Lord's Prayer, Jesus literally tells his disciples to pray this prayer. If we find spiritual rhythms that Jesus institutes "impersonal" or "fruitless" that is our mistake/problem.
@EmelineFalengameesi
@EmelineFalengameesi 4 года назад
It’s not just about reciting the prayer, it’s about allowing it to convict you. It isn’t fruitless.
@trishaamaral682
@trishaamaral682 2 года назад
Simple recitation is fruitless. But if you are seeking to connect with the heart of God as you speak His inspired words, He will give you life through them. His words, which are life, can be rejected by us, but that is simply because of the condition of our hearts, not because of His word: “From this time many of his disciples turned back and no longer followed him. “You do not want to leave too, do you?” Jesus asked the Twelve. Simon Peter answered him, “Lord, to whom shall we go? You have the words of eternal life.” ‭‭John‬ ‭6:66-68‬ ‭NIV‬‬
