I own a 2001 3.0 and a 2005 3.3 Highlander Another few things I like about them: - Great visibility - Made in Japan (It just feels better compared to the same era of SUV made in North America) It's hard to explain, but if you own a Japanese made Toyota, you get it. - Parts are cheap (although it has a timing belt, so keep that maintenance costs in mind) - Decent MPG for a 4wd SUV. My 01 gets about 22mpg (10.8L/100) highway and my 03 gets about 23mpg (10.2L/100km) during the summer. Winter is worse obviously. - Lots of cargo room, and lots of room in the 2nd row - I like the boxy look of them compared to curvy swoopy modern SUV. - Amazing winter/snow capabilities
I’m glad it was helpful. I am partial to driving a truck in most cases, but the Highlander is a really versatile ride and comfortable. Thanks for watching!
It would be very tight, but you could shelter the storm in there. Trying to do it regularly would be unrealistic. The main back seats are not full flush/flat when they drop down either. I dont know much about the whole rooftop tent thing-or the official weight capacity on the roof rack-but maybe look into that?? Good luck and thanks for watching!
