I'm slowly converting my lighting kit from Godox over to Aputure. The Amaran 200xs is onsale right now and just wanted to reiterate to myself if the 200xs is what I would want. Glad RU-vid served me your video on the top of the search :)
I just use the 200 XS and the 200 D as my key and fell light on the shoot couldn’t have been happier didn’t even need half of the output that they offer. They are solid lights.
@@ReachFilms This was a great video. I currently shoot one person interviews with doctors and need to up my lighting. What diffusion would you recommend? All of the Aputure domes seem a bit confusing, with many loving and hating them. SmallRig looks like they have some good parabolics and softboxes. Thoughts?
I love your channel. Does the fan stay turn on when using it on the 10% or below light. Some lights in this class don't activate the fan unless it needs it. Is this one always on?
@@robertcrain9849 I can’t hear it that low but I’m not sure it’s on or not. It’s pretty much like most lights where you only notice the fan. At higher outputs
@@ReachFilms Ok cool. My old version 200 D had a constant fan and it was always kinda loud. So I am glad to hear that this one is variable and spins slower when not needed. Thanks!
@@robertcrain9849 you got it!! Now I bring this 200x s everywhere as a key, I don’t use the 200d much except as a backup light the 200x s is one of the most color accurate lights ever made and I wish I emphasized that more in this video when I made it.
Hey, ever thought about making some comparisons against your other lights or letting the audience hear how loud the fan is? That would add tremendous value to your video in my opinion.
Hi Jerry! Thanks for taking the time to write to me here. If I had lights that are on hand for comparison I absolutely would have done so, however I don’t feel it’s fair to compare the Amaran 200x S to what I have as the Amaran is clearly much better and outputs much more than my personal lights, which is why I bought this to have on hand. When it comes to the fan noise yes I probably should of added a section showing the noise but I don’t have the original 200x to compare to so wouldn’t have been a fair comparison on that end either.
I haven’t personally used the Colbor. At this point the biggest thing is to use lights within the same company is ecosystem so you could wirelessly control all of them
