Just looking at their stats, you kinda have to take Jude over Vini rn. He had more goals (with less Pens taken), more assists, did better internationally, was La Liga POTS, had only 1 G/A less than Vinicius in the UCL (that difference maker was a penalty), etc etc. Stat for Stat Bellingham's pretty much just had a better season this past year.

Sorry, but claiming Vini should outright win it shows as much bias towards a Real Madrid Player as you claim ESPN has for Messi. He let his nation down with his antics during the copa. 30 G/A all season doesn’t scream „him or it‘s rigged“. Wherever you want to move the goalposts regarding the qualification for the Balon d‘or, there is always another player in the conversation. Stats? multiple players outperformed Vini. Influence? Rodri was arguably the most important player for City. Trophies won? League title and a big Cup: Lautaro, Jude, Rodri… Carvajal won it all and came clutch in the finals. In a season where no attacking player is dominating the stats sheet, i‘d rather give it to a midfielder or defender. and lastly, the balon d‘or is as much, if not more, a sympathy trophy as it is an award for your achievements. And Vini is currently one of the most disliked players worldwide.
