You can fuse a frozen fish or piece of meat to make a frictionless shield aswell. And unlike fusing gems which rely on ememies to hit you, you can use elemental like like stones, they work on shield bash which would allow you to set up a shock aoe whenever you want with and ice element fuse weapon and an electric like like shield.
@@OmegaChu thing is late game, scales are needed for upgrades and they are much harder to come by in this game if you dont use glitches, having dragon parts handy for auto build is good too because zonai devices with a dragon part attached increases the range it stays spawned in
Ruby and Sapphire shields also change the temperature around you, so you can get away with wearing one less piece of cold resistant armor. I assume other elemental materials act similarly, but I haven’t tried them.
Very useful when you don’t have elixirs or foods. I remember wearing heat resistant armor in Gerudo town and even then it was hot. The weapons dropped by those floating wizard enemies work well too. All you have to do is equip it and it works.
The Ruby wand or Ruby weapon fusion is how I made it though the rest of the wind temple after my meal time ran out, and I didn’t want to teleport away and come back 😅
Well then all of Hyrule would fear him. Even Ganondorf and Zelda. Link is already powerful and crazy enough as it is. Seriously, Link will eat rocks to heal up.
oh that's easy: get the yiga armor at the Ancient Akkala Tech Lab, in a complicated cave just west of the Great Hyrule forest, at the southern base of Mount Drena and at the Old Man's House on the great plateau, head over to the yiga's main hideout, go to the training room while having minimum 200 rupees, defeat 3 footsoldiers for the yiga paraglider, then 6 footsoldiers (by paying 100) for the eartwake ability, then 9 footsoldiers for the thunder helm, go to whatever place is thundering with the topaz shield and wearing the thunder helm and BOOM, you won't get shocked. it's THAT EASY :))))))9
Instead if Cart Shields you can try Ice Meat shields instead. It has ice physics makes you go further than carts would. To make one, just toss anything that freezes onto a prime meat or regular meat. Doesnt work on gourmet meats tho
Tip for the cannon: if you start the cannon charge then release when it fires then activate it again it's a shorter cooldown because the first shot takes less time to charge
Insane that you forget about the President Hudson Cutout Shield. No but really, Octo Balloon Shield. Really good for getting height without wasting rockets, and you probably fly around using the Fan Bike anyway. Breaks a few shrines, and you can take those materials out to fuse inside the shrine, instead of needing to exit the shrine just to fuse a rocket. Another fun one is a Frost Emitter shield. Use it as a freezing sidearm before you smack enemies with your heaviest weapon, or blow them off of cliffs or into water with a Korok Frond Weapon. (Can do the latter in reverse with a Fan Shield and an Ice Weapon).
fire/ice fruit do only have one use tho, gems can be used over and over. also gems are so easy and plentiful in this game, absolutely no need to keep hoarding them
PSA it’s best to use a cannon on a weapon (i prefer spears). when you hold R to throw it, instead of aiming to throw, you aim the cannon and when you release it will fire like a gun. the weapon doesn’t throw so you can do pretty quick fire. it’s much easier to aim than the shield and i use it to destroy giant rock walls all the time.
This game truly is remarkable and the amount of ways you can play. It's so hard for me to break out of my ways with Ocarina and Majoras mask being my favorite Zelda games, but the sheer amount of content, replayability and sense of discovery of this game makes it my top for sure
The gleok horn are superior obviously, way harder to find. Have you ever tried fuaing a gleok horn to a claymore ? (Any 2 handed sword works) Try it and let me know if you cn tell how different it is.
It’d be cool if they put in an actual dual wielding ability or something as dlc, I know they won’t but y’know, it’s good to have dreams and aspirations
Yes but the silver lynel horn has the highest attack out of anything fusable in the game with a base attack of 55. Plus weapons still have durability when fused to something so it would break piece by piece instead of all at once
The issue here is that the base damage if most weapons is actually lower than the base danage of many monster parts. The silver lynel horn has a 'fuse power' (attack) of 55. Comparatively, the master sword has a base attack 30 and only reaches 60 during specific boss fights. Additionally, weapons fused onto another object retain their original durability. If you were to fuse a rusted sword onto your shield, it would break pretty quickly. They did not add a durability statistic to monster parts, so that new lynel horn shield will break all at once instead of piece by piece. TLDR: The game wants you to fuse monster part to your equipment, not other pieces of equipment, and will reward you for doing so.
@@brbrlzy piece by piece as in the weapon would break before the shield does, but with monster parts (which just add durability to an item instead of having their own durability) the whole thing would break instead.
So the canon one can actually hurt you if the blast strikes below or around the shield, so it’s a little risky on top of it draining the health of the shield. But it is good on spears
Instead of fusing sapphires/topaz/Ruby’s I fuse gleok horns if you shield bash they send off fire ice or electricity depending on which one you fused I save my gems and fuse them with arrows you can take out a whole enemy camp with a few gems if your high enough in the air especially with a 5X savage lynel bow
@@frieddoorhandles because gems are a lot stronger and the area of effect is way bigger than fruits imo fruits are a waste of inventory space they are just in the way
My favorite is an igneus talus stone heart. It makes your shield capable of breaking ore deposit rocks, it warms the temp around you in cold areas to make you have to use warm armor less, and even melts ice just by standing next to it! Also shield bash to let out a burst of fire to start fires. Been my favorite shield fusion so far
I can’t shield surf to save my life, took me like fifteen minutes to get a Korok atop one of the Hebra peaks… So yeah, my horses are my babies, I just wish they could traverse more difficult terrains sometimes (or better yet, you could ride other animals, like the new Dondons or the one we saw in the teasers. No I’m TOTALLY not salty Loftwings aren’t in the game what do you mean-) At least the Snow and Sand boots don’t require side quests in this game ^^ I’ve already had quite a bit of fun exploring Hebra and the Gerudo desert in this game. I also… am just as bad at sand seal surfing as I am shield surfing. HOW DOES ONE STEER?? 😭 Might try fusing a cart/mine carts/sled to my shields tho and see how it feels, maybe it’ll become easier. The icy meat on a shield tho sounds… even harder than regular shield surfing tho lmao I’m too noob for it
Having a fire element item fused shield will make traveling in the gerudo desert a bit easier. Not having to change out armour every night. You got voe head and armor for heat resist, sand boots to move, and fire shield for cold resist.
Mirror shield is honestly op. It only works in clear day skies or under a light source but it shines a beam that if aimed at the enemy will make them drop their weapons and stop moving for a few seconds and it's especially good in the gerudo boss fight allowing you to deal with the smaller enemies much easier
A really good shield fusion I use all the time is a wing to the Hylian shield. If you shield jump with it it gives a bullet time. Really helps with lynels and other strong enemies.
@@jeremybottoms7619 but what if I don't want to change my armour for some reason, maybe I like the buff it gives me, maybe I straight up just like how the armour looks.
@@jeremybottoms7619 if you're hoverbiking and want a bit of climate resistance but also healthily extended battery, you really don't want to switch your clothes.
@@jeremybottoms7619 it isn't permanent, and it actually takes away your buff. You could wear items better suited for your environment (say a luminous shirt for light, stealth pants for quietness, and a hylian cap for defense) then wear a sapphire shield for heat resistance if you're in the depths near death mountain. But your logic would dictate that I wear the goron suit for heat durability and I'll be a walking, slow, loud target while I stumble in the darkness of the depths.
It’s clever, but the problem is that wastes good materials and shields a lot when they break a lot faster than other weapons do when they are fused together. (Expect the Cart)
My brother discovered the minecart shield on his first playthrough, it was honestly incredible and surprised me and my friend who's a huge TOTK nerd it was so great
There are people who only put in 3 when they say they'll put in 4 examples for people to point it out and get traction, you did 5 instead so I'm giving you that traction
You can use a freezing weapon to create ice in a body of water to stand on to reduce stamina loss from swimming, or fuse the ice square you made to create a fan weapon that also freezes stuff. Fusing to a shield probably is useful too. But as a warning about fusing ice squares to your weapon/shield, the ice "melts"/breaks after a while regardless if you swing it or not...unless you unequip it when not using it.
Fuse like-like stones and you can take advantage of the elemental power earlier in combat by shield bashing. For example, an ice like-like stone can freeze enemies before they get to close to attack you in the first place. So it’s nice to shield bash (incapacitate your enemy) and immediately go in for an attack :D
@Ajay R i am in fact a kid and i already have alot of money saved up because i work everday so i could buy it without problem, the issue is that my parents wouldnt allow me to buy a 70 dollar game because the maximum price for a game i can buy as my parents said is 30
@@Mr_Excuse how often are you allowed to buy a 30 dollar game? maybe next time you get a game you could tell your parents you would like to save the 30 for Tears of the kingdom and continue till you have the 70?
Different items don't actually affect durability differently, no matter what you fuse to a weapon, it always adds the same amount, depending on the base weapon, usually 25
You can also try frozen meat on shields to create a frictionless shield as. For weapons I recommend jewels like topaz or sapphire because they last long and create aoe damage.
DONT use gems- there are better monster parts that do the same things. the ONLY unique gem element is the Opal, but that just shoots water. not the best combat tool. has its uses, but still. save your gems for rod, scepters, & staves, or for selling. ESPECIALLY don’t waste them on an arrow.
Nah gems are so common now. Saphire or ruby on shield negates the need for a lot of armour switxhes or elixers in cold or hot areas. Ruby arrows especially on multi shot bows are just down right broken
gleeok horns allow you to deal the according elemental damage when you parry but putting a gem on the shield will create an explosion when they hit it i like the fact that one cant do the other so both are just as useful also, both gleeok horns and gems will keep you hot/cold
Most of these youtubers are copying other youtubers tips and claiming it as their own. Sadly if you search for totk tips, you'll see many different youtubers quote one another amost verbatim :(
The rocket can give you great lift, BUT it can also be surfed on. Not as efficient, but still fun! Fusing a sled makes shield surfing more manageable in sand and snow.
Cannon spear know as the bomb lance ( I love drifting dragons) is the best way to use the cannon on a weapon I recommend using a mighty zonite spear for extra damage
My personal favorit shild fuse is magma talus heart it adds tones of durability and allows it to smash rocks as well as light things on fire and do a sheild attack when parying
