Overall this video's animation, editing, and info are very high quality. Only thing I noticed was the blue text and it's vfx feel off compared to the animation style. Maybe making all text in the video be part of the animations/emulating that art style would look nicer.

Thank you for your channel, it’s taught me so many things about myself and my loved ones. I would suggest possibly touching on more niche/ specific topics that might not be as commonly discussed, I feel your lighthearted storytelling will bring a sense of peace to those audiences, while still helping them better understand themselves. Also it would be wonderful to hear your viewers stories, and how they healed their wounds! I know it helps me feel better when I can connect with someone whose been through a similar experience. Again thank you for all of your efforts! Your channel is incredible and I believe you are helping so many people! 🤍

I think the reason is honestly because i feel like I’m doing everything wrong. I make deprecating jokes about myself and other people, i justify myself being a jerk because “You have depression it’s not your fault” even when it is. I can’t make myself feel better because i don’t think I deserve it

Don't listen to THOSE negative self talk about Yourself, because it's those demon's or devil's that You are listening to for FEEDBACK, and other people don't actually truthfully see You that way it's ALL just in Your head SO start listening to those ANGEL'S on on Your shoulder instead of those demon's !!!🙂🙂🙂🥰💜💯

@latentpotential4520

I can confirm that trying to talk to yourself in a positive way does in fact feel silly at first, especially if you are like me and you need to say it out loud. But it does feel less silly overtime and it really does help. I think of it like giving myself the same hopeful attitude that I would give to another. I would never be this critical of someone else, so why am I doing it to myself? My most common criticism to myself, "I am so stupid, I can't get this right, I suck", when I notice this voice I challenge it by voicing out loud, "Well that's not fair, or correct. I simply made a mistake, I can get this right." It sounds silly, but it seriously does work. Stay safe and hopeful out there people. You can do this!

Using an indirect title is a smart way to get someone to understand what's being talked about, preempting their paradigms usually has an inverse effect on my critic, so asking for feedback or adding extra subtlety helps distract it so I can absorb the information.

You mention wanting constructive feedback for this video, so I may as well give it a shot. I really love you guys' videos and I think they're pretty helpful too. Especially with this one, I wish there were more as far as like instruction or suggestions on how to get out of that mentality, so to speak. For reference, after a disastrous childhood full of torment, my mind is self--destructive on instinct, and I have the displeasure of being self-aware enough to understand that. This very issue only a month ago ruined my only relationship, causing my then girlfriend to lose all interest with me and leave, having been left heartbroken by the constant self-destructive behaviors, all of which my best efforts have completely failed to fix. Maybe I just need to accept financial ruin and get a therapist who I'd probably not be able to afford to go to for a long time as is, but I've hit that point where I'm desperate to fix my head, I just don't know how to. Like... It's one thing to tell myself little encouraging things, but it's another thing to actually believe that and be able to say it to myself in a way that my own self-destructive mind starts to believe it. Given these recent events, it's really just kinda sent me spiraling down and making everything even worse, having lost any hope for a better tomorrow and only even waking up in the morning because "I have to" as opposed to literally anything else. That inner critic you mention is definitely there in my head, though it's a bit more than just a critic, it's more a malicious being that seeks little more than my total demise; my subconscious always tells me how useless I am constantly, always doing so in ways that strike the more vulnerable areas and in a way that I can't really ignore or discredit. It's not like the mental filtering where the good comments and everything are filtered out, it's more that the good feedback is just not there at all. Usually people don't take my issues seriously because I'm supposed to be a strong man, about to graduate college in less than a month, supposed to be an adult who takes care of himself. Society tells me that I have to be self-sufficient and able to solve my own problems, when my best efforts in fixing those problems is just not enough to yield any meaningful results. I never know if or when I do anything right, and even if I do, that's how it was supposed to be anyways, and is thus not worth praising or remarking on by anyone else. I definitely want to challenge that inner voice and hopefully even overcome it someday, but it's like a regular human being standing before a titanic behemoth of a foe, it's just not something that in any way appears to be a fair comparison, it appears so daunting and discouraging and with no clear way forward, it's tough to start, or even to accept good things as the self-destructive thoughts and instincts always destroy that happiness before it ever really forms to begin with. I apologize for the ranting, I hope you have a good day.
@AwwwThatsMintocs
@AwwwThatsMintocs Год назад
My humble suggestion is to consistently start taking small steps. They will stack & in a few months you'll be that little but better & stronger. As long as you refuse to stay down you will never be broken. If your mind/spirit has been broken & you have lost hope... remember when a person chooses to get up & fight after having been broken they become stronger than they have ever been before. Even the mightiest foe will fall in due time so long as you keep on chipping away; landing blow after blow.
@valethar8067
@valethar8067 Год назад
@@AwwwThatsMintocs I suppose so, though I am curious, would that mentality of continuing to chip away and endure still work as well when the foe is within your own mind? Like I have no plans on giving up right about now, I'm just immensely discouraged and unmotivated, daunted by the overwhelming force that is my malicious subconscious that I've displayed an inability to fix.
@AwwwThatsMintocs
@AwwwThatsMintocs Год назад
@@valethar8067 chipping away at the foes within your own mind is essential. One can not run away from their own mind. The two choices you have are let it defeat you or start fighting & keep fighting until you win. Battles will be won & lost along the way but winnings the war is what's really important. Sometimes a person must fight for the rest of their lives but so long as they continue fighting they will never lose the war.

My teachers in middle school and high school actually wanted me to have bad thoughts about myself, they said that having a positive self image is narcissistic and that having self-esteem is sinful. They didn't like that I was an underachiever but they also didn't know I had lymphoma. Even after they found out, they still chalked my bad grades up to me being a "ret@rd" because another kid fell ill with DIPG (which is always terminal) and he still got straight A's all throughout his 11 month battle from diagnosis to death. Some of my therapists also said the same thing, that I should use negative self-talk and never take anyone's compliments seriously. They claimed that those who have nice things to say about me are just trying to inflate my ego and strengthen my arrogance.

I think I do have intrusive thoughts, but not only about myself. Sometimes I can be around someone else, and have sudden thoughts about harming them. Like if they were holding a puppy, I would think about what would happen if I threw the puppy on the floor. Now I love puppies, and the thought of harming them really disturbs me. It's not that I feel like I want to harm them, it's just that I suddenly imagine really bad scenarios happening because of me, and these thoughts are out of my control, and they make me really upset and guilty even though I didn't do anything or even want to do anything.

Interesting. This was a very common topic this week, that "we all live in the negative" and we need to move towards a new momentum where we start with the positive. It's very hard. Our group has a talk about "Positive Professional Identity" -- perhaps team up for a podcast on this topic in the future if it's of interest to your team.

Lately I've been picking myself apart and thinking I'm a narcissist, and I feel like a bad person if I am. Makes it hard to get help if I can only dwell on my own negativity and not just understand my traits and work on them

As a college student, while I may seem like I'm giving good advices to strangers. Bottom line is, I have a hard time accepting positive reinforcement. I guess it could be due to the loneliness I feel at my college when I'm so far away from the people who care for me the most. At times I'd convince myself to take drastic actions and for no reason. I've consulted a therapist about this problem and while I said this to my therapist. I would continue to have these thoughts in my head that "no one likes me". I was required to take a test at my university regarding my personality. The results came out as likely to have depression. Which I would have to agree on.

The animation style is pretty good, I think the backgrounds pop out a bit though so maybe you should make the background colors duller and the characters or main points of interests a bit brighter and vibrant so that the main objects take people's interest.

Just like the video says, I must practice "Gratidute". Tis' a good way to feel happier towards everything that happen, good or bad. Jokes aside, I couldn't watch the whole video as my ADHD and OCPD brain kept thinking about the way it was misspelled. Please make sure your script is gramatically correct ; I don't wanna be a grammar police, but I can't keep watching your videos when there are spelling errors like that I really enjoy them and learn from each of them, but yeah.. I can never make it to the end of your videos that contain errors of the like. "Gratitude" I am grateful for your videos. I want to keep watching them. Thank you!! :) Also : I am probably going to get destroyed in the comments.. but I stand my ground.

My solution to prevent me from doing something with the high possibility of bad outcome is to either do not do it outright or consult with someone I trusted first. If it's still ended in failure, then at least, it's not my fault alone. It's the fault of the one who advised me to do it with the permission to do it.

To combat the negative thoughts about myself I use tough love. For example: I often find myself thinking I'm too old for success in music then I respond with "Bull sh*t! I'm only 56 yo. People will be amazed that an 'old' man made himself successful starting at middle age!" Or "I hate myself." My response is "SHUT UP! I DO love myself! I'm a good man. I deserve to be loved by myself! It's okay to love myself. Just so long as I'm not "in love" with my self. I'm a good boy!" Believe it or not this works for me. Maybe it'll work for someone else.

Amazing video! I’m surprised you wanted feedback for something that was as well done as this, so the only constructive critique I can give is to specify a research study or two to validate one of your four points or the advice you give at the end of the video. Aside from that, great stuff, and I trust that your team won’t mentally filter this comment, either😉

"nobody likes me" Yeah my kind of mindset. Well I mean I convince myself of that, but there's one person who kinda valorates me as a friend. So I Guess there's a exception to the rule. And to me isn't one event, they're repetitive events reminding me a idea. And I don't think one mistake leads to failure, but yes to be judged harshly. That was what happened on my childhood, so yeah. Childhood traumas. Except for exams. It's the only thing I'm chill about. But maybe too chill. I don't feel It's worth the worrying. And when I broke with my ex yeah. I felt like I was in fault and I was a complete monster... Until I realized It was the other way around and she never loved me and was manipulating me. I know my value as a close person to someone. I know I'm kind and hearing, and sweet when trying to give advices. However, It's a thing I often forget. But sometimes I do realize how some of the advices I give would also world on myself. Even if the execution wouldn't, as It wouldn't make me beleive on It with my mindset. And honestly, It's been this year the only moment on my Life, I started being kind to myself. I've been self torturing myself since I got memory. By what others said, what others thought, how they acted against me, etc .. Even with a 8 Years everyday daydreaming on a seeking for answers, It wasnt until this year I realized how harsh I am on myself (I started meditating when I was 10) Until now I thought I did something to deserve It all. However when you do wrong, you deserve a punishment, but not a constant reminder, or a torture. The measures taken were too harsh for what was done on most cases. That's why I don't Tell anything to my father. And most times even forget he's at home, even if he changed 3 Years ago. Because when I was a kid he was too harsh screaming for anything and throwing the blame to me and my brother and sister, screaming that crying is Dumb (reason why I cannot cry anymore even if I force It. Unless a anxhiety attack or a hit by nostalgia. But even then they're barely one to three tears) And the personalization is indeed very harsh. I allways think It's something I've done, or a image I accidentally created over the other person of myself. Thinking they'll hate me, or they dislike me from the very first moment by my social trauma. And about negative things. Depends how Big the negative thing is comparing to the positives. But most likely, yeah. I've been in a toxic ambience for long time. I'm not surprised I ended up this way. And about black and White I'm more a dark gray. I still see the gray of the things but my mind IS too pesimistic to stay in the gray and kinda.balances more to the negative side.

I haven't gotten to your tips yet, so you may have covered this, but the most effective technique I have found is to turn "I never do anything right" or "everything is bad" or other mental filtering into, "What can I do to improve things?" That satisfies the urge to say things aren't perfect, and also claims the power to make things better. Win-win!

I have a problem with being incredibly negative to myself and repackaging it as me being “honest”. I would just completely trash myself and hurt my own feelings and I would just say that it was just being honest. My therapist to me it was pretty toxic to think about myself that way.

i am gifted in arts and everyone aknowledged that but when it comes to my art teacher, he always told me that i did something wrong and i didnt quite understood what he meant. I have tried months and months and months perfectionalizing myself almost daily, but it wasnt enough. It felt like the world was falling apart. I also wanted some opinions from others but it seemed that i id worse than ever. And now i don t draw anymore. I don t have thr courage to be criticized again, i do not have the energy and the inspiration to draw again, i dont have the right pencils and i dont even have A3 pages anymore. I enjoyed drawing since i was a kid and i still like it, but i dont feel the spark in it. I have been treated really bad when it comes to my drawings bc they should be all perfect and i cant achieve that. maybe i will draw after a month, but i havent draw since december 2022.
