My dad had a limited edition 1 of 1 2007 Wrigly Winterfresh SRT8 Charger with the interior designed by a Nascar driver David Stremme, and its color was a dark flakey grey with ghost black racing stripes. Then at only 38k miles some idiot ran a red light and totaled it, and insurance only replaced it with an R/T, so we had a 2010 Charger R/T and traded it in for a 2014 Charger R/T 100 Year Anniversary Edition, then traded that in for a 2017 Daytona 5.7.
I didn’t know the Dub edition was a special edition. When I seen those I thought people found dub badges and put them on the car. The more you know. 🤷🏾♂️
My dad bought the ‘08 Daytona brand new. He wanted the new (at that time) SRT8 Challenger, but dealers were marking them up $20k, so he “settled” on the Daytona for its hemi orange paint. When we were pricing them out online we had no idea just how special they where. Not just because of their limited numbers, but also all the amazing memories we’d create bonding over this piece of amazing machinery. It was the car that got me addicted to Mopars. I remember him letting me play hookie from school just so we could go cruising around in it. We spent a lot of time together around that car, upgrading all sorts of suspension and performance parts. Its the car I learned how turn wrenches on. It’s the car I learned to drive in. It’s the car I took my now wife out in on our first date. It’s the reason I drive a Challenger now. It’s such a special car with special memories, and to me that’s why it’s the best one on the list. Sure, chargers come with nicer interiors now and all sorts of new technology. They have a trim for just about every persons taste. They are quicker then the ‘06-‘09’s, but that generation will always have a special place in my heart.
Joseph Tomb Got the hemi orange 08 sitting in my garage. 90k miles on it, great condition and no problems. My dad bought it new for 28k when they were listed just over 40k. I bought it from him last year and have never looked back. Grew up with my dad having that car and ive now got a wife and kid. Needed a "family car" with 4 seats but wanted to keep some power. Love this car to death, glad you have one as well! Lol
I LOVE that you saved the best for last. The M11 is the best thing Mopar has ever done for Chargers. The Black on Black is amazing and the Mopar Blue stripe just makes it perfect.!
Like your video and some of the cool chargersl in it , you definitely should have part two and cover 2012 thru 2014 models some nice chargers there too love the look of them still today. I had a 2013 and then upgraded to a 2019 model, definitely recommend it.
Part 2 will be well received!! And my favorite was the 2009 Super Bee, an SRT8 performance for less. How about a video of Charger R/T Road and Track edition?? That model was limited production too!
leonardo aldaco I bought an 06 Daytona too, be careful with them. The engine went out 2 days after I bought mine, I just swapped the engine out and working on the little kinks with it

Actually saw the Dodge Challenger super Bee in real life driving down the highway and Dodge charger Daytona I like the Super Bee and the Mopar Edition☺
Which one? The Daytona might be the best for me the bee is a lil to much but I would want a yellow Daytona or else id just rather have an R/T awd or a bee cuz I prefer black&yellow

Nice work on this vid I'm a long time owner of a first gen Charger and your info was good. My car is an AWT Performance Package car which is commonly known as the R/T R&T. There are a couple of extra things that set the 06-09 Daytonas and the R/T R&T cars apart which would be the 30mm front sway bar (which was on some but not all SRT8 models at the time) and they had a special 9-land steering box that did give a bit more heft to the steering feel. You were spot on with the exhaust and intake, a common mod was for folks to get a Daytona (or R&T) or SRT intake for their R/T since the intake was a larger diameter and had that smooth top lid. Another minor item is the stock brake pads were more aggressive on the AWT cars. The Daytonas (and R/T R&T) cars in 2006 came stock with 235/55/18 Michelins where the normal R/Ts had 225/60/18 as well. As you indicated in 2007+ they all had the 20 inch terrible chrome clad wheels! For Exhaust the regular R/Ts had a triple pass "suitcase" muffler in the middle of car where the Daytonas and R&T cars had single pass with the Daytona having very few perforations making it very throaty and the R&T having the single pass with a bunch more perforations making it louder than regular R/T but different from Daytona.
I had a 2006 Daytona in Top Banana #1968, in 2013 I traded in for the 2013 Daytona #0973 in Daytona Blue Pearl Coat. I would love to see that one included in your 2nd video on the special editions.
Marspeed Thanks, a couple of questions that maybe you can get answer for the 2013 Daytona Edition. I know that they made 3000 of them, they came in other colors than the Daytona Blue Pearl. White, Black and Silver. Do you know how many were made in Daytona Blue Pearl? My 2006 Daytona came with a Mopar catback exhaust. Did the 2013? I do not notice a difference in the exhaust from my 2013 Daytona and a regular R/T. The promotional pictures showed the car with 4 round exhausts, but my car came with standard square exhaust. My mom has a 2006 Dodge Charger R/T Daytona in Torred and it delivers a good amount of power paired with a good tune and a manga flow exhaust system. Hers is fully loaded except for the dvd system and the only problem is that the decals fade really quick. Good sporty reliable car that still gets stares 12 years later.
I owned a 2007 super bee. #470/1000 and I still have the 1:24 numbered model srt sent you after you bought the car. Great memories and still regret getting rid of that car.
You missed the Super RT (Road and Track) R29 there were fewer made then the Daytona, very similar to the Daytona but no strips. I have a 09 Super RT(Road and Track) R29/R24. Was told by the dodge rep it was one of maybe 100.
I have #3648 of Go Man.Go Orange. Amazing cars. Gonna change my gears to 3.23 after my tune from Jay Greene. 2.82 is a little too much highway gearing for me.
I was lucky enough to buy a mopar 11 #390, the other chargers your able to still buy them still from what I seen online, but a mopar edition, super hard and rare to find, well where I live that is. Nice video though! :)
My auto shop high school teacher had a plum crazy Daytona charger so beautiful unfortunately it caught on fire and burned to the ground. He had put a after market hood on it but luckily he had the oem hood safe on the wall at school. He wrote the build number and signed it
A guy that owns a business up the road from my work has a Mopar 11'. Used to tgink he just threw a dumb blue stripe on. Im gonna have to check for that Mopar badging. If its there i gotta give him props.

I'm goin sell my '06 Charger Daytona for 17k. My fam disagreed with me at first, but I reminded him that the older the car, the more value it has. Especially if it's a rare car like the one I got
I own a 2006 R/T r/t, Road and Track Edition, known as the Performance package, 5.7, 350 hp stock. Basically the Daytona without the badging and stickers, more of a sleeper. She's got 430 hp to the wheels now...lol.
