Mad Max....Probably making the el diablo for my Halloween party. That one seems to be prep-able and has a bit of show...Also Mules are always in demand so lots of ginger beer.
Same! I’d never even tasted crème de cassis but that recipe seemed so accessible I bought a bottle to try it out. Definitely one of my favorite cocktails on a warm day.
For the Cacao Nib infusion, you can really amplify that chocolate flavor by toasting the nibs breifly In a skillet. I let them infuse a full day at room temp and it is absolutely delicious.
El Diablo has been one of my favorite to make for the past few months ever since I started mixing cocktails. My dad loves it, I love it, the presentation is cool, it's just so cool. Thanks for the list Anders :D
Love all these drinks, but also - I didn’t see the sexy cow coming at all. 😊 I really enjoy the fun, inspirational and helpful tone you have- it’s always a delight. As an old talking heads fan I’ll definitely will try the Psycho killer!
My original idea for this years Halloween party was to make a batch of Black Manhattans, but decided instead to make like a Clover Club, but with blackberry syrup instead of raspberry. I'm sure it'll turn out great and should please everyone, Clover Club is my fiance's favorite drink and I love blackberries so been eager to try that. Last year I made a batch of El Presidentes and people really liked 'em.
LOVE LOVE LOVE the "Anders Originals" you put on the channel. They always strike a great balance which meshes so well with my tastes. Cheers to you and Az!
Love the idea behind the Black Dragon #13. Anders original cocktails are yet to disappoint so I have to give this a try. Bonus points for the Dragon's Milk as that is a local brewery for me and one of my favorite stouts!
Fun, I'll try a couple of those. Here are mine I came up with for the season. 1.5oz dry gin, 1oz pomegranate juice, .5oz dry vermouth. Stir with ice and strain into martini glass. Garnish with lyche fruit stuff with blue berries. I call it the Red Eye. Also, 2oz Crown green apple, .5oz caramel whiskey (I use a local stillery Sacred Staves) squeeze of lemon juice, stir with large ice cube.
Just made the Black Dragon but I used Mr Black instead of cold brew concentrate. It might be a little sweeter because of that but it’s still so good! Also made the Rattle Skull from your last video and love that too 🤘🏻. Thanks for making these great videos, Love them all!
I have a recommendation! For the garnish on the Black Dragon, you could sprinkle ground coffee (like a nice light roast), or you could also garish it with some large chocolate curls!
100% will do the Black Dragon #13. From Grand Rapids with a New Holland right down the street. Also, fun fact, my buddy and I are going as Dragon's Milk for a Halloween party. I have a dragon costume and he has a milk carton costume. Together...Dragon's Milk. Love the videos Anders. Also Bartenders Blend coffee is phenomenal.
The the psycho killer is a pretty good one. I tend to shake it though, with just a bar spoon of lemon juice. Lightens it up quite a bit. Enjoy your weekend Anders 🍹
Just tried the Black Dragon No 13 and damn is that a winner. I wasn't too sure how it was going to turn out, like how the beer would balance with the rest of the ingredients. But this is probably the best beer cocktail I've made. The stout, coffee, averna play really well. The 1/4 oz rich demarara provides the perfect extra sweetness to combat the stout, and the cognac perfectly worked together with everything else, which was a delightful surprise. Way to go!
I'm going to make some diy swedish punsch, and try out the Haunted House. The diy swedish punsch uses Cachaca and a lemon as it's base with a clove and cardamon mixed w/ a black tea syrup.
Fill an inverted lime cup with grenadine & float it in a Paloma to make it *spooky/bloody* (& tamp down the sharpness of the grapefruit if that's a problem).
I made the Black Dragon No. 13 last night for the House of the Dragon finale and loved it! I'm waiting for my Liber & Co. shipment so that I can make The Haunted House to complete the quartet. 😊
I definitely want to try the Psycho Killer. Living in San Francisco, I often find reasons to try new uses for Irish whiskey. Thanks for the suggestion.
We made the Black Dragon № 13 and found it too sweet. Made the next one minus the Demerara syrup and made the volume up with extra cognac. Much better! We call this variant the Black Dragon № 14, of course.
Oooh, the Psycho Killer intrigues me a lot. I'll need to start infusing some Campari! I'll need to try the Black Dragon No. 13! Thanks for the great video Anders!
I've been thinking of more smoky, fiery options recently thanks to being in the UK and having a renewed interest in celebrating Guy Fawkes Night this year... But that Psycho Killer has me intrigued, I just can't imagine those flavours combined so perhaps a little research is in order... :)
A thumbs up for using an honestly really good drink which is Dragons Milk, I didn't think it would be good at first but that was before I tried it and dang was it just so good by itself, but now I want to try the cocktail that was made here, getting me excited to grab some bottles and make some good drinks.
I hate myself for not having all the liquours for making all your drinks, i'm fascinated with your content, greetings from Argentina and Venezuela (try Venezuelan Rum btw)
A bit of a change up from me on the Black Dragon (no14 😉)Anders, Fiji Ratu Rum 8yo, instead of the cognac, no dem syrup the rum is sweet enough, and an Australian vanilla porter from Brick Lane brewing. Sensational channel and great content, well done bloke, cheers Mate.
I made a round of Black Dragon 13’s for some friends tonight during the House of the Dragon finale and they were a huge hit! The flavors compliment the beer so perfectly. Thanks!
Love the Nick and Nora glass. Also, for whatever reason, and randomly so, the phrase “…a rich Demerara syrup” clangs around in the Ol’ coconut throughout my work day. 🍹 🍸 🥥
Love the El Diablo! My local store did not have creme de cassis, so instead, I used creme de violet (much more purple!) but it still tasted amazing. Spicy ginger beer makes it. I recommend it to everyone!
Hey, Anders. Love your videos. Always informative AND entertaining. Did the Haunted House tonight. Didn't have the puncsh, so sub'd my homemade spicello. Sounded like the spices were similar. Delish!
Love love love Nick and Zamora glasses. Binged the Thin Man movies and had to purchase some of these beautiful glasses. Great ideas for the season. Thanks for the content. We are Patreon members and we support you and we love your channel 👍
Nothing better than sipping the Psycho Killer at the Dead Rabbit! But I'm looking forward to trying this version at home. Thanks, Anders. When in NYC, Amor y Amargo is also a must-stop.
A small dragon scale or fang would have been the perfect decoration for that wonderful last potion (it is Halloween after all...). What do you mean "where to find a scale or fang?", little dragons are adorable when they grow up, they may play a little rough sometimes (what up, Singed-Eyebrows?), but that's where they can shed a baby scale. They are teething as well, so fangs are definitely around. You just have to know where to look. And make sure there are no dragon mamas around... (Btw, for those who are fans of the Diablo video game series... anybody remember the secret "Cow level" in Diablo II? Anders may have inadvertently tipped a hat to that)
BLACK DRAGON No. 13!! Every ingredient in that is amazing - pleasantly surprised to see Averna! All my local bottle shops have run out of Averna this year and I've been dying & trying to make do with Fernet Menta. I have every other ingredient here, so this was the sign I needed - time to go track down this amaro so I can make this today!
@@AndersErickson Update: snagged Averna from Curiada (thank you:), tried a nearby Package store for a stout, any stout-and I shit you not, they sold ALMOST NO BEER, only a few hundred liquors, but among the 2 beers in the entire store was Dragon's Milk. That, plus you stirring me with my fave amaro, was clearly a sign I needed to make the BLACK DRAGON No. 13 on this day. This drink is phenomenal! It's what Renaissance Faire beer/mead cocktails wish they were, it's what barleywines dream of tasting like, and it absolutely carries a thematic spooky flavor. THANK YOU for making these videos and sharing your taste with the rest of us!!!
Hey Anders what about hot drinks? This is a chilly time of year and traditionally I do “Apple Pie-der” made famous by Gastrognome in Idyllwild…it has tuaca, brandy and applejack with hot honey crisp cider, whipped cream and freshly grated nutmeg. It’s an outstanding hot drink for Halloween 🎃 try it out!
Made a haunted house (with falernum as a sub for the Swedish punsch) - delicious. Made a psycho killer… omg.. another name could be ‘creepy clown’ or ‘roller coaster train wreck’ one sip says I’m going to regret this tomorrow.. 😂
That Fiery Ginger Syrup has a wonderful warmth to it. I use it for ginger whiskey sours. I think I'll grab some Creme de Cassis and make an El Diablo. Cheers, Anders!
You could try making it if you're up for an adventure! Haven't tried this recipe - but it's a starting point: www.seriouseats.com/diy-swedish-punsch-recipe-for-cocktails
Really liked your Black Dragon, although I used coffee liqueur and no syrup. I wonder which beer would fit this cocktail the most. Probably something not really distinct, no baltic porters, maybe something more neutral?
lol at sexy cow. Hey Anders, I was just thinking, isn't it about time for another episode of Tales from the Bar? Maybe as a Christmas present for your faithful viewers???
Mmmm dragons milk is my favorite beer. Thanks for making a cocktail with it! Man, within two weeks, you’ve made some of my most anticipated drinks- gotta get to the store!
I do like the El Diablo and want to try the rest. That Black Dragon sounds good and I do have Dragon’s Milk already. Just need all the other ingredients…
