I’m so glad you were able to make breastfeeding work! My two siblings and I were all successfully breastfed on one breast, my mom had a single mastectomy and chemo 4 years before her first baby. She was the first the local lactation consultant had ever seen breastfeeding after a mastectomy! Only my older sibling needed a little supplementation, but mainly because he was a bigger baby and was extra hungry. It’s great that you are making videos like this, when my mom was diagnosed at 27 (almost 25 years ago) she didn’t know of anyone else with a similar experience and really felt alone. Your channel is a great resource for young survivors and young people at high risk for breast cancer. ❤
Thank you so much for sharing your mom's/your story! What an amazing woman she is! I'm sorry she felt so alone. That is the exact reason why I'm driven to share! I was told by my nurse that your body doesn’t know if you’ve had one baby or twins. Your milk adjusts according to how much is removed. Most moms struggle initially when breastfeeding. I know I did. I hated the breast pump. So glad it worked out for you.
That's what I kept thinking too (the body being able to adjust to twins)! I actually still use the pump, it has been a very useful tool for me thankfully. Thank you for your support♡♡!
