I'm not sure if anyone has had issues with extension of visa or visa waiver recently. I went onto the website and filled out the requirements that were asked only to get a message saying the recent entry date was incorrect. I did this several times and decided to give up and go to the immigration office personally and it took only 5 minutes. I would suggest if you plan to extend and arrive in terminal 3 you can just go upstairs and do the extension. Another issue is they say to call the 24 hr hotline. The issue there is that it's a landline and you must be sure to have ample load (credit), on your phone. The Philippines is a little behind in times when it comes to technology and the internet and this can make you frustrated especially when you come from a place that is up to date with technology etc etc. Never be rude or take your frustrations out on the government officials because this will give you a one way ticket back home.
We just got back from the Philippines. Korean AIr ruined our whole trip and took 2 days off of our so-called vacation. This was the 1st week of November 2023. I should have known all these tips before going like the sim card and everything. Based on our experience, we made sure we had E-travel on our way there and on the way back and it was only asked once from us and no one even bothered to look for them in NAIA. Thank you for your information.
My experience, with Korean Airlines in Nov 2018, was great!! All went smoothly for this still strokes disabled dude traveling by wheelchair ♿️. I have nothing but great things to say about all 3 of my flights to the Philippines 🇵🇭 since 1999( 1999, 2018 and final one, to stay here on a tourist visa for now in 2022- post covid) I hope my exit clearance flights ✈️ to local countries in SE Asia will continue this trend of great and professional luck!! Real talk&Nuff Said!! Much love and happy holidays to all!! Yes, si, chai ( Thai), dung ( Vietnamese), ja, oui, Oo ( tagalog filipino for Yes) Thurl G money ( one of my many nicknames) ghost, roger out, peace and Adios!!❤🎉😊
Hi Jennifer. I living in Iloilo i was unable to extend more than 2mos at a time. However i recently extended for 6mos in Manila. I noticed in this vlog, you stated only 2mos extension. Did i miss something? A recent change? You are a real asset to visitors and expats. Thank you!
or you can buy your own international sim at your own country and load with 2 months in case you get stuck lol only reason they take cash is to avoid paying taxes lol , in canada nobody takes any more cash its only debit or credit cards lol
So I just arrived in Manila on Monday morning from the U.S. I had my onward ticket and I did my E-Travel. The day before my departure I was able to check-in online and I received my electronic boarding pass( I was never able to do this before). I get to my departing airport and went to the counter to check my bag. She never asked for my onward ticket or my E-Travel. I asked her if she needed to check but she said "nope you're all set"....so I was just wondering why I never needed to present these requirements???
Some gate agents/ airline staff are more thorough than others (re: onward ticket). The e-travel data has been linked to your passport - sometimes it's checked, sometimes not.
Airlines don't always check if you have all entry requirements set anymore. They did vigurously shortly after Covid because they'd get fined by PH government if they brought a tourist that couldn't enter the PH, but now that "service" seems to disappear. You definetly need the E-Travel for immigration in the Philippines though, if you don't have it the officers there will send you to a little corner with an agent to fill out the online questionnaire right then and there. And the onward/return ticket... well, it's mandatory for immigration to get a visa-on-arrival if you're not a balikbayan, but like many rules and laws the execution of that is spotty. Some officers won't check your ticket and you're fine, some officers will demand to see your onward ticket and deny you entry if you don't have one (rightly so according to current filipino law).
Thanks for this information. I will be visiting the Philippines in February. I will definitely check in with you before then. I’m sure you’ll have some updates for us.
What about the airline when you were about to check in to departure and boarding Did someone of airline ask you about a return ticket before boarding to flight to Philippines ?
I’m staying for 4 mnths. Came in via Manila. Went to level 3 BIR, for 29 day extension - no problem BUT you can only do it on arrival - don’t leave the airport and return to do later - they won’t do it at the airport! Also the max. for your 1st extension they will give is 29 days. So for me, I will need to extend again ( next time for 6 mnths). Last time i came in Dec. 2022, the 2nd time I extended after 59 (30 + 29) ydays expired, they gave an ext. of 6 months (even tho. I only needed 7 more days.) I had no choice that is the rule. So the extension for Aussies is; 30 day visa on entry, then extra 29 days, then extra 6 mnths. Good luck.
Helpful video 👍🏼👍🏼👍🏼 Concerning the dollar exchange, I was recently denied 100 dollar bill to be exchanged, they said the bills looked to new and thought to be fake… Manila
Hi Jennifer, how about if a foreign national has no return ticket yet cuz wanted to extend visa just for another 1 week or 2 weeks? Does still need to get a return ticket . And also still thinking for the date of return if will extend for 1 week or 2 weeks, then what date of return to put in E-Travel return date questio?
@@JenniferTerri yes I arrive tomorrow as a frequent tourist to Luzon. I will stay at the DUSIT In Makati a favourite hotel on my list . Come over after 6.30 pm I will shout the beers etc great to see you online
I have a one way ticket as I’m planning to remain in the Philippines and will apply for a 13A visa when I arrive. I’ll get Balikbayan privilege on arrival so don’t think arriving on a one way ticket will be a problem. Do you agree?
Do I still have to buy a throwaway ticket if I’m staying beyond 30 days? I think I heard in video that I can tell them at airport immigration I will be getting extensions! Thanks for the help!
Miss Terry I am a former Filipino citizen coming home in Sept. but I bought one way ticket kasi pag balik ko sa March I intend to take my Sister with me na may US visa na. Di ako hahanapan ng return ticket kasi Balikbayan ako, correct? Pls respond. I trust your infos. Thank you!
Jennifer I got here in Cebu end of September the only issue I had was before I could exit the airport they made me fill out a paper etravel even though I did it online before I arrived
The website I used to get my ticket I had to fly from a small town here in the us to LAX then to Taipei. But My flight to Lax since it was a package deal the Jet Blue did ask for the return ticket before they would issue my flight .Now once I got to LAX Eva air didnt ask .
If you're saying cash is king, how much money does a person have to carry on them? Is it dangerous to carry money there? Don't you have debit cards? You just go to an ATM.Take out money as you need it.I think it's sasir
What about the airline when you were about to check in to departure and boarding Did someone of airline ask you about a return ticket before boarding to flight to Philippines ?
Do you have a vid on the onward pass thing? Its confusing. At what point do you buy an onward ticket. Its said they are only about $16.00. I herd they are only good for 14 hrs or so. This would mean you'd have to buy your onward ticket roughly the same day. How do you get this ticket, by email, would you then print it or just show it to the airline your using.
Good to see you again Jennifer. Yes all this information is important. I’m coming there for the first time to meet my LDR in Manila. Do you would recommend staying in a local hotel for 1 or 2 days before going to my GF???im going to be traveling almost 26 hours to get there
Hello. Your video is very much informative. My name is Koushik from India. I hold a visa of the USA. Actually I am going to USA for the first time and during my journey it will be convenient for me if I go through the Philippines in the following way. Kolkata(India) to Bangkok then from Bangkok to Manila (Philipine) then from Manila (Philipine) to Honolulu (USA). I have seen in the portal of PAL portal they have said to fill out the itinerary before 72 hours of departure. So since I would like to go through multiple countries is there any problem that can arise even after filling out the form?
I intend to come and settle in the Philippines for at least one year or longer so I won't have a return ticket I shall apply for a visa after 3 weeks. Is that a problem?
Hi Jennifer. Thank you very much for your details information. It is great help for me to plan a 1st trip to Philippine. However, I heard that there are a lot of scams in the airport when go through X-Ray or with your check-in luggage (the custom officers sneak ILLEGAL stuffs in your check-in luggage or stole items from you when you go through X-Ray). Is that true? Is it still currently existed that I need to be aware especially sneak illegal stuffs in check-in luggage? How can I avoid this? I want to take Philippine Airline and likely to be in Terminal 1. Please advices. Thank you for your time.
Im interested in this as well but I got so much conflicting information I call the consulate. They said the best thing is to get my visa online and mail them the documentation with a self addressed stamped envelope. I wanted the 59 day stay and didn't want to buy 2 one way tickets.

Thanks for continuous updates. Have you found out if israel and brazil first extension can be 2 months ? And have you noticed what are the usual atm fees?
The ATM fees are a charge of around $5.25 for each $200 you withdraw. Most if not all Philippines banks only allow you to withdrawal $400.00 dollars per day. At most Philippine ATM's you can only withdraw $10,000 PH pesos, so you'll have to withdrawal twice to be able to take out the daily $400.00 dollars!!!! $10,000 pesos = $200.00 U.S. dollars. 👍
Hi miss Jennifer is my fiance needs to exit and re entey again in the Philippines after every 59 days, within the 6 months extension? We're so confused. I hope anyone can answer this question
I know I need a round trip ticket, but want to know if I can have separate one way tickets? Reason being, I plan to fly back stateside with my fiance and need to buy two alike return tickets for us. Please inform me if this is ok. Thank you.
I don't know why Phillipines not give free visa or simple visa to big countries like India , china Taiwan 😔😔😔 , it's really head pain to get visa to Phillipines as indian, if i wanna enter Phillipines everytime i need to get Singapore visa and they give only 14 days validity , it will easier atleast if Phillipines gives us E-visa like Singapore
If you are entering PH as a tourist (w/o your wife), then yes you'll need an exit ticket. If travelling with your wife, no need exit ticket but need your marriage certificate. If travelling as a 13A or 13G (permanent resident) visa holder, no need exit ticket.
Hi Jenn, I’m going back to the States next month,do I still need to register etravel or any other requirements that need attentions. Thank you.I’m former Filipino citizen.
Hello Jennifer, great site I really enjoy it and the information you provide is really needed, traveling to Cebu next year, LAX to Cebu, so are my bags checked all the way to Cebu, do I have to go thru custom all bags in Manila or Cebu, thanks.
It depends. If it's one airline all the way to Cebu, then your luggage will be claimed in Cebu. If you'll change airlines in Manila, you'll have to pickup your luggage in Manila. Regardless, you'll pass through Immigration (passport control) in Manila or your 1st port of entry.
@@kitty_s23456 I have flown from LAX several times, and I always try to get a flight that connects in Korea, Taiwan, China etc even if it takes a little longer JUST TO AVOID MANILA!
What if you are going to travel around the country and are not going to stay in one place for more than a day? If traveling around, I would have no idea where I am going to stay until I get somewhere I want to stay for one or more days.
Hi Miss Jen what if you are traveling with a foreign husband does he still need a return ticket as a requirement or not necesarry? Anyone also have ideas
2 weeks ago I landed in Cebu. They did not ask for my e travel and they did not ask for a return ticket. They just let me go through. I had both of those things. But they did not ask and I did not tell.
I landed in the same place around the same time and had the same experience. My guess is that when they scan your passport, it's going to automatically show if the etravel has been linked to it. Also your onward ticket info is in the etravel. On another note, I filled out the customs form and a guy just went down the line of people grabbing the forms and not even looking at them to see if they were filled out completely.
Your e-travel registration is linked to your passport number. So they usually don't bother asking about your e-travel because the immigration officer can already see your e-travel details on their computer screen as soon as they scan your passport. As for a return or onward flight, sometimes they will ask about it and sometimes they don't.
