You may have met “ your person “ but timing may not be right maybe because of school, trying ti be financially secure and that applies to what he says. Your partner may not be where you want to be and yo are waiting because he is a great man ( hence you thinking highly of him) not coz you know he ain’t ish but u can’t leave coz you don’t think you deserve better.

I wish I knew it in my 20s. I lost 7 of my best years in an engagement when he no longer had any intention of marrying me. It took years of therapy trying to understand what was wrong with me. I carry the scars of the trauma to these days. Sometimes men get everything they want from a relationship and they don't break up because it's comfortable for them the way it is. Never again.

This is the raw truth and I’ve been guilty of this myself. I’ve been mostly dating just for the sake of dating, having someone there, and not really looking at the long term, simply taking it day by day. My standards were also low. That’s how you end up dating broke guys, selfish guys, and guys who also don’t date with any direction except wherever the wind blows them. Now I’m much more intentional. @@commonsense3921 no the yrs would not be wasted if we got married. I wanted marriage which is what he promised. My years are absolutely wasted on a man who lied to me. The good times are deleted because when he left he was cruel. He made the relationship seem like it was horrible when just month before he told me how good I was to him. Yes, I regret being with him. A man isn't allowed to lie to a woman just to get her to stay with him.

I ended a 5 year on and off relationship in December, he asked for 60 days in Mid September I gave it to him. Once they were up, I left. I'm in my early 40s so I get it. Leave if you have to. Time is our most valuable resource

Engagement can give them more time to choose. Yes, he is correct. Men know what they want, and they know women like to be married. 2 years is long enough to wait around. Anything longer than that then you need to go along your marry little way lady. Trust me I was with someone for 4 years and he left me for someone he knew for 6 months and married her. They usually know in 6 months, 1 year the longest. Everybody I knew that waited longer ,never got married to that partner. Exceptions: when one or both are in the military or when both are poor students, then the countdown begins from the moment they are in the same place geographically or have enough money. I don't trust long distance relationships either.

I don't even know what it feels like to be safe with a man. So, when you give advice the way you do, you are standing in the gap for women like me. Women who feel alone, and abandoned by the men in their lives that are supposed to have these types of conversations with them. Obedience is better than sacrifice. What's so hard about saying that? The issue is that they tell you and fill their heads up with all these lies from the beginning instead of being straight up from the beginning. I want marriage but I'm not sure I want it with you. Not that hard to say. But lying and telling me I'm the one and then not doing anything about it, that's why there's an issue. I say 2 years and it's over. I'm not wasting years of my life when I can be happy single.

The first part of the video makes me sad, because I've seen that several times. Sometimes men just assume that women won't understand them and will judge them harshly for being honest. So they don't show their full selves to you. Just like Mr. Daniels says, his best friend knows him better than you do (as the woman). Without knowing who they truly are, it makes loving them tougher, because you don't know what they're actually going through and what they actual need. How can you effectively love and support them when you're in the dark of what's actually going on?

Every time I hear this kind of advice my heart breaks for my cousin. She is a beautiful girl but has spent more than half of her life on a guy who is yet to even give her a ring, and her looks are slowly fading, and she has nothing to show for that relationship, which has always been rocky anyway. Dating should be with the intent to marry, not to give uncommitted people your years and the husband treatment when you are just a placeholder. I fully think he will either find another girl and marry her quickly, or they will settle together and live miserably

I wish I listened to this 3 years ago. I went through the same from a pastor who was buying time to con me. After conning me huge money he told me sorry I can't marry you. Ooops I never thought I will be unmarried at 30 but again, 'Moving on from the life I thought I wanted came through for me' am healing the wounds in therapy and rebuilding my trust in God having been messed with by His servant it has not been easy. Girls, just follow your gut, if the waiting doesn’t feel right with you, then simply it’s because it’s not right with you and leave that place. Instead of waiting for him, listen more to how YOU are feeling about it, because at the end is you who is deciding how and with what kind of person you are deciding to spend your life with and decide if you’ll be ok with that. Reality is that, no matter how unsure a dude is, he gotta communicate and if he doesn’t but you still wanna make it work with him, stop wondering and just ask, and get yourself the answer, is scary as hell (because a lot of times you know what you’ll hear) but good things/relationship are pricey and require courage and that’s better than always feeling unsure about things; so stressful. ❤love u all
