I don't have access to a sled, instead I do short but steep ( 10%+ grade ) uphill runs. Want to improve your reaction time? Play goalie in any sport. I used to get my brother to shoot hard hockey pucks at me with out me wearing any equipment besides a glove and blocker, trust me, your body will react faster because it triggers survival mode.
We have to many info. and we don't know when and how much to apply in a routine. Can you pls tell us how to train in off and on season time. Appreciate it ❤
Question, how come there are people that are very skinny but are some how very, very fast. For an example: Lorenzo Patta was part of the gold winning 4x100 Italian team and his physics is of a marathon runner. I completely don’t understand how he is so fast and yet so skinny.
@@ThePassionofSprinting Yeah, it's like a superpower. If you manage to do it properly it's basically training without training. Perfect for improving even when it's resting period.
Been wondering about this one - I've been doing track & field for 5 years now. For the longest time I blamed the fact that I wasn't fast on my school. I come from a poor school where the stadium doesn't even have a tartan and I didn't really have a way to train for the competitions. Until a year ago, I started thinking that the problem might've been me. So I've been seriously training and doing everything to up my PB (I'm talking about going to competitions, training in my free time and so on). My PB at the moment has been the same for 5 months even though I constantly train and push myself. My coach said it's something that I just don't have - "you just are not meant to be a sprinter, you do not have any natural speed". Do you also think that the issue is in me not having any "natural" speed or do you think that I can achieve that the speed I want if I keep pushing.
Good question Tina. Well, to be a successful sprinter you need to have some natural speed (talent) and combine it with hard work. Only having one of these factors will make things much more harder for you. You don’t necessarily have to be the faster on your track team but you need some kind of natural speed
U can be fast start with your problems whether it’s technique, strength, stride length, stride frequency, acceleration, force production, single leg coordination & balamce, core strength, hip flexors, ankle mobility, foot strength, plyometrics, there’s a lot to point towards just find your main issues you can work on then expand from there training with someone relative to your speed helps too as yall can push each other just do your research it’s out there trust
0:26 this happened to a girl playing against my daughter's soccer team, she was sprinting to a ball as fast as possible and I think she was the fast player on her team, and a couple of our girls sprinted right past her and when she saw them go by that fast it's like it warped her perception of speed and her legs were no longer going fast enough for her, she went down lol.
hello mate, i absolutely love your work i just discovered today. I'm a speed skater and i want to improve my start, do you think i should try using sleds ? I wonder if sprinting transfers to skating, so i might try it with my skates on
i would imagine it’s effective for speed in general but in terms of starts wouldnt it not work because it has to be already in motion to start resisting?
Hey Bro . Am Clocking About 11.20 At age Of 17 . Want to get in 10💥 .Should focus on technical points Or Spriting ???. Please reply Me bro🙏🏻 🌏Lots of love Of India ❤
But how I get sprint motivation ☹😕😕😕😕😕😣😣😖😖😖😢😭😭😭 Another question , How to breath on sprinting, Inhale with nose then exhale with mouth????????????????????
@@TheSprintProject_ Ah my bad, was searching the description section to find the link to it but just searched it instead and found it. That's interesting though. Goes against most conventional sprint coaching mantra where you stop at the weight where your form breaks down so athletes don't start memorising incorrect movement patterns. I guess it makes sense as it's more of a strength based exercise where you maximize your horizontal force production by doing slow heavy pulls and not treating it as a sprinting exercise to get the right shapes for acceleration. But I've never seen it done at such a high load before on the track - even Asafa Powell who did comparatively higher loads using the sled pull doesn't go to that big of a BW percentage. Conventional lighter drills have always been done because the correct sprinting mechanics can be applied but could be interesting to use lighter loads of force production at higher speeds with more emphasis on correct mechanics, alongside heavier loads for sheer horizontal force generation. Would be interesting to see research done for elite athletes rather than high school level ones too. Think I just got confused by the visuals where you had Usain dashing across the screen with his sled and was wondering what super high schoolers there are that manage to peg it with 140% BM of weight behind them
hello sir i'm a good sprinter . but i left it past one year, yesterday i went to my college 100m selection but I couldn't run faster than like last years so i got defeat in that opportunity hereby. how to start again and how be better than past year, from INDIA.
Believe Jesus Christ died on the cross for your sins and rose from the dead three days later and repent of sin. Judgement is coming to this world. Also repent consistently. Jesus is coming soon. At any moment you can die and if your not right with with Christ you would go to hell
Thanks for all the great info. My daughter is 9 so doing standing starts. should she be pushing with the front foot mostly or back or both. thanks so much
