As much as I hate Peggy for spiking Hank with test, that episode gave us one of the best Hank Hill moments of all time "...and if you were really from the future, you would've seen *THIS* coming!" 🥊
Nobody in the court told her her Spanish was fucking terrible. They once again let her behavior and ignorance slide. Hank really does bail her out of so many situations she barreled headlong into with zero hesitation
I used to think she was bad, but when analyzing the show in the summer of 2021, I realized that since European and Mexican Spanish are more different than English English and American English, I realized she speaks European Spanish, but because of the accent differences (and her mispronunciations), she gets things wrong. We never see her make mistakes on WRITTEN tests, and people would view European language varieties are superior to American ones.
TBH, if we had to include crimes as minor as 'making catholics look bad' and 'impersonating a nun' this list would be longer than the full run of the TV show. Hell, I'd consider Hank remaining married to her and allowing this walking disaster to influence his child's upbringing is probably the more serious sin. I spent fourteen years in Catholic school and there's no way some random person taken in off the street in a fetish costume could have made the religion less appealing than Literally Every Devout Catholic I've Ever Met, and realistically the worst decision any anti-catholic advocate trying to scare undecided minds away could ever make is to lie, because asking an actual catholic "Was Galileo wrong and did he deserve the resulting punishment?" is going to do their work a thousand times better.
I may not agree with the wars we've participated in in the last 4 decades, but destroying Bill's flag with no remorse is as genuinely cruel as any of the Hill's were ever shown to be. Definitely was a shallow ending that Peggy and Bobby didn't get any comeuppance

TBH, sentiments like this really make it apparent how wild the American Civil Religion is in comparison to attitudes in any other developed country with freedom of expression. You guys treat every individual copy of your flag like a saint's mummified hand and seem just as surprised by this being exclusive to America as the rest of us are that the guys who turned maybe 0.05% of their 250 years of history into a religion and try your best to forget the rest of it have held global hegemony for a century.
I saw that episode and the fact Donovan was going to record the whole apology, all because Peggy was assigned the parking spot under the tree. So if that was the price to pay so that Donovan wouldn't get any petty revenge, I'm fine with it.
As terrible of a character as she was written to be you can't deny that she's two things at the end of the day: a damn good mother and a damn good wife. When it comes to her, you don't mess with her husband and you don't mess with her son. Besides that she sucks though
Weren't there like three more bad deeds that Peggy has done? Two of them are Bill related. 1: Her using Bill to sell products and even bullying him to improve her sales. 2: She, Minh, and Dale use Bill to make money, but then dumped him when he has no more use. 3: When she snuck into Nancy's house to see why she was ignoring her calls.
In the original video script, Peggy working Bill like a government mule was actually number 5, but it ended up getting cut. I plan to do a post about this video because so many things went wrong during the making of it that I think it might be cursed.
I imagine the reasons why your #2 and #3 weren't included are with #3, that was a B-plot and I noticed @squirreltactics chose all A-plot's with Peggy as a focus for each of his choices. For #2, this was a very collective episode with Peggy, Minh, and Dale generally making decisions together in their plots involving Bill's exploitation. A lot of things that went wrong with that episode were also beyond their control. But this episode illustrates not only Peggy's but Dale's and Minh's low respect for Bill even when something beyond their control affects Bill above all else. Given this video is Peggy-focused, I think a passing (dis)honorable mention would've been warranted. However, Peggy wasn't the focus, it was more a dynamic trio-type protagonist involving three characters. As an aside, the B-plot for this episode with Hank and Bobby struggling to use their new TV is VERY relatable. That leaves your #1. It would've made a great addition to this episode. @squirreltactics said below it was to be #5 but he commented below why he cut it. Perhaps he'll do a full episode down the road, because it shows a lot of character growth from Peggy and Bill both individually and in their relationship dynamic. In contrast to what was featured in the video with Peggy having little if any remorse for her actions, this episode ends on a high note and Peggy showed more genuine remorse and care for Bill.
@@squirreltactics Bill WANTED to be given traditional discipline, and I think Coach Sauers and Chane did nothing wrong (Bobby is a perverted gluttonous manchild), and she was merely being foolish regarding Minh. Peggy wanted to raise money for the Hispanic community when she drugged Hank (and I don't think she noticed Nancy looking at Hank, since she is a jealous woman), and Peggy and the others were uncomfortable with Bill. I am more bothered by Peggy not showing empathy for Bill throughout the series: Bill loves her but is NOT stalking her, and whilst I used to dislike Bill, I realized in September of 2021 (I began watching the show one year earlier), that someone with depression would NOT think rationally, hence Bill's refusal to take responsibility (also, since it is implied Hank was obnoxious in high school, there is a GOOD reason why everyone hates the Arlen Flooder). The Flat Stanley thing was stupid, but OSHA is important in a red state which hates regulations. The turkey thing is silly, since Peggy could have assumed it was beginners' luck: I didn't think Peggy was being a bad person, but that she was replaced and felt like Kahn felt when the General visited.

Head trauma can actually permanently change someone's personality. It's actually pretty wild if you've ever seen it for yourself. I think it's when her extreme narcissism and delusions of grandeur started.

Hanks only owning one pair of jeans is probably the most accurate thing in that episode. I know a lot of guys that will wear one pair of jeans until it's falling apart.
You forgot Peggy sabotaging Hanks chance of being substitute teacher of the year. She is just so selfish. As bad as drugging Hank was, sabotaging Lucky was worse to me. She hurt someone who wanted to better themselves. She chose to hold him back. Lucky wasn’t dumb. He learned what she taught him. He was enthusiastic. She proudly called herself an educator and could have gotten praise for helping him. Yet she is so selfish she can’t even get out of her own way.
I remember Peggy didn't like that Hank was a more likeable substitute teacher, but I don't think she sabotaged him. IIRC, Principal Moss caught Bobby with tools and planned on suspending him because of zero tolerance, and after Hank explained himself Moss decided to fire Hank instead of dealing with a bunch of students.
See with the gas problem. If people were properly taught and trusted with information they would be taught to never mix the 2 chemicals together but since we kept the information from the innocent people they wouldn't know better and would hurt themselves especially since these are common chemicals that could be believably next to each other in the laundry room.
Very true even though there is usually a warning label on the chemical bottles of what to not mix it with. I usually store such chemicals away from each other in the house just to be safe if there is a leak in one of the bottles.
Yeah. Know a guy who did it on accident. Used a shower cleaner with ammonia without realizing it had ammonia then went to bleach the shower pan and a few seconds later noticed the smell and had to get out
Every developped country requires chemicals to be labelled with that kind of relevant information. At the very least, there will be a "DO NOT MIX WITH OTHER CHEMICALS" warning. There are more warning labels on a gallon of bleach than there are on a box of 12-gauge shells (which contain explosives, by the way). Unfortunately, no one ever reads that information. The cure for ignorance is education, but there is no cure for *willful* ignorance, laziness, or stupidity. I almost forgot: the chemical formula for every known toxic gas on Earth is only ever a Google search away. So are chemistry textbooks. None of this information is kept from us, people just aren't interested to learn it.
She's just such a dislakable character. When she got jealous of Hank and Bobby bonding for once lol that's when i disliked her permanently. A great written character! She's like the Texas mom version of Deloris Umbridge writing. Delectably detested!
There will be a sequel to this one. Should be a series. Off the top of my head she kidnapped people who would vote in the school board election. She nearly ruined a BBQ restaurant that was extremely successful until her ego changed it and could have caused for some to lose their livelihoods. Randy Travis DID SCREW HER OVER, but Peggy was a Psycho nightmare during the fan fair trip to Nashville. She (and Minh/Dale)book advantage of Bill for investing before breaking him mentally and financially. She messed with Bill again when she got involved with a pyramid scheme and verbally and mentally abused him. I am personally a little troubled over her response to what happened in "Flirting with the Master" and she did at least seem to want to stay loyal but yeah... she didn't trust her usually honest husband's word and she harshly punished her son without a shred of evidence after a GARDEN GNOME was broken, which she had only had for a week or two at best. She seemed to REALLY not trust that her very uptight husband was not a porn addict and didn't stick by him when he was at war with Arlen Video thinking he was crazy. She may not have understood fully what she was doing, but the gentrification of Enrique's neighborhood was her fault, and HOW TF could she (a realtor mind you) not see a problem with it all?... she also used pesticides in the organic garden and lied to Tom Landry staff and students about it. I am leaving out other issues with Peggy, but dang does she do some cruddy things throughout the show.
One part I find very funny in, "Good-bye Normal Jeans" is that Peggy, after falling off the bicycle, she put the stuffing that fell out of the turkey back in it. You got to think of the asphalt and other things that could have made its way into it.
Quite a few honorable mentions should have been made. 1 Peggy taking over the Nashville country festival trip due to misunderstanding a letter from Randy Travis’s lawyer. Yeah he did steal her song but Peggy’s ego was in full force. 2. Peggy taking Sugarfoots from Hank and completely ruining it. It was clearly given to Hank, and Peggy thought because of their marriage, she owned half. And completely shut Hank out, and turned it into a monument to her ego.
She turned it into a high-end restaurant: beforehand it was literally a barn. It's like the Geico commercial, "How does it feel to be BETTER than everyone else," the joke is the lion IS better.
I have maybe two good ones, one in decent condition but I don't like wearing because they're too tight, and two junk jeans for around the house. I mostly just cycle through the two good ones.
There is no way absolutely no way this video is only covering 4 topics especially a Peggy Hill focused video and only 26 minutes long. I'm expecting this to be a multiple part series especially considering all the things Peggy has done wrong. Also have to agree on the Cabot cheese.

Peggy accidentally but very brutally killed Trip Larson, one of the richest men in Arlen, and she just walks away? I mean to be sure she would at least be taken in for questions and maybe charged with involuntary manslaughter or something. And it's NEVER MENTIONED AGAIN. That always bothered me.
Not defending Peggy, but another way of interpreting what she did was she was protecting Luanne, in a sense. Trip told Luanne to pull the lever, but Peggy said "Let me do it", kinda like she's telling her "You're still pure and innocent. You don't want his blood on your hands. I'll take it instead." Probably reading too much into it, but that's my two cents on it

Luanne and Lucky were my favorite characters. Brittany Murphy's my favorite actress; she was so genuine and precious😭💔. With Tom Petty gone too, it's especially difficult given his character was married to Brittany's.

The part where Peggy snarks about "Not cooking Hank's dinner tonight" and he responds by turning on the microwave was the most hilarious comeback ever in that scene. 😂
That doctor was definitely sending Peggy some mixed signals. He totally wanted her to grab that prescription from the trash can. Now maybe it’s so she can try to talk him into taking the testosterone but Hank made it clear that he was stressed from work. That doctor tried to push his BS beliefs onto him rather than listening to the patient. He also should’ve known that his suggestive nature might have given someone like Peggy the idea to drug her husband. If I didn’t know better he probably wanted her to do it just so he would get to prescribe those little sack patches to get his levels right again. If he was so sure Hank had some “low T” he could’ve “gave Hank some local anesthetic and got a sample” or gave him some Popular Mechanics and put him in the bathroom like Hank’s willy doctor that was “flown in from Calcutta.” Also Hank’s interactions with Joseph during that episode were pretty funny. Including the wrestling when Dale gets destroyed by his ummm son? Actually teenage Hank in general was a pretty hilarious premise…didn’t think he was the kinda guy who listen to Jethro Tull. I figured he would have some opinions about that flute. Maybe Hank was on the Grammy committee. “Metallica? Not this year!”
I’ve seen people defend Peggy and be unable to understand why I absolutely despise her. Now I have a video of reasons why to show them, thank you for your suffering through all of Peggy for this! Side note: I also enjoy cheese 🧀
i can think of two more things she did wrong in the series, 1. The time she joined a kitchen supply company, in order to get some costumers in Arlen Highs, only to learn that she owed a large sum to money to them 2. The time she, along with Dale and Ming followed Bill in order to make some investments.
Accident and ignorance is also something Peggy does wrong as she is very much that. If she was a child like bobby sure but Peggy is a grown woman who calls herself a genius and works in education so she has no excuse for being that bad. Plus challenging god himself to fill her ego on top of that.

Finally you did the one episode that Peggy was at her worst people keep talking about lupe, or lucky episide but they seem to forget the one where she drugs and lies to her husband in order to get what she wants from him.
I also like this sort of bitchy move she does with the patch. Where after seeing hank run she just drops it on the ground for the bulls to trample over. Like she does know those are a whole pack right?
