Here's a 4 tips video to improve your flat art. It is something I struggled a lot when I was a beginner artist. I hope it will help you :) Music: We Cruisin' by (Otis McDonald) Instgram: / _.architaroy._ Twitter: / architaroy03
RU-vid is doing a really good job with the recommendations lately. I'm seeing a lot of smaller but helpful, talented artists popping up in my feed as I learn to draw.
Facts! Also dynamic poses, motifs, and angles play a big role. Sometimes I make art that looks horribly stiff and I step away and start something else in a more interesting pose and it makes all the difference.
As someone who is currently in a art block, due to constantly feeling insecure about my art, always hating it, comparing myself to other artists my age, this video is really helping me, thank you so much for making this, I needed this so much, im so happy I can finally draw and look at my art the way I did before ❤
I love your voice :D also your art-style is really pretty🕺 I’m always scared to add harsher shadows because I don’t know if it’ll look right but I think I’ll try out some of the things in this video and see if it helps
great tips!! I'd also say this is only if your going for artwork with more intense values. Artworks can also have a more flat style for illustrative work :>
Wow it’s so nice. I learn new thing about digital art from u. I use to draw since when I was 3 y/o, now I’m 8. Soon I’m going to upload some of my arts 🥰
The shadow tip is nice but it doesn’t necessarily apply when the lighting is ambient or overcast, in that case the shadows are very subtle since the light is coming from all directions
If I can add one tip I would say study how to see and build form, alot of the times things look flat because it's still reading as 2D instead of 3D. Anyway I love your style and nice video!
Another thing for shadows is that shadows and even color are just basic shapes. Just hide ur line art and you'll see that ur shadows and colors are just the shapes that fill in your lines. So whenever ur shading just remind ur self its just irregular shapes
I really liked the video, I feel that my digital art is always very flat. I dont know if would like it but maybe you could make a video fixing a flat drawing to make it more alive, to understand more your way of giving life to a drawing.
yOU know the BIG problem I see watching these type of videos...is that I NEED TO DO THINGS...and the only thing I do here iS WATCH.---AND HEAR---BUT IM NOT DRAWING.,..... you guys learn by only this? or its better to do art WHILE a MUCH better artist is behind you telling you what to do? what do u prefer?
I feel so stupid because I didn't understand anything that was said :( Maybe it's my autistic ass, but I tried to undertand how to improve my flat paitings and all I could hear was add lights and shadows'. The problem is, I still don't understand how to do it properly, so I need to study more about light... This sounded too advanced to me.
