I experimented with my headphones a long time ago. The sennheiser HD650 records quality audio for voice overs; very clean and base-y I was surprised to hear it. But I don't use it to record anything because it's not optimal shape wise like you need to hold it open to make it pickup good sound. Also plugged a microphone to the speaker output and it does produce sound but very tiny. It's fun to experiment with these things. It confirms some theories you might have.
Remember to check your phase , you don’t want to fight to get the volume up cause it’s out of phase but at the same time it could be an out of phase sound that works for your song so try it both ways , just be aware
