i am so grateful for this channel - these videos are arguably the only reason i’ve been able to get off (and stay off) of sleeping meds after being on them for more than 10 years
I constantly have to go back and listen to stuff in the morning because a lot of times I’m out like a light two minutes in. Which is great for my sleeping, but irritating when I want to hear the story.
Story 3: I experienced withdrawal, once. I'd been taking high dosages of sleeping pills for my insomnia, and pharmacy shenanigans prevented me from getting more on time. It feels like actual death. Nearly passed out and broke my neck just trying to take a basic shower. As much as drug use isn't approved of, I can always empathize with wanting to avoid the hell that is withdrawal.
Am I the only person who finds his voice incredibly soothing I literally fell asleep listening to the stories not because they're boring but because his voice is just so relaxing
Yes most definitely I go to sleep to your voice it’s definitely how I end my fights soothing not boring at all !! It’s crazy how only your stories keep me intrigued
You have a very nice speaking voice. When I was listening to you tell a story I fell a so yes you do have a nice voice. You have the kind of voice that can help people fall asleep. That's good. It's better for me to listen to you tell a story than for me trying to take anything and hoping I will go to sleep. So thank you.
Shout out to you let’s read these story’s keeping me off the drugs consuming my mind I appreciate you been listening since I was a kid in Skl to now an adult thank you
@@Purplefirefly87 Lol. I'm a gambler so even though last night I kept thinking it was Axel Rose, today I'm second guessing myself. It's been a long time since I've heard it, but I'm going with it as my final answer . Plus I can't say it was one of my favorite songs of theirs and I had(have) a habit of replaying my favorites over and over . They had a lot of really good ones.
Regarding the crazy guy Linford story, i wonder why did he get conspiracy charges? I dont remember a mention of any Co-cospirator, sounded like he did it all solo
First one started to sound like some Dresden Files stuff. Especially since it seems to be in Chicago and this channel has had stories submitted that were from Dresden Files.
Story 3: I had plenty of those numbers in my phone, a decade ago: Scummy Dave, Half Al, Turtle, etc. Thank you for having the bravery to share your experiences. Christmases are still a bitch here, too.
@@GhettoBarbiie17 First, love your name. Second, I can see that, because it makes a good story, and anyone can tell it online. But these things do happen all the time. They often go unnoticed because overworked cops (or just lazy ones) don't look for missing persons and people who commit these crimes are locked in silence when looking at a lifetime in prison. Bodies aren't found because honestly, if you're willing to put in the work (I'm not😅) it's really not as difficult as one would thing to get rid of a body for good. Especially when no one is looking for it. For a kid to disappear like this a lot of people really need to mess up -- from the parents, all the way down to the person who makes them disappear. It doesn't even necessarily take someone truly evil, although one evil person can definitely do the work of a crowd of people who just aren't very good. In any case, even if it's untrue, it's true for *someone*, and I appreciate an opportunity to see humanity for what it is: neither good, nor bad. Except for maybe the grown man who brought an underage boy home while he was in vulnerable place. That's pretty freaking evil. That is incredibly common. Sorry for the book!
Yeah. I had 8 different numbers for the same guy cuz he kept switching phones and calling from different numbers. I never knew which one to hit up so id call and text every single one.
The junkies story pissed me off so bad i understand wanting the drugs and not wanting withdrawals but to cover up a murder the least he could of done was tip the police off where to find him
Story 4: The guy who killed his parents was arrested in 2017 for allegedly being present when a man was being beaten and told his friends to finally stop before he died. Yeah idk if he's changed completely but he did get leniency that case
Like you're hanging out with him and he's just telling you a story....Maybe chillin in front of the fireplace while having a hot toddy & smokin out or at a beach sitting next to a fire or out in the woods around a campfire making s'mores. ☺️
@@hlmfromdaoNot so great when you wake up in the mornings sweating and aching with diarrhea and have to be at work in 30 minutes, but have no way of getting a fix. Not so great when it's Christmas morning and your entire family is waiting for you while you're out knocking on doors and calling everybody you can think of just to get a little hit so you can sit with your family without the existential dread, depression, and severe flu symptoms. Not so great when you're sick again for the 4th time in a month and you know people around you are wondering what the hell is going on.
@@slicedbread5692 couldn’t be me. I work and always have money and buy the same amount each time so it lasts and and I don’t do more then I need to for the day. It’ll be like this till I decide to quit which isn’t too far from now.
@@slicedbread5692it’s probably great for him because he’s still getting it from a dr or a steady supply for cheap from a reliable person. It’s when you hit times when you have nothing left to sell, no one left to ask, and you’re whole family is so disappointed in you that they can’t look you in the eyes. As an addict, when times are good they are oh so very good . But when times are bad they are so bad you’d rather be dead. As of Christmas I’ll have 2 years clean again. I hope you are well too!
This is Awesome!!! I have been waiting for this all year! Let's Read is the GOAT!!! Holy Crappolla!!! Dems were some truly scary stories 😮. Thank, Joel!
I keep watching ur subscribers in anticipation and have mini celebrations every time u grow a little more. You seriously deserve it. Thanks for your hard work
Am i the only one who likes lets reads videos before i listen to them just in case I fall asleep before they've finished and because i know I'll like them because I've enjoyed every one of this channels videos and podcasts.
I appreciate the depth of the characters in this horror narrative. It adds a layer of realism that makes the scares even more impactful. Great character development!
Opioid withdrawal is one of the worst things imaginable. If you've never experienced it, you can't really understand, but words honestly can't describe it. You describe it by saying like "chills, fever symptoms, insomnia, nausea, restless legs" etc. None of that sounds that horrible. It all sounds like stuff that everyone has gone through at one time or another. Trust me, it's a uniquely horrible experience.
Hey man, Your videos have been phenomenal to listen to on long gaming sessions. They’re long enough that I get a lot of content out of one video, but not so long I lose where the hell i am in the stories.
So,I never normally comment but first thing is, your channel and content is always great. Thank you. But second is I'm a recovering addict and the 3rd story was like hearing my life and whoever sent that story in...you cannot understand just how much I can relate. Taking h and c brings with it a life so nuts most people really can't believe...none of it good might I add. Happy Christmas on that happy note!:/ lol
Life changes all the time, sometimes for the good, usually for the worst. But some things stay the same, and that's alright, and no one is as consistent as Let's Read .Hats off to you sir, never change, these videos will always be timeless 👍
Really random, but suboxone is an amazing prescription. I was on pain pills for over 10 years and the first time I tried suboxone, I immediately quit the pain pills. 2 years sober now and I haven’t ever looked back. The first week was terrible but just make it past that point and your life is on the other side. I hope this helps someone or helps someone who knows someone. Merry Christmas everyone!
I’ve wanted tk try it for a bit now. Am addicted to opioids mainly hydromorphone and I wanna stop but can’t. I know that helps and wanna try but am not sure the steps to get it in Canada.
@@hlmfromdao I just googled help honestly, it led me to the website called bicycle health. They are amazing and they have helped me get clean. They can prescribe you suboxone and other meds to ease the detox process. I really hope you can get clean.
I liked all these scary, Christmas stories. I feel bad for the people who got hurt in some of them. Shame on all the bad guys in them. I'm glad the intruder failed in some of theses stories. Christmas should be a joyful time of the year. It's horrible that bad things can happen on Christmas. That has to stop. Anyway, Merry Christmas everyone!🎄🎅
You are absolutely the best at what you do. I love listening to you, your quality is outstanding, stories are fantastic and narration is superb. Did i mention how great you are? Ok I'll stop. Seriously, way to go sir. 😏😉
Can anyone help me a find a story? I’ve listened to so many i cannot remember what’s it’s from. The guy goes in the woods somewhere and finds a meth lab and a scary guy there. Any help is appreciated!
