Im actually pretty proud of my hihat patterns generally, so I almost didnt even bother watching this video, but I figured it couldnt hurt and I am glad I did. You have several super helpful tips in here, not even just for hihats. Great video bro💯💯💯
Good video. Only thing to keep in mind though is that Drill typically stays around 140-150 BPM since that speed compliments the 3-3-2 hi hats really well, but you could make lower/higher tempo work if you want something more unique or experimental.
Appreciate a lot the work you're doing and looking forward for every video that you upload talking about the most essential, it's really a blessing to have all this videos from other channels but at the same time such amount of information can be hard and confusing to bear. You on other hand go straight to the point, in a practical and understandable way, which I love. Cause there's so much to learn and time is limited... I'm 23, without any previous experience nor knowledge in music theory, but I started recently, having an ambitious dream, and the knowledge that you share without any doubt gives me hope to have a chance for success and learn to bring out what I have and hear in my mind ;))
It's already a known facts, but this just further proved that FL Studio piano roll is miles better than that of ANY daw. It's not even close lol wayyyy ahead
I’m currently using maschine and from the time I’ve worked with fl I feel like the results are always better. Would you recommend switching to fl. I feel like it’s easier to mix in there too
Thanks for another awesome class, teacher! Question: the reverb/delay on your melodies is so great without drowning out the sound. Can you do a reverb/delay tutorial?
This was fantastic! I've used FL Studio off and on since FL Studio 5, and I assume I fell into a closed loop of making beats a certain way, because some of these shortcuts are insanely good and I never knew about them.. lol Thanks a lot!
@@NavieD Yeah, I'm drooling a little - so much time saved! I'm not going to switch from Ableton, but damn, I would use those MIDI functions hundreds of times each session. Great time savers, and also creative tools for generating new patterns.
Thank you Navie D! You have reignited my passion for making music! It also gives me a better sense of how to approach lyrics and their melodies! Appreciate what you doing and wish you all the best :)
Can you make a video about hooks? Couse i get really cool verses at beats but when it comes to hook sometimes i really struggle. As you know hooks are the most effective part of the beat.
@@NavieD yes. maybe you can show some examples or techniques that use or special tips...idk show something :) Hooks are the most impressive part of the beat. Nobody focus too much on this at tutorials.
These 'four different type' videos are great. So many prod tutorials just utilise their own style without considering alternative was of composing. It's so much more helpful and refreshing to be able to look at these different methods side by side. Thanks man, keep it up!
@@NavieD Always my friend. Pleasure to watch you teach. I'm sure you are a great dude, I'm down to watch and learn from good talented people. Plus, when you get to hundreds of thousands of subs, I get to be a hipster and brag ahahah
Video idea! More just cooking up something and explaining your thoughts behind everything in the beat! Do love the individual explanation videos a lot still
Not to take away from this guys great video here but , anybody else get sick of seein the same dumb ads when checking youtube daw vids ? the stupid unison midi crap and the 18 yr old kid with glasses in a basement in suburbia talkin like he's all street , like so many social media "gangstas" do , "yo dats fire !" No wat i mean "fam" ? . those ads are so annoying.
I tend to lean towards boom bap when producing but I love the hi hat patterns and hi hat rolls of trap. I unknowingly try to mix these elements when im making a beat and they tend to often clash with each other. Is there where to mix these two elements together in a proper way?
I won't even add, this tutorial has reply play value even if u have already subscribed and watched rate with a like or dislike. Because their is sooooo much info stored in this video. The dislike may not help the video or channel. but a comment, a reply something of the effect of this video gets notice. and constantly reviewed shows how much this video is retained.
@@NavieD Hell yeah...you could reach a lot of people because there arent that many tutorials about other genres, its all trap, hiphop or EDM. and some house stuff. I mean thats not wrong but mehhhh haha
