my interpretation of the four explanations (this is a broad summary because language is too rigid for only one word to apply to one set meaning): 1. 소용없다 - used when something is useless, but needs to be described / mentioned that way because someone else might end up giving it a shot regardless / or when there might be a point to the act / thing in a different setting but definitely not now. Not really used to describe anything abstract. 2. 쓸데없다 - pretty broad nuance. This is mostly for unnecessary actions / notions that will _always_ stay unnecessary or pointless, unless there's an unusual exception. 3. 쓸모없다 - used like the phrase 'waste of space'. Something / someone that could have been making itself useful, but isn't. 4. 부질없다 - used for saying something / some effort is 'a pipe dream'. Used for thoughts / actions that are useless because the fact that the results won't lead anywhere is being forgotten. This is used to describe things more abstractly (cue the philosophical debate of 'is there any such thing as truly meaningless effort?)

my little interpretations) the main meaning of all four words is 'useless' but I think of them as following notions. :) 소용없다→can't help it, stop bother, usually used when the person or an organization that one is dealing with is stubborn. 쓸데없다→most broad meaning out of 4 and of course most similar to 쓸모없다 쓸모없다→no use, usually with objects but above all, people say this phrase to blame or criticize other people such as 쓸모없는 놈, 쓸모없는 놈들 or something like "이 아무짝에도 쓸모없는 놈 같으니라고" you cannot use this kind of form with other three words 부질없다→more like 'pointless' than 'useless' it is similar to 소용없다 but the difference is that the most common use of this word is a short form like 부질없다~다 부질없어~ 아이고 부질없다 etc I actually didn't watch the whole video so my explanations could be in it.
