SO EXCITED!! I've been super pumped to announce the COFFEE COCKTAIL CHALLENGE that we've been working on! It's a huge cocktail competition... we have the legends over at Mr Black on board, great prizes up for grabs (including a coffee machine!) and the chance to have your original cocktail featured on the channel. Find out more details here: bit.ly/coffee-cocktail-challenge
When the video quality drops due to confetti and u realise Steve hasn't seen Tom Scott's video on RU-vid bitrate encoding. Ps. defo gonna try the coffee negroni when im able to open the bar again in the UK. #lockdownblues
Too bad, can’t register. I‘d like to participate (with my wife) without necessarily winning something. Is there a way to post our recipe via PM just to be part of it even unofficially?
Not sure if I'll be able to get my hands on any Mr. Black but I'll for sure join the challenge with homemade coffee liqueur, sub the recipe with Mr.Black and hope for the best! These are great recipes, love the simple combinations, especially coffee and rye!

Kevin, next time we shoot I want Mr. Black, served with warm, creamy milk foam.
I love how you made the drinks so simple and they look delicious. Sometimes using only two ingredients. That mr black stuff must be really good, gotta try it. Cheers. 🥂
@Steve the Bartender Just made the Dominicana with the additional bar spoon of simple syrup. I also took the spring from a Hawthorne strainer and whipped it along with the cream and remaining drink mix to thicken for the float. Amazing cocktail to say the least.
If you get your hands on some beetroot juice, try this one: 20 ml Coffee liquor 20 ml Vodka 10-20 ml of beetroot juice, depending on the "beetrootiness" and the darkness of red you like. 20 ml of cream/ whole milk (optional egg-white/ vegan replacement) Finish with chocolate bitters. Shake and strain to an OTR- glass or a nice coupe.
Thanks Paul! There were so many takes on this one... funnily enough, I’m not that great on camera.... hence why I don’t do live streams. Luckily we have editing! Hahaha 😂
Haha bro what are you talking about? You’re a rockstar on camera!! I reckon you would be awesome on a live! Try on IG first, less technical lol Haha yeah thank the lord for editing lol but I reckon people would dig a live man! You’d kill it 🤘🏼🤘🏼🤘🏼
Your video is sponsored by Mr Black so it's only fitting you use it for these cocktails but i'd like to suggest another take on the Coffee Negroni. Put two jiggers(20z side) of coffee beans in a low tumbler, fill with campari, cover with plastic wrap and let it steep for 24 hours. The next day make a classic Negroni using the coffee infused campari and garnish with an orange zest. I used to make it in my bar and was one of everyone's favorite drinks. It totally changes the perspective of Negroni from an aperitif to an after dinner drink but still is extremely balanced. If you'd like to amp up the coffee tast even more just add some ground coffee to the beans and then the next day strain through a coffe filter, aldo using a dash of orange bitters makes it even better.
I think I have one of the only bottles of Mr Black in Canada. My brother lives just outside of Brisbane and brought me one a few weeks back on a visit. Excellent product and I can't wait until it's available here. The Cold-Fashioned I made with it was great. Will definitely be trying your espresso martini as that looked great and simple. Thanks Steve and love your videos. Cheers.
Glad the anticipation is finally over; and congratulations for the opportunity. Sounds super exciting. In the video it says Start date 16th of NOV and End date 11th of NOV. Even if it is in reverse, so initially the competition is just for a week, right? Once more, awesome news Steve. Cheers!
I can't believe I missed that! Argh... it's 8 weeks long... ends on the 11th of Jan 2021. There is text that shows up on the top right now alerting that it is a typo..
What a time to be alive. Negroni week 2022, Coffee Negronis etc.etc.etc..! For some reason Mr.Black's site take on the Negroni totally excludes the sweet vermouth and instead just used 1oz each gin, Mr. Black and campari...so we call these...twists? :D
Thank you for all the fun enjoyable videos! I enjoy learning about making cocktails with you! You make it seem so easy to do! I got my own shaker and I’m starting to make a list of what I need to collect and buy for my own bar.
I just got my first order in from mr black, unfortunately it's not sold in stores where I live. I've never tried to come up with my own cocktail before but I'll definitely give this one a go.
You mentioned that the dominicana could use a sugar component. Instead of simple syrup, would sweetened heavy cream work as well? Or do you want the sugar in the drink instead?
There is a French retailer that does ship to Sweden... Mr Black: www.whisky.fr/en/mr-black-cold-brew-coffee-liqueur.html Shipping: www.whisky.fr/en/dispatch-delivery
I have not tried any coffee liqueur's other than Kahlua. Would using Kahlua in any of these recipes mess up taste profile too much? or would it be a decent substitute to the Mr Black Coffee Liqueur?
Mr. Black's is not nearly as sweet and has way more coffee flavor compared to Kahlua. Mr Black = black coffee or espresso vs Kahlua = latte or cappuccino.
Hey Steve, great video! Unfortunately I couldn't find any Mr. Black in israel, so I wanted to know if I can use some other coffee liquor (the one that starts with K and ends with AHLUA) with same measurements? Thanks!
The recipe submitted needs to contain Mr Black... Kahlua has a lot more sugar so the measurements would need to be tweaked.. For example, the Dominicana - I like it with a touch of sugar with Mr Black. If I used Kahlua, I definitely wouldn’t add sugar as it would then be too sweet..
Did you made a barraquito jet in your Videos? Thats one of my favourits when it comes to coffee :) Thanks for the great Video, the crema really looked stunning ;)
@@StevetheBartender_ I drunk it on Teneriffa and also made it at home. It's easy to make and crazy delicious! Hope you go well, in down under. Stay safe and best regards from germany
Might try the Cold Fashioned with Eagle Rare , or Maker's Mark , Knob Creek is too expensive for little old tight wad me to use in a Cocktail . ;) Nice one Steve , keep em' coming!
@@StevetheBartender_ Do you have videos for hot coffee cocktails? I didn't check.... What are the liquors to be added for hot coffee or hot chocolate cocktail?
Too bad I can't join the competition as it's not worldwide. I've been working on a really nice coffee cocktail that combines scotch (I'm finding Aberfeldy 16yo works great), Coffee, Licor 43, tonic water and a splash of lemon juice. Kind of counter-intuitive combination of flavors, but surprisingly (or not) really, really pleasant and flavorful.
Sound fabulous! Has anyone mail ordered Mr Black to far away or rural locations? It's not available within 4800km.😢 I'm quite a coffee snob (forgive me) w/Kona Coffee grown all around me. Blind cupping contests for Mr Black & reviews, assure me it's worth a go. Espresso from world winning Kona coffee beans, together with Mr Black- I worry maybe tempting to try alcohol before magical ”Happy Hour” & sunsets?! Uh Oh.
