I have a few of these, they are very pritty. I used to use the good old Fusion Cascade, two per model three models per unit. (ie 6xFusion cascades) with full suit of sheild drones. Pre 8th edition they were very very effective if you used them right, there seemed to be no issue with needing a buff. The burstcannon versions were cheap for there firepower, the ion ones had better range and the melta ones would turn heavy troops into molten slag. They did like most tau only perform as well as they were supported, ie marketlights to make sure they shots all hit. My fav tactic used to be to wait until a pile of Terminators have leaped out of a landraider and assualted my front line, need less to say they would die/fallback or they would screw there assault range. Once out of there protection I would drop XV9's with said fusion cascades down behind/to the side of them, thus allowing me to target the Termiators with out stormsheilds and eliminate them. This became nessasary as folk got the idea to give 2 or so terminators stormshields and put them at the front to soakup plasma rounds, as you take from the front you have to shoot your way passed them to cause any real damage to the squad, with these guys now at the wrong side of there unit, its open season on Terminators :), with a number of sheild drones and a potentialy dealdy defensive fire they are not easy to dealwith and you almost always have the opertunity to move them out of hards way after there landing. Still I have used them as a 'stall' wall before, allowing other units to redeploy and relaying on there high toughness and pile of drones to hold massive units (like gaunts) in place, that also ignores all there other little tricks :) Nice to see them getting some youtube love. I always fanced grabing a ghostkeel and doing it up like a FW XV9.

Model question: are the forearm/weapons systems a single piece, or is it a forearm/hand with a separate weapon you assemble? (considering doing a kit-bash, but never was able to get integrated bits off cleanly)
