Man, I miss trains in Chicago. Living in Austin almost 20 years, I forgot what all you can see. Even a trip to the Ft. Worth railroad sites doesn’t compare!
Eyy another Austinite! Even though there's not as much rail traffic in Austin, there's a few cool spots you can visit for trains- like the McNeil Post Office, which has some cool views since it's where the Union Pacific and Metro Rail lines intersect, plus there's a big limestone refinery nearby.
Yes they look and sound great!!! I hope Metra will get new cab cars soon....they look a bit odd to me. They could possibly go with Bombardier cab cars with a new livery. I do know that takes time and money but it's definitely something Metra should look into.
Sam loves trains around Chicago is brilliant it brings the whole rail scene to a Uk based railfan alive. Loads of locations and great locos love both main diesels around now
Ever since I was little boy, I love the design of F40PH locomotive, After they are amazing 😉, I love passenger trains like Amtrak and commuter trains like Metra of Chicago and CalTrain of San Francisco! I glad Metra uses old Amtrak F40PH locomotives and CalTrain of San Francisco as well!

Another great video Sam!! How do you know where to go to capture these trains?? Do you have a location guide or maps that you use? Do you film south shore trains on the south side? Amtrak long distance trains?
Thanks! I use a train tracker called ATCS and asm.transitdocs.com for Amtrak trains. I've filmed a few south shore line trains and a good amount of long distance Amtrak trains.
I love these metra trains it is my favorite train cus ill drive this train when ill be older and then there's more when the way im gonna drive my favorite train when I'm old ill easily give it a try when I know about metra trains in chicago city cus if I was in Chicago I want to drive the metra I can't stop thinking about them till I'm old I can use my Google maps cus i can find Chicago even Illinois I can see a metra and in chicago ill be able to drive a metra when I get older if I'm not old to drive a car I got to be like at least 16 to drive and theres More ill drive a metra ill stop at any train station and more ill drive the metra at Chicago and drive the metra when I'm old cus im a big fan of metra trains when I'm old ill just drive any metra ill drive if that's ok right now theres More ill just drive the metra around the world and there's one more when I drive a metra ill use a horn and the bell when the railroad crossing gate gose down and on hot days ill put the air on and on cold days ill warm off and I'm all done have a good day

You caught a heritage unit! Metx 90! On of the 4 heritage units running on metra. The other 3 are: metx 405 MP36PH (the muilwaukee road), metx 211 F40PHM (Burlington route) metx 425 MP36PH (rock island)
