SGA’s game reminds of Brandon Roy in regards of poise and patience. He’s never in a rush and gets to his spots on the basketball court anytime he wants. Just very skillful.
@@ehoua What I worry is can Chet develop into an all star quick enough where he can take pressure off SGA in carrying the team. If Chet can, then this team can make deep playoff runs and in a couple of years, OKC can be possibly be in title contention, where the team is fully built around Chet & SGA, but we’ll see.
@@tristangourdet6084This is it. Especially losing a year of that. Could be a blessing in disguise tho. A lot of guys got good burn last season and made a statement. If Chet is the unicorn then this mf decade of OKC ball is going to only get more fun. Plus all the picks and we still don’t even respect their most recent guy like we should in Cason Wallace. Scary Thunder team tbh
@@808bboarder The thing is the picks have to start paying off at some point. If there’s a player out there that can help the team take that next step, then Sam Presti and company have to pull the trigger, where even though it’s a risk, they still do the trade because they know that player is gonna take them into contention. So for example, if your Presti, take your shot in going after Giannis.
bro got one of the deepest bags in the game. has a counter for everything and can get his shot off with incredible footwork/pacing/ and patience. Shai isnt even an explosive athlete it feels like he beats defenders with his mind sometimes shit is wild
SGA is trying to get the defender to open up. Once he gets a shoulder into the defenders' chest/hip, he steps back or stops on a dime 90% of the time. This is usually around the freethrow line/ mid range. Defenders have to play him straight up and not allow him to do his spin move, as he often does in this scenario. The better defenders like Marcus Smart, KCP, etc try to play him straight up because of the scouting report. Slower defenders know to play him striaght up except they're too far, he's pulling up for the 3 easy jumper. In the clutch though, this is the other 10%. he's turning the defenders hips and getting to the rim no matter what, not as many step backs. You can see this against the Wizards and on Jaylon Brown, despite him being there every time in somewhat good position. I think these are the things SGA looks for to get his buckets. His balance, poise, pace and his sneaky off-ball hand+foot work are what makes him successful in almost every scenario. Unguardable.
This is quality content right here, I've been studying his game since he was a clipper, I never thought he'd be were he is today but his game is so fundamental, I wish he played for the wizards no cap.
He seems to have the skill to be a similar force on the court anytime he wants to. He has to carry a team in the playoffs in order to start getting that recognition though. His style of play and body of work on the court really reminds me of some all time greats aesthetics, respectfully , while I watch their highlights as well..
@@colemartin7320when Will ppl realize OKC was losing games on purpose to tank to where they at now😂😂I’ve seen Shai carry us then coach bench him and the bench just jacks up dumb shots for 3 years and this is coming from a half quarter season ticket holder. There’s no doubt shai can carry but this time around he has great backup verses 2 years ago
Fuck no, that's wild. DB is already like Kobe, Shai is good but he's not on that level, don't even know if I'll say he better then Foxx & Foxx can barely get pass 18 points a lot
It’s a bit choppy but absolutely fluid. Very Interesting duality. I don’t like comparing players but im going to compare anyway. Kobe+Lou Will+Tyreke =SGA
bruh y compare to Kyrie... Shai is choppy cus like look at him, you don't expect it at all hes so smooth and unorthodox at the same time making him probably the hardest player to guard in isolation along with players like Luka and Kyrie himself
he loses defenders so easily, the way he just bodies up on them and then bounces off for an elbow shot. it's classic old school.... he doesn't even need to dunk.
Lol tbf Shai has good measurements. Also he is one of those dudes who’s learned to weaponize pace. (Luka is an excellently example as well of this). Guys like that do this to everyone. Herb Jones guards Shai excellently, but even he still gets beat at times
Im realizing a pattern, whenever Shai gets an iso, he completely zones in on scoring in that iso. hes missing a decent amount of open passes in these clips but he is scoring at least
@@ratcomedy ye nah Shai is my favorite player and ik for a fact he's more than capable on scoring on anyone but like he jus don't even look to find his tm8 unless he gotta reset 😂
@@lookatthemoon777 I dont ik what I'm watching buddy but is his entire career an isolated film? No, and thats what I'm getting att cus in game he misses passes even tho he scores
@@josiahmitchell4424 So why are you looking for passes while watching a iso highlight reel? Its not showing full game highlights or highlights of anyone else. ITS AN SGA ISO HIGHILIGHT VIDEO. You're not going to see anyone else scoring. You wanna see his passes? Search up best SGA assists and there you go.
SGA has numerous ways to 3point, middle jumper, drive-in, and passing game. It's almost impossible to defend him without foul. Even SGA's defense game feels like lockdown to opponent.
