I'm a dental hygienist. Please be careful with any charcoal toothpastes. I always caution my patients about it because it is very abrasive; can over time damage your enamel causing sensitivity and can be harmful to your gums. ❤ On another note, I have used the deluxe and full size of the tarte tubing mascara. Although there is a minor difference, I'm still happy with with it. I have to say, though, that I prefer the thrive one over it.
Thank you for the input on charcoal toothpaste! I bought a tube to try since it seemed to be all the rage and I hated the taste immediately and it's even worse to have black goop in the sink vs the minty green or white globs. I decided that I'll never buy it again, but I at least want to finish it. It doesn't even make my mouth feel clean. It's horrible and now I know how abrasive it is! Thank you LindsayLou!
@@laurieclarkson9180 You're so welcome! Toothpaste plays a huge role in our oral health which is linked to our overall health. It's important to know what should and shouldn't be trusted. 😊
I was very disappointed by the tower 28 mascara! 😬 I bought it at the peak of its popularity, and it totally left flakes under my eyes by the end of the day. I kept using it because I wanted to understand the hype. Never understood it. My little sister had a similar experience! I’m never going back. For some reason it felt like it dried out quickly and was just okay upon application. I’m sticking with my Maybelline sensational mascara! That one gives me the look you get with the tower 28 mascara! (And is a fraction of the price)!
I got a small sample or point perk with a Sephora order, and it seemed completely dried out upon opening it. I don’t want to waste money by trying the full size if it might be the same way.
Isn’t it so weird how makeup can work on people so differently? It doesn’t flake on me so far. (Knock on wood) because I plan on wearing it to the family Thanksgiving 😂😂. It was a splurge for me so I probably won’t be purchasing it again. There are so many great and affordable drugstore mascaras out there now.
I didn’t like it either and found it also smudged. I also get a lot of mascara on my lid close to the lash line when applying and usually just lightly rub it off with a q tip and of course, that’s where the mascara stays put lol. To me, if it’s not pretty perfect and easy to deal with I won’t spend 20$ on a mascara!
The best product I've found for my dry heels that also doubles as a cuticle cream is Kerasal! I've loved it for my feet for years but had a manicurist tell me to use it on my cuticles and its better than any cuticle oil I've come across. They have a new lavender&chamomile scented tube i use at night
I love u Jessica… “my breath has never smelled worse” 😂 Ur a breath of fresh air compared to all the fake influencers out there. I’ll always trust u! ❤
The Ordinary Lash Serum is amazing. I've been using it for a year or so and I've seen serious lash growth. I have pretty long and thick lashes at baseline, but now I only need one coat of mascara to look like I'm wearing false lashes. So affordable and doesn't irritate my eyes!
I was using the grande lash serum for a while and it started irritating my eyes, so I had to stop using it. Shortly after- a lot of my lashes feel out and I had really fragile new growth. I started using the ordinary one a couple weeks ago and can already tell a difference! Only time will tell, but I hope it continues to work for me.
I agree! I've had some medical issues that led to loss of eyelashes and eyebrows. The Ordinary lash & brow serum has really helped. I haven't experienced any stinging from it, even when I accidentally stab myself in the eye. Plus, the Ordinary is so affordable.
I’m pretty sure the healthy feet and healthy hands (green container) have the exact same ingredients so if your store doesn’t have the feet one, grab the hand one. And Jess is right, the squeeze tube is NOTHING like the container. Great recommendation!! 🫶🏻🫶🏻🫶🏻
I LOVE the Tartelette tubing mascara. Through the years this is the best in my opinion. I don’t care for the tower 28. It’s just so so to me. Thanks for sharing.
I love Aveeno body wash with lavender, camomile and ylang-ylang! It smells heavenly and even though I have oily skin, it works wonders, it doesn't leave a film, and it really calms my skin!
Hey ! I apply oil on my cuticles, and it only takes me 1 minute max. 1. I put few drops of oil on the back of my hand. 2. Fast tap of oil on every nail. 3. Then I brush my nails with nailbrush. If my hands are left too oily, I use my regular hand cream. And done ! This way my nails and cuticles get oil they need + cuticles get a massage. And it really takes only a minute of my time.
Cuticle oil has such a phenomenal ROI on the cuticles and nails! My nails get smoother and stronger when I use it consistently. Especially as you get older.
because you asked about a peptide serum; "lash cocaine" from svenja walberg (my all-time favourite lash-serum) just came out with a new formula updated version with peptides. i can HIGHLY recommend it and you should be able to order it online big love and thanks for the video
I swear by the Grande Lash serum. It actually works and makes my lashes long and fluttery. There are others out there, but they haven’t worked like the Grande Lash serum for me, so I’ll stick with it
The Dime eyelash boost serum has completely changed my lashes. So much longer and fuller and it’s life changing! I’ve been using it for years!! Clean too!
I love how the tower28 mascara looks on my lashes initially, but I have relatively long lashes, and without fail, I will have a little bit of flaking and a little bit of smudging by the end of the day, which is really surprising for a tubing mascara. I love how fluffy and, soft but voluminous my lashes look, but the only mascara that I can 100% rely on is the Thrive Causemetics tubing mascara.
I've never tried the O'Keefe foot cream, but I swear by the hand cream and lip balm. Years ago when I was in the food industry and had to wash my hands 100x a day it was the only thing that helped with cracked, bleeding hands. And the lipbalm! Amazing!
I've been wearing make-up since I was a teenager back in the 80s - I'll give you a minute to do math. I've only been using mascara for the last 3-4 years as my lashes thin. I wear glasses so I need something that will curl. I love the Tower 28 one and am excited to try the brown. You should know, the other day I poked myself in the eye with it and thought of you. It was quite the clean-up process.
I recently started using the GrandeBROW 2-In-1 Tinted Brow Gel + Brow Enhancing Serum, I highly recommend it if you have lighter thinner brows. I've only been using it for about two weeks, and my brows are thicker, darker, and aren't as untamed. I also don't have to fill them in anymore or gel them down!!
Love the GrandeBROW and Lash serum! Four weeks and I look like I have false lashes...I also tried the Ordinary, however I didn't see the results. Love the Color Pop Level Up Mascara! Very underrated in my opinion. Works like a gem. Tried ALL the high priced foundations at Sephora. Returned them all and ended up with Kosas. OMG so perfect in providing a flawless, stay all day, doesn't get in my fine lines....just LOVE. Natasha Denona Concealer, Chef's Kiss. Second choice, the Tower 28 Concealer. DHC Cleansing Oil...perfection for first cleanse to get all makeup off. Then the second Cleanser Jessica mentioned Byoma! Works so well. I have been slugging my skin at night and I am amazed at the results. Fine lines and crows feet disappearing. Highly recommend. I use Aquaphor to seal the deal. 60 yrs old and get called out for my late 40s. Just a few shares❤ Happy Thanksgiving to All! Thanks Jessica❤
I tried the Tower 28 mascara and loved how well it separated my lashes, but it started drying out and clumping after the first 2 or 3 times I opened it! The wand has all tiny clumps in the bristles, so I have to really rub it off on the sides of the tube to not get clumpy lashes.
This was my exact experience as well! I also find it flakes and smudges on me. Wasn’t really understanding how everyone was hyping it so much. I DO love the Caliray come hell or high water mascara-it’s a tubing mascara and really doesn’t move on my watery eyes, and it’s easy to get a separated look without clumps (I have small eyes so a lot of times brushes are way too big or deposit too much product!)
Ugh same, I hated it too! was so bummed but it gives me the worst raccoon smudge eyes ever. And it's not cheap. Going to have to toss it cause its literally not wearable for me.
I like the Sephora liners (I bought 3 colours) but they definitely transfer to me lower lid 🤷♀️ not a dealbreaker for me because I have very watery eyes and I have yet to find a liner that doesn’t transfer, but the pro of the Sephora one is that, despite transferring, the liner doesn’t budge from where I apply it! I also like how emollient they are; I often find that eye liners feel hard if they’re waterproof. So…they transfer for me but I still really enjoy them 😅
Ok I bought it bc of you. I paused this video and went to the Tatcha site and they have a great sale rn. I bought the pair of full sized dewy skin cream and the indigo overnight repair with free gift with 25% off. The total w tax came to like $88😳 w free shipping too. Wow that’s almost like getting one for free I couldn’t believe it. So that’s going to be a lil Xmas gift to myself. I can’t wait to try them I’ve heard nothing but great reviews abt both especially from you. I swear you make me buy everything and I’m always happy. Happy Thanksgiving Jess🍁❤
Oh yes. I agree on that L’Oréal telescopic mascara. I gave it a try and it makes my lashes look alive. 😊I feel awake in the morning. I normally use Chanel le Volume and I love ❤that as well.
So Jess -- of course if coloring your hair makes you happy and the damage doesn't bother you -- of course do color it. But maaaan, your natural hair color is GORGEOUS and silver strands are ALSO gorgeous highlights! I stopped coloring the grays about 7 years ago and I get so many compliments on my platinum hair -- whereas I never got compliments when I colored my hair. Anyway, that's my unsolicated 4 cents. LOL. XOXO!
I always use the same mascara "clio kill lash" it is the ONLY mascara that will hold a curl on me. I have spent so many $$$$ on non waterproof, but I don't bother anymore.
I love Tower 28 mascara, I have purchased it 5 times, BECAUSE, it absolutely doesn’t bother my eyes. I didn’t realize how much other mascara’s irritated my eyes until I used Tower 28. It’s all I use now.
O.M.G!! I hated that Hello toothpaste too!! My teeth never felt clean nor did my breath! And last fall I purchased my first Kayali perfume and I also didn't think the smell held up. It dissipated shortly after I put it on. Thanks for such great content!!
I started prioritizing and upgrading my hair care since I do get my colored a lot. I use pureology strength cure and the hydrating and switch off between those and redkin ABC. I also lovvve pureology 21 benefits and Kenra blow dry spray.
I didn’t like the Tower 28 mascara at first because I was used to wearing the Essence Princess mascara which gives a lot of volume to the lashes and then I would top that with the Essence volume stylist mascara which gave me a lot of lengthening. I swear it made me look like I was wearing fake lashes especially if I tight lined my eyes first. When I put on the Tower 28 I just didn’t get the hype but once I accepted it for what it was (which is just more of a light lengthening mascara) I now love it!! It’s a great day time mascara. Plus, you can never judge a mascara the first time you wear it. You need to try it at least three times before deciding if it’s a dud or not. I wear my Tower 28 mascara all of the time now ❤❤❤.
The grande lash serum totally ruined my skin near my lashes. I never had an issue with revitalash, and was hoping that I would have the same experience especially since grande lash is much less expensive. I'm back with the revitalash, my lashes are back to being long and no skin irritation. To be fair, my friend uses the grande lash serum and has no issues.
Disclaimer I use a lash serum ( babe lash) which I feel helps a lot. I really loved the tower 28 so much. What I look for is lengthening and separation. Works beautifully! (60 yr old for reference 🎉)
I really love the Tree Hut shave oils- picked up my first one after seeing one of your videos and haven't gone back to a foam shaving cream. My daughter ran into Ulta for me to pick up the Candy Cane scent oil and she grabbed one in Sparkling Sugar for us also.
Commenting on the grande lash serum- it 100% works but I just found out it contains prostaglandins which a lot of those last serums use- medical grade ones and babe lash is another popular one along with grande lash. It's a known side effect that it will dissolve the fat underneath your eyes so your eyes become sunken in and you have to get filler. So that's why I'm switching to a peptide last serum and hopefully I get the same lengthening results without the side effects.
💄 Cover Girl Wine-O-Clock, R&Co Made For TV Conditioner - not so much the Shampoo, Sandwich Bros Pita Melts ( I have tried several: Egg and Cheese, Chicken, Spicy Chicken and Pepperoni.) Temu
I've noticed that mascara wands with plastic bristles seem lighter in the hand than traditional dense and bushy wands. I feel the lack of "heft" contributes to the eye poking...especially if I've been using a bushy wand for a few weeks and then switch back to plastic. 😉
Had the same experience with Tartlette mascara. I let it sit and then decided I was going to just use it up. Then it got good. It needs to sit after opening and then get used a couple weeks to get good.
I’ve been using Kevin Murphy products exclusively for like 8 years now. Nothing compares. Not sure where you get your hair done, but Kiss Kiss Bang Bang (Carmel and Fishers) has a liter sale every January and July. I buy a liter of shampoo and conditioner 2x a year and it lasts the whole time.
I noticed they changed the locking mechanism on the Eva NYC and that’s when I saw the leaking. I did what you did, take the old sprayer nozzle and put it on a new bottle
Sally's Beauty has a bond repair line that is around $10 a bottle. The line is huge. I have tried the shampoo, conditioner and the pretreatment, I think that's what they call it. You use it before shampoo. Anyway it is really good and affordable. Also you might like the Briogeo repair mask, since you have hair on the dry side. Brad Mondo has some great hair care as well that I really like.
Jessica have you tried the Dove dry shampoo in the fresh coconut scent? It’s really good in my opinion and it doesn’t leave a heavy texture feel to your hair.
I still adore the Tarte Tubing Mascara!! I tried it based off your initial recommendation. It just so happens that I only buy the mini mascara 😅 I'm on my fifth one. Haven't tried a different mascara since your initial recommendation. Prior to that I was using the Thrive mascara.
I put on my L’loreal Telecopic Lift mascara on top of my go to mascara and I noticed that I do not stab myself in the eye anymore. There is an ease when doing this step first. My eyelashes also look more fantastic! My go to mascara for years has been the L’loreal Voluminous mascara.
The Tower 28 is also my fave! It's just so effortless and don't have to think twice about it. That and the Covergirl Exhibitionist. Ride or die mascaras! 🩷
I was super disappointed in the tower 28 mascara! It wasn’t volumizing on me at all and it was SO hard to get off. Even with remover balms and oil I felt like it damaged my lashes the longer I used it the worse it got! Went right back to my ilia
I think this is the video you mentioned the cuticle oil in…I got some applicators on Amazon (if you look up cuticle oil pen) and was able to fill quite a few with the big bottle of that cuticle oil. Having one by my desk, by the couch, by my bed, etc reminds me to put it on!
I have the Tower 28 mascara and sadly it makes my lashes flop and doesn’t hold a curl at all. Now that it’s older maybe it’s dried out a little I should try it again?😊
Same here! I love the separation it gives. But it doesn’t hold a curl at all! I even tried finishing with my tried and true L’Oréal Lash Paradise, but it didn’t help perk my lashes back up.
I loved the way tower 28 mascara made my lashes look but I felt like it dried out to the point it was unusable way sooner than any other mascara I ever tried.
The tower 28 doesn’t smudge on me, but it only semi hold a curl. I have VERY straight lashes and need to curl them to the heavens. But so many mascaras undo the work. Tower 28 isn’t the worst, like I said it weighs them down about half the amount most do, but drugstore waterproof mascaras like maybelline lash sensational work so much better and they’re half the price. I’ve ordered some Korean and Japanese mascaras that are even cheaper to try and I’m excited!
I adore the Color Wow Hairspray. It doesn't make my hair sticky, brushes out easily. I find so many make my hair extra greasy. I repurchased it 3 times too. I have thick wavy-curly hair. I really don't like Tresseme Hairsprays.
I think the best mascara I’ve ever tried (besides the Thrive) is the Benefit Fan Fest. But man, oh man, it is tough to remove.😅 And I LOVE the lash serum by The Ordinary.
I tried the tower 28 as well and I hated it! I bought it a few weeks ago. I absolutely love the too faced tubing mascara I keep buying it and nothing compares for me.
Yes, the nozzle on the Eva NYC spray bottle leaks! Every time now, I’ve gone through more than one. I got the large bottle from Costco and am hoping that one won’t leak and can be refilled.
@@ericaj85 I haven’t broken into the new Costco package yet. All I can say is it has the old style locking mechanism instead of the new “button” style lock. I have a couple of bottles to use up before I can say. It’s what I use daily for myself and my daughter, so we have a stockpile. As a last resort, I’d also suggest finding a spray bottle you already like or buying an empty one and giving that a try.
I tried that DHC oil on your recommendation and LOVE IT, Jess! thanks! Don't know if I will ever like anything better, other than the Tatcha cleansing oil - which I adore but is sooooo pricey.
