Never ever ever under any circumstances eat red mushrooms on their own. They're poisonous when eaten raw and do basically nothing for hunger if eaten cooked. They are better used as vegetable items in crock pots or to poison werepigs, beargers or whatever other creatures can eat them.
if you feed 3 of any health-damaging foods to a pig, it turns to a were-version chester's eyebone spawns generally near a road-loop fed mosquitos drop a sack with 100% chance
you can use 4 farmplots with tilted soil to stop tentackles to spawn too close to you when you summon them instead grass walls if my math is correct it is cheaper
Ok, here is a tip you can freely steal this time, as I discovered this one myself: When food is left on the ground, it gains a penalty for spoilage, making it rot faster. This also applies to the giant crops, so those will always spoil faster, because they are almost always on the ground. However, there is a way you can stop that: by dipping them into the ocean using the Pinchin' Winch. This removes the on the ground penalty, making the giant crops in the water will last longer. Unless they fixed this since I last checked.
hey james, as a person that has been watching your channel for about a couple of years i just wanna say i appreciate the work you put in your videos, they truly give me joy
The conspicuious chest tip was mostly correct, they just worded it weirdly. Here's a simpler way to put it: the chest always spawns in one of the three evergreen forests. It's either the moonstoone forest, or the mandrake forest, or in the pig village forest with a small swamp. The first two forests are guaranteed to spawn and the pig village forest biome is optional (means it doesn't always generate in every map). If it does generate, more often than not the Terrarium is going to be there. If you check all your attempts to find it in the video, every time you said "no" it still matches the criteria "it's in one of evergreen forests", you just had trouble identifying that the place you found it at belongs to one of those three biomes. Thanks for all of your vids, they are amazing!
You can pre-craft most of the structures to save inventory space. In single player adventure mode, you can do this to carry over more material than the 4 slots the portal allows you such as crafting a Pig House so you have a ham bat and a helmet in the next world without the need of carrying pig skin. And of course, you can just keep structures pre-crafted such as the Alchemy Engine/Crock Pot for one of the harder chapters.
if you set up a boat somewhat early, you might as well travel to the moon quay island. you can hammer the debris around the portal for free gears, and if you shovel the banana bushes, you can make banana pops or banana shakes, both of which are exellent for sanity. better yet, monkeys dont come out durning winter!
Question: How do I find the bloody thing? Is there some sort of technique you use? It's nowhere near as practical to find as the lunar island earlygame
treeguard tip: you can get the to spawn faster by killing the elderly. dead trees fall in a single swing of an axe and with 100 uses and a 1% chance per treeguard youll (probably) get one
WX: MAXWELL, BE REASONABLE. THIS IS FOR RESEARCH. I REQUIRE HORRID LOGS WITH HORRID FACES. Maxwell: Will someone please reboot the confounded robot?! He's even more crazy than I was! I can't even summon my shadowslaves in peace!
you can dance with wendy to keep enraged abi close to you. very useful when genociding spoders, abi wont go after the nest. also if you let abi get hit first from a tentacle, it will never target you as long as abi is fighting it, so you can just rush in, no armor required
Wormwood mains: You can have an "Emotional Support Sapling" to easily gain Sanity. Since Saplings don't need to be fertilized, and digging up plants gives Wormwood -5 Sanity while planting them gives +10, you can repeatedly dig up and replant the same Sapling for a net +5 Sanity each time.
*Splitting off a Lunar Sapling for mental health reasons.* Wormwood: OW! This fine. *Psychologically tortures baby tree that grew from his arm.* This is a weird freaking game at times, and it keeps getting weirder. I love it! :D
Little weird tip For SOME REASON holding left click to perform a task (chopping a tree, mining rocks) makes the process SLIGHTLY FASTER as if you were to hold the spacebar
the alt f4 at the end reminded me of something. Back in the day when there was no don't starve together, I loved playing Don't Starve. I was a small child (not very good) and I discovered this cool feature to make yourself unkillable. Whenever I would die and realized there was no way to come back, simply pulling the power cord out would reset me back about 20 seconds to the latest save. Very intuitive I would say
here's a fun tip; you will need a watering can and a torch. If you burn a slurtle mound then the slurtles will come out, but if you extinguish it, they will go back in. Everytime this happens, a snurtle has a chance to spawn meaning that you can farm the snurtle armor so you don't have to take damage ever again. Very useful for ruins rushing.
This tip is a literal feature but it might not be very well known so I'll put it here anyway: by placing either a nightmare fuel or a blue gem in every chester slot, you can transform him to give him additional benefits on a full moon night. A shadow chester has 3 extra slots, while a snow chester has the spoilage protection of an ice box. Be warned though that food placed in a shadow chester spoils faster as if on the ground.
Even though killing Mactusk the old fashioned way is probably more time efficient, I've taken to securing my Tam and Walking Stick by trapping a single koalephant in a pen that contains that fat walrus' campsite. The family tusk will gladly pick a fight with the meaty pink colossus and promptly get trampled into the snow, allowing you to wander in and collect all the loot.
Another tip: you only need one flower at base. One flower spawns the same amount of butterflies as 50 flowers as long as there are no other flowers around ( maybe even offscreen )
Tip:you can use Bee Mines, Bundle 40 Bees and burn the bundle close to the Crab King or 16 Grumble Bees Spawned by the Power of the Pen for a Terribly Designed Boss Fight Made Easy,Beware the Geysers tho and freeze him with ice staffs if you're fighting close to him in personal
Here are few tips: 1)Eat many red mushrooms as possible at start (dont let your HP go below 1) this will allow you to eat other type of foods with %100 efficeny so that you can gain HP later on. it allows you to travel further distances. 2) if you are playing on public server pick all carrots and dig all mushrooms on ground after all server might get deleted 3)Blue mushroom is the most greatest food in game that you can never die while constantly eating it. 4) dig tree saplings for twigs 5)Distract other mobs to attack other mobs 6)hammer entire base before summer (less pain more gain) 7)Use Wes to make balloons so that it can lag the game 8)Always eat meatball 9)always hammer the suspicious traps (grasswall and wooden wall ) 10) in order to place more food in fridge use foods that are about spoil or use food that is less than others.
if ur tired of bats spilling out of the open cave you can put 2-4 pig houses wait for them to get for an early walk and shut their houses down with a big stone wall makeing them forever part of night watch keeping you less anoyed if you decide to leave next to the cave hole
There is a chance that werepigs can be stun-locked. A good way to differentiate them is to check whether it is stunned after the second hit (if it is, you can just hold f until it dies)
I kind of cheaty tip if you hate trying to find food If you have the mod that lets you see the stats of food, if you hold alt over a raw item a cooked version will spawn on a random part of the map. You can do this for infinity. If you find the spot then its good to remember its there when youre low on food but have 2 raw berries
Fun fact I seen with my own eyes while watching my brother play don't starve: So I was just chilling, watching my brother play and we found like a weird ritual thing for Charlie, *we think* if you hit one for the tables and go far from it, a shadow hand will Start following you until it goes away, there was also a creepy manaquinn with something you can wear, a bit long but intresting
Tips: 1. the items you need to survive are food source, weapon, armor, and a light source. 2 In the beginning avoid killing monsters you don't need too. 3. If your a begginer Willson is a good character. he has no down sides 4 don't leave fire by your base. 5 the hambat and baseball helmet are good items. 6 find and give trinkets to the pig king for gold. 7 A lantern 🏮 stans as a portable light source. 8 don't fight deer clause by your base, Or bye bye base... These tips may help you survive 🔽
Dries a drenched WX faster, healing them from the short-circuit debuff quicker. Also to those who waterballoon a WX, you will be hunted down by a malfunctioning bot until he starts to panic.
1:11 im on this guys discord server, as far as i know his favorite character is either Webber, Wigfrid or Wurt. And if i remember good i also saw his comment on terrarias site in some video about DST and Terraria crossover
Fun fact: You get a free copy of DST each major update if you own it! Basically, you can give one to each of your friends with a little patience EDIT: haha i'm a stupid fricking idiot apparently i never actually redeemed the gift
@@zixvirzjghamn737 pretty sure yeah I gave one to my alt a couple years ago and I have another one now. You can't stack them though, one at a time. ... Also they're restricted to several regions close to yours, so if you live in Kazakhstan and semd a gift to someone from US or vice versa, they can't redeem it. (semd, yes)
You ever wonder how if you do get a Wes that actually does stuff (Kill giants, solo ruins rush) that in real life he’s the most chiseled badass who does everything the harder way just because he felt like it? He’s probably got the Chad music playing in the bg every time he walks in the room
Unpleasant? I've summoned hundreds of birds as Wickerbottom, just to kill them... Getting what I want from a few bunnies wouldn't be unpleasant at all.
Another tip:You can fight misery toadstool without commands and here is how you do it: You will need:A bird trap, a friendly scarecrow, a bird cage and a oasis. Step 1:Catch a canary bird using the bird trap and friendly scarecrow in a oasis Step 2:Bring it to the caves Step 3:Trap it a bird cage and wait a while after some time the bird will start feel bad (only if toadstool is alive) Step 4:Release it near toadstool’s shroom and the bird will explode changing the shroom’s color Step 5:Fight misery toadstool
Tip to get a lot of gold in earlygame whit Wickerbottom:craft a shovel and lookout for the mosaic biome(which is very close to spawn)and just dig the graves that are on a biome that i call the graveyard(you can recognize it when you see a bunch of graves, some gold nuggets and some kind of atmosphere). Then look for the deciduous forest and sell all the trinkets you got whit the king pig to get +20 gold!(sometimes 40).
if you are not a fan of starcaller staffs, wickerbottom lux aeterna books or not planning to kill misery toadstool for lanterns to light up your megabase, lightbugs from lunar grotto is a perfect solution for that, just catch around 20 or more for future and drop them in your base. They won't fly away too much, so you have a reliable infinite light source before toadstool. Pretty nice if you ask me, especially when you can have 1 in your inventory and 3 around you for good free light that can be easily restored by feeding the lightbug, if you need to fight something, you can just put the lightbug in your backpack and drop it somewhere away, the 3 lightbugs orbiting around you will not fly away from backpack as well, so you can finish fighting and get your light source back, don't leave it for too long though, or the lightbug in your backpack will die.
Second attempt at this(because RU-vid auto-deleted my first comment) In case you make another of these, here's a tip: If you convert rabbits into beardlings with Maxwell's shadow sneak ability, they are guaranteed to drop nightmare fuel on death. Capture as many rabbits as you can, drop them in an enclosed pen and you can get a lot of nightmare fuel early on for only 5% durability of the codex umbra. Do kill them quickly though, or you will have to fight those shadow creatures anyway.
When someone cuts out a part of a word they were saying in a videon i always wonder. Did they really finish the word, said something completely diffrent just coz it would be funnier or stop in that exact place, just cutting the end?
You can make an easy leafmeat farm if you plant lureplants on a boat. Lureplants will not make eyeplants and you can easily collect that precious vegan meat.
Maybe already known tip: You pretty much only need one flower to make an entire colony of bees, so that’s like 6 honey for 10% off your net. Then multiply that on how many times you recollect it, die, revive, and recollect it again.
started my first run in dont starve (of all time) watching this video, purely cuz i wanted to be a webber main. hammered pig houses, fed one a lump of monster meat, watched the pigs fight some spiders (picked up webbers skull holy smokes?? 5% letsfuckinggo) waded through a swamp and killed a tentacle by accident (it whipped the pig i fed) so i got a tentacle spike, nearly died to hounds in the desert all for a single lump of gold, made the science machine, made a shovel, dug up a grave and buried the skull, got webber, and promptly died to a nearby rook. wewinthese boys
