Rochelle to the rescue. I watched this video when it came out. I bought the pattern a year ago. I was watching a fall 2024 trend video and saw vests and leopard. I think I need a leopard vest. Your videos are always encouraging
Excellent demonstration.Thank you soooo much The waist and hip measurement guide was soooo informative I wrote this in my sewing journal. You saved my day # newbie
My pleasure! I'm going to make it a separate video on how I go about doing it for a top/dress and for pants/shorts. That way you can always refer back to it.
@@lucyall1898 My absolute pleasure. I know many shy away from pants because of the fit, but honestly if you take your measurements and follow those steps you should be good. Thank you so much for watching
@@rochelle.handmade.designs I can’t wait you do the sew alongs so good and very well explained you are a very good teacher. As am more of a visual learner. The instructions mean nothing to me. I will only buying patterns if you have the sew alongs. 🤩🤩🤩
Gaynell, you know I like to get these sew along very educational and easy to follow so you do not get lost at all. Thank you as always for the support and watching.
Note: How to figure out the size to cut for waist and hips will be a separate video that I will post by tomorrow, same as you see in time stamp 1:04:34. This way you are able to continuously refer back to the video. I hope it help as I walk you through how I figure out what size to cut and get a good fit on pants/shorts/skirts. 😍
I just finished the vest and your sew along. Thank you so much. I followed your lead on sewing the fronts and backs. Would you believe my vest is too tight!! I don’t know why, but I wanted to lose some weight anyway, soooo…. Your directions are very clear.
I'm watching at 7:43 PM from Cleveland Ohio I did the same thing with the vest I' lined it and I it was too smallI didn't have enough room in the bust area so what I did was I added 3 inch strips to the front? And it came out fine. But next time l will enlarge the a pattern. 😊
I'm just wondering why would it still be off if it's reversible. I'm going to measure that pattern piece to be sure. I did something wrong... I'll figure it out and update.
Love your videos. Very helpful being somewhat of a newbie to sewing. For the lining the pattern is saying to cut the front piece on the fold. Does this make sense to you? Seems the back piece should be cut on the fold. Thanks again
How is the the little V split at the back finished? In the clip, you just say to stitch across, break the thread, and then stitch across the other side without going into the V area. When I turned it right side out, that area just had all raw edges. I tried flipping in back inside out and sewing along the Vs, but that pulled the lining out horribly when turned right side out again. I had to rip it all out, and since I'm using a satin lining, the fabric was completely shredded. I have to start over :(
You would attach the main fabric to the lining fabric, right sides together. You would sew using 5/8" seam allowance and pivot at the v, making sure you are still lined up with 5/8" seam allowance. Let me know if this make sense.
@@lisanegus9113 you would attach the two main side seams together right sides together and sew with the machine. Then do the same thing with he lining. I did not hand sew anything. I just did not show how to do the side seams at the very end of the video. My apologies, but it right side together on both the main and lining fabric. I hope that makes sense.
@@lisanegus9113 I apologize! I looked at the video and noticed that I left that clip out for some reason. Not sure how that was left out, but I'm glad you understood what I meant. 🙏🏽🙏🏽
How did you calculate 2.5 for seam allowance I’m brain dead # newbie I don’t understand the other mathematical equation how you got 2.5, but now I think I see it 5/8 for each side..front and back which total the seam allowance I circumference Jesus
