Congratulations on leaving the corporate grind. I was low level management at one of the big three and walked away 34 years ago. Our son had just turned 1 and I spent way too much time at work. I am over 70 now and admit that sometimes over the years wondered if I did the best for our family but now I certainly have no regrets. My older brother introduced me to Unimogs in the 50s. In the 60s My father was assigned a Willys Overland 4x4 because he was tasked with visiting car dealers in the southern half of Argentina so I like 4x4 from long ago. Good luck with your new ventures.

Major heart touching flashback! Had a ‘72 Travelall. Over 15 years it lived in Colorado, Washington and Alaska. Absolutely bulletproof. Only had to replace reverse solenoid and to prove how much I loved it, rebuilt/changed a starter in -20F. Look forward to seeing what you get up to.

I have a 71 International 1110. Power steering, brakes, A/C , Automatic , 392 , two tone gold/black, 2WD ... I am in the middle of freshening it up but I'm 73 and having trouble with shoulders and knees. I have 5 new tires on it, new shocks and flexible brake lines. I have the engine out and am putting a new Melling oil pump in it and new exhaust manifolds on it. New gasket set and stainless steel bolt kit. I intend to paint it International red when finished. I have the transmission out and just want a shop to check it out before I reinstall it. It has scratches on the right side of the bed that my wife scraped a gate post with and slight damage to the grille. Little rust here and there but only minor except the bed which is what you would expect. I've had it since the mid Seventies and it has a little over 100,000 miles on it. I will check the odo. It's in a climate controlled garage. I can get it out to take better pics of it but here is all I have right now. One is from Daytona in the late Seventies camped with the Pentons who brought us KTM motorcycles. My wife and friend are in the pic that I took. I've been offered $6,500 as it is but won't take less then $10,000. If anyone is interested, I'll part with it. It's only gonna get more valuable. Missing one beauty rim and has the line sheet taped to he back of the glove box from the factory.photos.google.com/photo/AF1QipOtNBIX8e-Ngui-BFvR-klx4fk-akZpyc-8jWDR photos.google.com/photo/AF1QipN3FeDzLCLOkKF8y_lnspuRfOhJyfLRRsYhznKJ photos.google.com/photo/AF1QipMQViiXu-y9C_mwpz2Ryp7CE61kJHmdG7a62_k1

Accidentally stumbled on to this channel. I have been a Binder nut my entire life. The first vehicle was a 1955 IH pickup. Beat up, rusty, smoked like a freight train, vice grips for a column shifter, and all of these years later I love it as much today as I did 49 years ago. I've owned and loved 5 Binders over my span. I miss tooling around in one.

Hey Ben my name is Rocco I'm from Connecticut I owned a 1972 international pickup it was my father's but we got hit in hit by a drunk driver no one was hurt the insurance company totaled it so I bought the truck for 200.00 back from the insurance company and me and my friend rebuilt everything on it body parts where available and I drove the truck for 5 years my first truck it had the 304 4 speed it orginally had no power steering but I put power steering in it out of a 1974 and the truck had a western plow that I rebuilt and fixed up . I also had a couple of scouts with the 345 motors alot more power than the 304 they had plows also I then had a dump truck with the 392 that truck would pull a house down very good trucks love your channel about trucks I grew up with thanks.

Okay Ben, pay is a multifaceted idea. Time with family pays off big-time. Hope you can find a stasis with the company, YT, and your family. I know so little about any of this stuff, but what I enjoy is a struggle, maybe a this went so perfect because of high experience levels, and the typical stuff from the presenter's perspective.

Back in 1977, when I worked at a local mall, the car dealerships in the area, put some of their 1975 models on display in the mall. Right by the store where I worked, International had a few trucks, one in particular caught my eye, it was a rear wheel drive, pick up, I fell in love with the low stance and smooth sided body. Never did pull the trigger and buy one, I just carry that moment around in my heart, gives me a warm feeling every time I think about it. Good that you are gathering up these classics, keep on, keeping on!

I am 72 years old and I grew up on a farm in Texas. My dad had an old international grain truck, I couldn’t tell you the year model but it was a six cylinder four-speed with a two speed axle but the two speed axle shifted with a stick. It was the only truck I ever saw in my life that the two speed shifted with a stick

I have a friend that has 6-8 International trucks sitting on his farm. He got one from Jackson Hole Wyoming street dept. He has my 67 3/4 ton. I had to part with it because I couldn't afford to keep it up. I drove it for 15 years and used it to start my firewood business on the side, because my job didn't pay that well. I loved that truck. I would love to restore it, but as a retired teacher, I still can't afford it. I wish they still made them. Great trucks.

Hey Ben, thanks for putting your work online. As a young kid we used to stay with my grandpa in the Ozarks. He was a farmer who became a WWII airplane mechanic overseas. When he got home from the war he farmed, ran a small rock quarry and sold rural real estate with my grandmother (like all farmers he did just about everything to keep everyone fed). They had a small fleet of deeply loves 60s-70s Scouts, Scout IIs, and trucks (not to mention IH OTR quarry trucks and farm tractors). I have incredibly fond memories of him tearing up and down those back country rollercoaster roads with a Scout full of grandkids. He'd chuckle as we'd get motion sick bellies. He died young and suddenly (in his late 50s) of cancer. My grandmother was overwhelmed trying to care for the farm and business. She sold the entire fleet of well loved IHs, partly because it hurt her heart driving them without him. We never could find the buyer or the trucks. But, some day soon, I'm going to find a 'driver' Scout II and tear around the Ozark hills with my kids. Thanks for keeping the memories alive. Best to you, the fam, and luck with the channel.

In 1971 I was taking an International Scout for a test drive. I was going to buy it. I was in the Air Force and drove it to the base to show it to my friends. They said you better check with the chief before you do anything. [I was a crash fire fighter]. I went to the office and had orders for Korea. I never got a Scout and regret it.

Through the camping trailer years Dad kept a Travelall with the 345 motor. I loved the things. It was one thing, besides my friend David's Mom's Chevy Wagon, that we could get everybody in at one time. LOL. My brother, with his first out of school job with what was known as Southern Bell back then, bought a Scout 4x4 with the half cab in that almost OD green color they used then. It got us to the deer stands and duck blinds and back. I got no complaints.

My first truck/vehicle was a 1962 IH Stepside, that my Dad had bought from a dealer who had got it from the Wyoming DOT. We lived in Cheyenne at the time, 1962- almost 1983......My second vehicle was a 1961 or 63 IH Scout, that the guy had thrown a Ford 289 in...and hadn't sealed the transmission to the motor, and all the fluid leaked out, and locked up the transmission. It was a sad day. The thing had 3 stick shifts, 1 for the gears, one for 2X4 or 4X4, and one was for Low range/High range.
