it's almost a bolt in, the v8 exhaust bolts up the converter flex is real close, but if you pull, check bolt pattern, on flex plate, you can use the small trans, but don't beat on it, from 6 to the 8 all I did is add two wires for the extra cylinders, you may have to move the cencers, from the 6 to the 8 it's a killer swap in the pre 97 old square body, ant they are lighter and they actually sell DROP spindles, most shorty headers work, no need for long tube unless your racing, I've done 2 so far, i have 2 more in the wings thinking of DROPPING a nasty 340 in one , with 4:56, big stall should go, try it they are fun stock because of the great bottom end tq. these are not rpm motors, but with heads and tweaking fun,
Donald Powers thanks for the info. My plan is to find a Dakota or Durango with a 5.9 in it and take the wiring and motor out. Build the motor and find a 5 speed to slap in it. Maybe put some edlebrock heads on it
