Brother you need to tape down the sides on that body. That Protoform Corvette body is too thin on the sides and they always open up like wings. Speaking of wings maybe more rudder less elevator.
Thanks for the input! So the wing is the same one on Spartan that's been over 150 many times. I think it was just the heavy wind it was going up against. Suspension setup is the same as well. Usually never run in this crazy wind
@@InnovationRC I'd also go as far as to say that you may be getting a high pressure zone building up in the wheel well. And some Porsche like aerodynamic trickery may be needed. You may want to get a good leaf blower and a slowmo camera to setup an impromptu wind tunnel and see what is flexing and moving around to identify areas that need to be stabilized. Like just the shear power of the air going near 130-150 is absolutely insane.
I ran that Corvette body and he's right, tape those sides because they like to flap and I had to get the nose as close as I could to the ground so it wouldn't do backflips. Wasn't my favorite speed run body.
Awesome build man! It was so fast and the throttle output was only 46.5 therefore I think this car is promising! Good luck man! Here’s a quick tip, I think you need silicone tubing on the shaft of the shocks this prevents the car from going down the same level as the front end and do a backflip maybe try that instead of the toe links on the shocks to the other shocks! The contrast between Spartan and Vision is that Spartan is lighter and the motor and the equipment in the car pushing it down will not interfere the back to go down as well as vision having double the weight contrast to Spartan. In a nutshell, it’s either wind got under it and down or it got pushed down as those links will not take it that well contrast to silicone nitro tubings!
I wouldn’t recommend locking out the suspension like you did you want there to have some to prevent the back shocks from going to far you can use Teflon tubing in the rear with stronger springs same with the front awesome video I’m excited to see more
@@InnovationRC Spring-rate is the measurement of how much force it takes to fully compress the spring. Calculate the down force that your wing produces at full speed, add approximately the weight of half of the vehicle(per quarter) and find/calibrate springs to match. From an engineering perspective it'd undoubtedly be beneficial to add some absorbency to such a rigid frame.
Wicked build...glad to see another of your videos 📹. Vision has alot of hp..130's no problem...gonna check them batteries out.. Awesome work as usual 👏 👌
Wow, awesome bro!! Amazing build!!...I don't know how I missed the notification for this video, I have been waiting for this build ever since the 1st mention of this build lol. Glad that she had minimal damage, I know how it is to finish a build & then wreck the car because they're magically attracted to telephone poles that are 50FT apart!!😂😂 Keep'm Fast Bro!! 😎👍
Glad to see you going after the 200 mph record. If anyone can do it it’s you. Build looks solid. I like your attention to detail. At those speeds aerodynamics plays as much a role as power. As shown by your crash. Possibly a bump or a stone allowed more air under the car and lifted the front end. Getting the batteries further forward for better weight distribution should help. Downforce helps but you sacrifice speed but you know that already. It’s a tricky trade off. Great job on the build.
Thank you! I appreciate that. It was super hot out that day so that's why the front tire chunked. Body never catches air it's setup correctly so air doesn't enter inside
I noticed one of the main problems with these speedruns is the body always acts as a parachute, wonder if it'd be beneficial to add wheelarches and body posts on the side of the bodies? Great run either way, and a beautiful car at that!
Your dog is great. You should check out the active rear and front wing. . your spoilers will pitch up and down pensing on your throttle response. That mod would be the cherry on top of this build.
Kind of looks exactly like my build to the t! Except I’m using a scorched twin motor mount. Scorched all the way. That Bec is quite a good idea. Nice work
It's been awhile. Good to see you back at speed runs. With the front suspension locked out your front tires are taking all the bumps on the road and not the shocks. Will have to see what happens with no wind. I hope no tire chunking out at speed. Locked out suspension is going to be interesting at speed. Only time will tell. I hope all goes well, Great road for speed runs NO TRAFFIC AT ALL!!!!!!
Thanks, never had an issues with locked front suspension on Spartan I think the tires just didn't hold. I run the same tires in Spartan as well so it was probably just a hiccup.
Front splitter must stick out from underneath the body and stick the body to the splitter with ductape. That with help keeping the nose down. Good luck dude!
We need a new name for "BEC". Like "RPC" Receiver Power Circuit. When you ad a separate receiver battery, the DC converter is no longer a Battery Eliminator Circuit.
I was looking at doing this for my limitless going with two hobbywing 1100kv motors I think it's a 1/5 size and two traxxas 8s vxl escs it's a bit pricey
That rear wing has a lot of drag and downforece. That is the reason you flipped only at 135. Shave that wing down or get a perfect pass wing. Sorry about that man. Good luck!
A BEC isn't a small ESC- it is merely supplying a regulated voltage to the rx/servo/etc. Just want to clarify that. Most ESC's have a built-in BEC, but a dedicated BEC is unable to perform functions of an ESC as far as controlling the motor.
Just a really windy day. Funny to say it was a lucky crash with that little damage. When are you heading out there for another attempt? Would like to join you.
Man such an enigma, too much downforce and you scrub speed, too little and it lifts. I think the front aero might need work since the rear you said is locked and wouldn’t have caused the front to lift.
I race RC cars too I have a fast one but not that fast you got a little bit more than me mine gets up and boogies I'll tell you that but not passage that
Ca t'apprendra à ne pas mettre de gaffer à l'avant du véhicule pour éviter toute entrée d'air entre le spoiler et la carrosserie !!! un conseil, même sur les côtés ça a son utilité...
Man I feel your pain absolutely a beautiful build buddy be proud👍👍! I did the same thing with my dual 1721's first pass on 8s they are insane! It sucks but we learn from every crash
I've seen a lot of people cutting their rears out of the bodies, acts like a parachute? I dont know the effectiveness at that high of speed, but my heart sank seeing that go airborn, would hate too see that hard work get destroyed
That's bananas on 6s. It looks like at the 9:50 mark a pieces of tire flew off into the grass as the car was about to pass by you. When that happened Newton's 3rd law came into effect pushing the car up into the air stream. I thought you were done building airplanes. lol. I hope to see her back out there soon!
