In an odd twist of fate the legion has grown to the point that there are telegram scam bots infesting the comments on every video we upload. Monkeys paw and all that. I am working diligently to try and purge as many as possible but it's a game of whack a mole unfortunately new accounts keep popping up. For your own safety please please please do not click on any telegram giveaways in the comments. Nothing of the sort is being run at the moment and if I was it would be explicitly mentioned in the video with detailed instructions. Stay safe friends
I've seen this happen on other channels I commented on. Thing is I'm a skeleton with a death wish and a bone to pick with braindead scams. I went the effort to get in contact for the give-away and threatened them to donate the winnings to a cause of three legit choices and "they" folded like a sofa-bed that's only ever opened when that cousin you hate comes to spend the night.
Terminus Decree: "If you open this, then all hope is lost. Disconnect the Golden Throne and let me draw my final breath. The Imperium will cease but it will reborn from it's ashes... ...also everything is Magnus' fault" Signed, Big
Considering he's a perpetual, this may actually work, his true death might trigger his respawn and return him in prime condition, just leaves the question if he'd respawn in time to restart the Imperium and astronomican which would collapse with his death
With how much his soul is fractured, how much worship he's getting, and how many psychers are sacrificed to him every day, he might become a chaos god.@@sentionno.4553
@@sentionno.4553 the thibg is he doesnt just keep the lighthouse running, he is also non stop keeping chaos gates around Terra closed so if he does die, u less literally every primarch thats loyal plusbtheir full legion plus all grey knights are on terra, itll just be overrun within seconds
I imagine the grey knights hearing about the doomslayer, and doing the imposible to recruit him, and try to use him as a weapon to fight chaos for the Imperium. Also, greetings from Chile.
@PsychoticFruitfly khorne loves his demons dying as much as he loves then killing. Blood is blood and khorne would absolutely love the doomslayer. Just ask tuska daemon-killer
Fine Isyander, fine, you have covered the one chapter of Space Marines I've been obsessed with since I heard their name whispered in the forbidden corners of the Imperium where no good Loyalist should ever dwell. I'll respect my end of this dark bargain and join the Patreon.
One of my favorite parts of the Grey Knight video game, is that this Ordo Malleus Inquisitor comes aboard the ship and they make a video call to the Grandmaster of the Swordbearers brotherhood, and the Grandmaster literally hangs up on the Inquisitor because she commanded him to do something. So we're getting a little bit of progress in the whole narrative of the Grey Knights just bring the lapdogs of the Inquisition.
to be fair, the inquisition isn't one big unified entity. The inquisitor wasn't sure the grey knights existed before she met them and her demanding he send more forces was, although 100% a thing she was allowed to do, a slight breach of etiquette. The only reason the chapter master even let her call was because other grey knights vouched the mission was important
Technically not a planet; Malcador moved Saturn's moon, Titan, into the warp for the fledgling Grey Knights to train and mature into a battle-ready chapter.
Ill only maake 1 correction. Malcador found 10 space marines to be chosen for the honor of being a grey knight. Gavriel loken and nathaniel garro both opted out of the final selection becuase they wanted to stay and fight at the siege of terra. Otherwise you guys are doing awesome job breaking down lore. Please carry on.
Fun fact the chapter paster of the minotaurs once gave a custodes pause because they didnt know if they could take out a fully kitted out chapter master of theirs
In the Watchers of the Throne series, some Grey knights team up with the Custodes and sisters. The presence of the sisters just turns off the psychic abilities of the knights. They’re still terrifying in melee, but just without their psychic wnhancemenrs
if I remember the story with the sister they thought they needed virgin blood to not get processed by a demon despite them being immune from both possession and corruption from chaos
My "favorite" thing about the grey knights is that they just now decided to make figures that show their true size just when they made primaris so now they still look to be the same size
I love the Grey Knights, and I love the way you guys do this info. Lots of data but in a nice, conversational manner. Wish you had more on their homeworld of Titan! One thing you missed that I think is hella cool: upon officially becoming a Grey Knight, each man is given a name that is _literally anathema_ to a particular demon. Like if you named a Knight Michael, his very name would be painful and repelling to a demon named Satan. Names and words have power, as you said about the words of banishment; so in a way, every single knight becomes the dedicated antithesis to a particular demon. So damn cool.
Really love the content! Found ya through the shorts, but I appreciate that the long form is here too! I've never played, but the 40k lore is so meaty. Thanks for the deep dives with charm!
For the squad of Grey Knights, let me correct it. It was not a squad of Grey Knights but rather a squad of Deathwing Terminators. *The best of the Dark Angel’s best*. And they fought a Dark Cells Warden Custodes (basically WH40k’s pocket version of the SCP foundation) and struggled *Immensely* The Warden cut through those Elite Deathwing terminators like butter, killing like 3-5 of them iirc, and they only won because the Librarian they had with them was *basically killing himself* with the amount of exertion he was committing to his warp spells to restrain the Custodes, just for a few seconds,in order to let another terminator let a missle fly and hit the banana boy. I can’t remember if they actually killed the Custodes or not but that’s basically how strong Custodes are. This was when the Dark Angels picked up a trace of Cypher’s location in the Dark Cells in the Imperial Palace, and sent unmarked Deathwing Terminators to try and get him. They damn near all died to that Warden and most likely would’ve if they hadn’t had that Librarian since Custodes only really have one weakness and it’s *extremely* strong psykers, which is why they have Sisters of Silence with them to negate any strong psykers. Reg psykers would probably just implode trying to stop a banana boy,and even one of the best Librarians the Deathwing had, damn near failed to keep the Custodes still.
Grey Knight-player here 🙌 But: about the latrine-bit: was surprised - when visiting - to learn of Seattle’s history with that whole thing… pretty crazy 😂
3:33 Bolter shells are generally referred to as being .75 caliber. That’s 19 millimeters, basically the dimensions of a 12 gauge shotgun shell. Its actually kind of funny how tiny a bolter round should technically be relative to a space marine.
You guys are doing great, nice long epps and targeted. Finished all of luetin and but can never go wrong with another channel :) had a great laugh on one of your other videos about the *REDACTED* where you just dont look it up as its horrible even for 40k. If you know you know :O -"Compassion is reserved for servants of the Emperor: aliens deserve only our scorn."
Ah yes the grey knights, the knights who've sacrificed sisters of battle to purge the blood god knorne with the holy blood of their loyal aforementioned sisters. Great writing...love to see. Heretic out
Isander you do such a great job encapsulating all of the fun and fascinating things about this hobby. Thanks for helping me remember why I got into this in the first place. Fun!
24:50 Here is something. there is actually one instance in which a grey knight was corrupted by chaos. The bastard had charged into the warp alone and vowed that if he ever returned then Slaanesh would be dead. he had made it into Slaanesh's realm of infinite temptations where any indulgence you can think of lies actively beckoning you to take it with entire worlds that perfectly cater to your every desire in a way that you would actually believe you had achieved it yourself. The bastard then proceeded to make his way through, ignoring every temptation and made his way to the palace of Slaanesh in which more temptations lied waiting. he went through until he found Slaanesh her/him/it self. He made an attempt to kill Slaanesh there and then. lets just talk about this real quick though, most would go insane an pledge eternal fealty at just the sight of a direct image of Slaanesh and yet we have this bastard who is so completely filled with righteous fury that he ignores that and goes for an attempt to kill anyways whilst being in her direct presence. After that we hit the singular moment that sealed his fate. Slaanesh had made an active movement and had transformed into the perfect picture of an innocent child. Think of the most innocent child you have ever seen, set that on the dial to be considered a 1, now turn the dial up to 12. Now as you would suspect from that mental image, the grey knight hesitated for half a second before attempting to continue his swing, but in that moment Slaanesh applied a directed presence at him that only managed to infiltrate his mind due to his momentary distraction. just before his blade cleaved of the child's head, he knelt down and swore eternal fealty as her knight. It took the chaos god that most heavily specializes in corruption actually being present and applying a not insignificant amount of active effort to corrupt a grey knight. shall I point out that Khorne merely standing up from his throne allowed his PROXY to cut a PLANET IN HALF WITH ONE SWING. So unless a grey knight finds themself face to face with Slaanesh out of all chaos gods after having to face every trial she has to throw at them to whittle away at their will, they are, for all intents and purposes incorruptible.
came here for the very entertaining grey knights lore, stayed to represent AUSTRALIA, the most 40k of all the countries 😎😎😎😎😎😎😎😎😎😎 first vid i've watched from you guys and it warranted a VERY fast subscribe! fantastic work lads! can't wait to binge all ur content
I always remember what Todd Howard said during the E3 immediately following Fallout 76's release "We gave you a hostile a wasteland where you can choose to do anything you want. Overwhelmingly, all of you chose to be kind to each other"
The interesting thing with the chaos gods is that they don't actually get any power from worship. Not in the traditional sense. Khorne doesn't care about people shouting "Blood for the blood god, skulls for the skull throne", he cares about violence, bloodshed, honor, duty and courage. That is what gives him power. Big E's mistake was not realizing that the only way to end the chaos gods, is ending every single living thing. Even more literally in Nurgle's case, since he's not just death, plague and stagnation, he's the entire circle of life. Life itself gives him power, and the sheer tenacity of life keeping on in the face of the tyranid invasion is likely one of the main reasons for his recent rise in power.
Yo, just found you guys out and I’m loving your content. I’ve been binging your stuff and it’s really good. Keep up the good work and continue the growth.
I really tossed around with adding this in but I was really worried it would get too off topic. Will definitely mention it in the inevitable Malcador or Magnus episode
A game where you terrorize as a demon for hours than the second half is a horror game where you are terrorized by a grey knight. So you know how powerful they feel.
valerian mentions this as he has a great respect for the grey knights as they saved his life from a blood thirster. he remarks\ What if it were they, not us, who most faithfully embodied His final legacy? You will never hear one of us say as much out loud, but that does not mean the suspicion does not exist. It skulks around the corridors of Hegemon like a foul odour, faint but hard to eradicate.
I’d like to see the Salamanders and Grey Knights get heated towards each other. Not actually fighting, but trying to achieve their objectives against each other. Salamanders trying to save people while on the other side of the city the Grey Knights are slaughtering anything with a pulse or horns.
To be fair, the more powerful a psyker is less effect a blank's aura has on them, Magnus being surrounded by sisters of silence was just slightly weakened, but a normal human psyker would go insane at the mere presence of an untrained blank.
The last part about Bananna boys and the gray knights. The emperor did state he was technically preparing for the human race to become more of a psychic race. It would make sense to make some psychic police to keep things in check while the banana boys rule. I think the inquisition muddy up that vision as they were also created as the same time as the gray knights. Obviously the black ships aren't enough and having enough sisters of silence isn't a option either. Not to mention we STILL don't know enough black stone to use it effectively for the emporium then yes psychic police lol.
One of the first warhammer books i read was a grey knight book where a member gets captured by a khornate champion dragged back to a deamon world and is forced to be his gladiator i highly recommend it
Not to be that guy or anything but, the recoil on a bolter isn't really bad because the weight of the gun absorbs most of the recoil with inertia. That's why they don't have stocks.
Officially a full sized bolter round is in .75 cal/19.1 mm or roughly the size of a bottle cap for a 2L bottle of coke. A human sized bolter is .50 cal aka Barrett 81 BMG
Big E: Psykers are all evil, we agreed on this. Magnus your entire chapter is stinky and if you do anything more than magic email you're grounded forever. Magnus: Time to do a rebellion! Big E: Crap. I guess I should make some psyker space marines then.
- That's fine. Nothing wrong with being a Guardsman. We are the wall. - Whoever told you a Bolt round is the size of a Monster can lied to you. Bolt rounds are canonically a .75 caliber gyrojet-assisted grenade round, so they're only three-quarters of an inch wide and about two inches long, shell-casing included. They are *not* large. Iskandar Kaon's big toe is larger than a Bolt round, and he's on the runty side for an Astartes. - Well, Malcador basically is the Primarchs' uncle. Emprah's best friend, they go way back, may as well be brothers...if the boys hadn't been warp-sharted across the galaxy while they were still babies, they would absolutely have grown up calling him Uncle Malcador. He'd be the cool uncle, though. Sure, he'd be all severe when Big E was around, but once Emps left the room, he'd kneel down and mutter "Nevermind these lessons - you wanna go see a neat nebula out by Macragge, maybe get milkshakes afterward?" and totally just teleport out there and hit up a Big Burger for shakes. - I like that. "Are you dangerously: angry, horny, contagious, or conniving? Get *PURGED,* scrub." - Interesting concept. You're an evil squish grunt *and the goddamn Paladin is coming.* He's killing everything. The only way you can maybe, maybe maybe win is by throwing enough of your dead selves at him that he trips. But not likely. I think society in general could benefit from this 'inverse power fantasy' format, where the implacable engine of righteous murder is hunting you down for the many crimes you have committed and there is *no* win condition. He *will* find you. And he will kill you. Probably teach a lot of people in business suits to start checking under their beds at night. - I'm trying to imagine a Grey Knight fastballing Angron upside the noggin with a Necron Pokéball. And I find this idea amuses me. X) - To be fair, in the event of the Imperium fracturing, the Inquisition would absolutely go hogwild with purging. It would be a return to Gogue Vandyre's Reign of Blood. They'd be seeing heretics everywhere and insist - *INSIST* - that *they* are the true Imperium and everybody outside Sol is a heretic and must be destroyed, Ultramar included. Granted, this would give the Black Templars, of whom there are *6623,* every opportunity to steamroll in and crusade the quizzies out of existence, because Helbrecht and Grimaldus haaate them for how they murdered the Celestial Lions over petty shit. And they'd win, too. Terra would be a smoking hole in the ground, but they'd win that fight. You don't angry up nearly 7000 of the most devoted power-armored psychopaths in the galaxy and not die horribly.
