Welcome back all! I know many have been waiting on this next Assassins ep but I bet you didn’t expect me to be able to crowbar in yet more time travel BS - yet.. here we are lol - thanks for all the support guys, youtube was having a weird issue this evening but I managed to fix it with that quick upload of a test vid - RU-vid is working on a wider fix I believe - - I will hopefully have an overview update on my various mini projects / 40K Armies as well as some small lore, then I have various bits to continue on with that have been in a mid-way progress til now. As always enjoyed it? Hit the Like.. Cheers Ya’ll.
3 things (in order of reference): 1. Could their massive braids of hair count/work as biomass for transformation? 2. Are their blades the same as the xenophase blades of the Deathwatch; as this seems fairly counterintuitive in their ability to kill necrons? 3. I wonder how big Luetin’s collection of Soroitas feet pics is?
Clicked at the speed of sound! Praise him upon holy Terra. This is probably my favourite series you've done after the Emperor one. Chaos is nice but not as perfectly planned out.
That’s probably because imperial assassins are (technically speaking, in some regards, at least to some degree partially) human and can be comprehended (ish) but chaos is, well... you know
@@mrginge143 honestly I can comprehend a unfairly treated guardsman that is scared of death to become a nurgle follower more than a trillion drug cocktail drinker that kills everyone, everywhere it goes, always without emotion or a guy that stands still for 3 weeks.
That end quote sums up the Imperiums so well! "In the Imperium of the 41st Millenium, your death will always have a face. The question is which face, friend or foe?"
The callidus are basically James Bond crossed with Ethan Hunt, in space and given drugs and sci-fi tech. If other assassins are precision tools designed to do one job extremely well, the callidus is the one you send when multiple different types of jobs needs to be done in the same mission.
There is nothing that gives me more joy than seeing a new 40K lore video by Luetin pop up in my notifications. These videos have been getting me through some tough times and I am eternally grateful to see more of em pop up when they do.
I wish you'll get to a happier place in your life soon then, if not already there. And i agree, luetin's musings on 40k are a relief from current day happenings for me!
You ever think you'll do a video covering the more minor Assassin temples that exist in 40k? Like the ones dedicated to investigating disturbances in time? Perhaps clump them all together into a single video depending on the amount of information available for them.
@@timmythetechpriest5177 it makes sense that connected to the ordo would be an clade temple dedicated to assissinating people through time, hitler as baby for example.
@@johnstockley6976 while it’s an interesting concept, I think the Ordo Chronos would likely not wanna mess around with freaky deaky time stuff, so would likely not allow any such Assassin Temple to be created. Assuming the Ordo still exists, of course
I'd say the trouble with time police, of any variety, is that they have to be supporters of the status quo... They can't want to change things because by their nature if they change something (or allow it to be changed) then paradoxes can occur You're never gonna see them go back and kill Hitler or stop MLK assassin because that might mean the Emperor never gets the idea to make the Imperium or something. About the most they might conceivably do (if a lone person manages to avoid having their conscience psycho-surgically removed) is extracting MLK at the moment before his death, replacing his body with a clone, and bringing him forward into M41 as after his "death" his timeline doesn't impact on the Weave of c20
I just read “Nemesis” about a month ago and it opened my eyes to the huuuuuge scope of potential assassins in the 40k universe. This is the perfect video!!
Good book. Only problem with it is that spear’s possession should be impossible. Not unless what happens to frauka from the ravenor series happesn to spear to then enable the possession. I just treat it as the exception that proves the rule.
Good news that was announced in December: a new novel is gonna be released soon (Assassinorum: Kingmaker). Written by Robert Rath (author of The Infinite and the Divine)
@sinwithagrin4243 they are all dispatched by the High Lords now, but in the early days after the Horus Heresy the clades chose their own targets, meaning it is possible the clades went after each other on purpose or accidently.
This makes me want to see a “assassination of the week” “season-long long-con” type tv show featuring a Callidus assassin infiltrating different targets over the course of a season as she gets closer to her final goal during the finale. Now I’m starting to crave “master of disguise”/“espionage genre”/“political intrigue/thriller” type shows/films.. any suggestions? :D
I know you hear this a lot, but you are amazing. I get chills sometimes listening to you talk about the imperium and its fears. Between 51:40 and 51:51 was just gold. Please keep up the good work!
Hey luetin, I have a question: do you ever intend to release these on podcast apps? I love listening to your videos, but having to keep my phone screen open and select every next one makes it a bit harder.
Hi Luetin09 am a fan of your 40K video from China and I viewed your channel on bilibili first, thank you for making all those 40K videos they are awesome! Can we have some updates in there as well? xD....I mean it is a little bit inconvenient to view for Chinese audiences, not everyone will build a VPS just for viewing 40k videos and speed is another worldly matter xD Thank you!! :D /love & faith
it'd be cool if there were an officio assassinorum temple dedicated to training assassins to kill tyranid norn queens and to infiltrate and destroy hive ships from the inside out.
@@unsmote1560 Is there like any source material that would suggest such infiltrations would remotely be plausible? Plus the Imperium doesn't really know where the hive ships are until basically the hive ships are already on top of a planet that is probably crippled if not out right taken over by genestealers
@@coletrain41 Culexus mixed with a eversor, since one can dampen the hivemind's reach and the other will inflict carnage even after death (thermonuclear bomb wired to their death)
@@CrossBreedTacoHD It has been, yes- the Inquisition War novel(s) feature a Callidus assassain by the name of Meh'Lindi. From Lexicanum: "Callidus Assassin Meh'Lindi had received experimental implants allowing her to use her polymorphine-induced shapeshifting skills to reshape her body to the form of a genestealer hybrid, and this had allowed her to infiltrate Genestealer cults, which were themselves in the process of infiltrating human worlds and societies" Its been a good many years since I last read the novels, but I believe she was mostly successful at duping the genestealer patriarch, but regardless it is apparently possible with some augmetics when they do shift.
Gotta say, a little bit disappointed that you didn't mention Meh'lindi at all in this video - you know, the first (and I think the best) portrayal of a Callidus assassin in 40k literature, even before Black Library was a thing ... ah well.
That moment where you see the new video from our Leader Luetin with less than 1k views. This is a beautiful day. Thank you Leutin for the amazing Lore Content always
Hey this is random but we’re you aware audible UK is significantly cheaper that Audible US? Like 11.99$ versus 23.50$ Edit: It easy to pick region and the books are all the same on the UK version maybe some different readers. For all you us guys out there over paying
Serious D; time to go start up a new trial in a new region lol This was seriously the thing keeping me from listening to the 40k novels I don’t have 54x 23.50$ to spend on 40k books even if it’s over time lol . I’m over in the us
Luetin you killed me when you mentioned the great and powerful DOGE. Glad you also listen to other people's episodes of lore. So is a collab coming in the future with Adeptus Ridiculous? Would love to listen you, Bricky, DK.
Just wanna say I straight up enjoy what you bring to the table (pun intended), I thoroughly enjoy watching your content and get excited when are new vids are released, thank you Luetin09.
The Officio Assassinorum videos are definitely my favourite mini-series. The sense of drama and depth you create really bring to life the grimdark. You have a gift Luetin and I'm grateful for it!
I heard a doctor say once we neither gain nor lose fat. The amount of fat is constant it just reshapes, condenses, or expands. Maybe this is the case in the transformation (doesn't make a ton of sense but it's sci-fi🤷
Are we going to get a 5th episode talking about the lesser known temples. I personally love the Vanus temple and need to hear them talked about in your style
My own interpretation of how polymorphine works is essentially an extremely powerful muscle relaxant combined with a bone softening compound as well as a megadose of adrenaline. From what little description there is of a Callidus using polymorphine it is as much an intense mental and physical effort on their part as it is the drug itself. I always assumed that was the major difference in their training compared to other temples. They had to learn to manipulate their own internal structure under the effects of polymorphine. It also lead to some unpleasant thoughts about failed trainees and what state they ended up in.
Loving the assassin series, Luetin09 you’re the best, hope you’re not burning out esp with the crackdown of GW, collected Orks as a kid and played dawn of war games but now have gotten back into 40k as an adult and large part because of you
WTF is going on!? Haven't thought about War Hammer since an uncle gave me a stack of White Dwarf magazines when I was a kid. I used to read the battle reports in the bath. Then I found these videos, and they are blowing my tiny little mind!! Tyranids!?! Jesus Christ!! At least I know that the Emperor is salvation, I shall prove myself to him by burning the heretic!!!
I like to draw the comparison between the callidus and the gene stealers, despite the race war still tends to stay the same. Both are agents of stealth and care, where they deviate in their methods the end goal is still the same. Completely collapsing any futile enemy effort and resistance.
Hey Luetin I doubt you'll see this but I'd like to ask for my own content creation purposes - do you script your videos, or do more of a list of points that you ad lib?
There was a Shapeshifter Assasin in the Audio Book i listened to. A collection of short Storys from the Heresy. The Assasin changed at some Point to the Form of a Custodes and the two Astartes fighting him said it was a Xenos Lifeform.
Hey I don’t know if you’ll see this but I just wanted to say thank you, your videos are absolutely fantastic and I not only listen to them while painting, I regularly put your videos on to fall asleep to, as I have trouble falling asleep without some sort of pleasant noise in the background. Keep it up 👍
I often use your videos to go to sleep. youre very comforting. Only exception might be the intro and outros, which are much louder than your voice. ...Thank you for your effort..very much
You _think_ it's a (almost certainly) female assassin, but between you and me, I bet it's Alpharius. 🤔 Edit: 39:32 Have C'taan always been able to shapeshift too?👀
I am new in 40k. I am learning through your great lore achieve. I found a conflict on your Tau video where you compared Tau's brain washing and deception to Imperium's straight forward attitude. Now on this video you are talking about the layers of lies over lies and muddy water that is the imperium.
I wonder if a Calidus assassin has been assassinated bc she so fully became the target and the Vindicare didn't know so killed the target not knowing it was the Calidus.
Tbf the assassin clades keep track of which missions are prosecuted so a Vindicare assassin likely wouldn't be deployed against a target who was also the mark of a Callidus infiltration... but knowing how Imperial bureaucracy works, it wouldn't be outside the realm of possibility xDD
In the body of your work, which is always of an impossibly high standard, this video was absolutely cracking! Almost an hour, and it positively flew by! Brilliant work, as always!
Great video as usual! Always loved the whole officio assassinorum concept. In a world of tangible gods, demons, superhumans, trillions of soldiers, etc etc some problems are managed by just a single exceptional individual doing his (often gruesome) job.
