It is perfectly possible that indeed the sons of malice love their God of hatred so much that they loayally disobey him to ensure his continued existence, doing what is best for him rather than what he would wish they do.

@Jordan Winders Not quite. Nurgle is the god of stagnant emotions, or emotions that can perpetuate themselves indefinitely. Bitterness, despair, sadness, joy, happiness, etc. Tzeentch is the god of hope, change, ambition, etc. Emotions that lead to the status quo being altered or the desire to alter, innovate and to be on top. Malice is the rejection of emotions, the empty void that comes from their suppression and alteration. It’s the denial of the gods from their desires, through which, they are starved.

I was always under the impression the reason behind Malal’s obscurity was due to being more of a rogue god compared to the big four who hate him due to him partly embodying anarchy EDIT: and if I’m going off Magnus’ descriptions on them, without Malal there would be no tenacity, no absolute freedom, no self-reliance, no chaos to challenge order and no contradictions

As all the chaos gods have a duality in nature, I believe Malice/Malal has the nature of freedom along with his destruction/anarchy/vengeance themes. Of course, what kind of freedom is that after all that destruction remains to be seen. This chaos god is really the chaos god of anti-bundle of sticks.

My current list for the canon information we have on the lost primarchs: - The Primarchs all had to ascend to the top of a tower while the Emperor psychically challenged and tested them before they could go out and fight in the great crusade. Perturabo states that “not all of his brothers had passed this test” and its possible that one or both of the missing primarchs failed the test. - Lorgar states while speaking with Magnus the Red that they had been commanded never to speak of two of their brothers again, almost as if Lorgar had known them or known of them before their disappearance from Imperial Archives. This means they were almost definitely found. - They were found before Alpharius/Omegon and Corax were located, although Alpharius and Omegon were found last. The Emperor promised to talk about them with both of them, though whether these conversations happened or not is unknown. - Upon meeting the Emperor, Vulkan is told that the Emperor will have to leave them all, meaning they aren't waiting somewhere for the Emperor. - Vulkan states how lucky it is that all of the brothers became lords, warriors, and heroes, so the two fallen certainly didn’t fall to chaos or die some stupid death. (This is particularly pertinent here) - Sanguinius mentions to Horus his fear of the Red Thirst condemning his legion, insinuating a possible removal of the two legions. - Dorn states that he wishes he could have the aid of two of his brothers but the Malcador states that Dorn knows this is impossible, although never states the specifics of why. This also leaves open the possibility that the two legions are involved in operational efforts elsewhere. - It is believed that members of the two missing legions filled out the Ultramarines, but this is just rumour among the astartes legions. - Guilliman leaves places for them at his table and the Lion states that he should know that the seats will never be filled. - Nine primarchs were present for the “forgetting” of at least one of the Lost Primarchs - Horus never calculates for them returning in his plans, so they’re clearly either preoccupied, likely to support him, or dead. - Each of the primarchs is essentially an aspect of the Emperor and of war. The most obvious missing aspect is The Emperor’s mad scientist/RND side so its possible one of the missing primarchs was the embodiment of this. The lacking of a naval focused primarch is also notable.

I think Maloce is the God of consciousness, freedom/anarchy, and choice. He hates Chaos, because unlike the other Chaos gods, he knows they are the bad-guys. He hates it, and wants to destroy the evil of Chaos, even if it destroys him as well.

@@thomaspurol9322 There's a theory that Malal was essentially "split" into Necoho, Zuvassin, and Malice, but if you take the theory that Malice is Malal with the labels filed off, then Necoho is part of Malice.

I was originally going to say that you might be onto something there.. then I noted that “The Sons of Malice very much consider themselves ‘Hunters’”, which is interesting, as The Dark Angels really, *really* hate Chaos, and have a slight obsession with, you know... ‘hunting’ it. And then I started on about how they are strongly associated with various ‘oddities’ that are definitely of The Warp, though maybe not of ‘Chaos’ per se... or maybe they are? And it turned into a whole thing... But suffice to say, you really might be onto something there... hm... very interesting, indeed...

Yea... This one's an easy rabbit hole to fall down, plenty of little things that could tie the Dark Angels to Malice, not as active worshipers but enough to distract you from the meal you're supposed to be cooking... Whoops... I ended up on a little witch hunt, I found witches... You're not supposed to find witches: 1) Malice's colours are black & white - The Order & First Legion wore black armour & bone white robes. 2) Malice's symbol is a skull - all Astartes use skull iconography. 3) the warp was strong enough on Caliban to twist wildlife into monstrous chimeras. 4) some sort of daemonic entity was on Caliban & spoke to important figures during the crusade resulting in the fallen. 5) current era Dark Angels still follow the imperial truth, thus anti religion which would give strength to Malice. 6) prominent DAs are accompanied by paranormal familiars that no one really knows anything about, they're just there (the watchers). IF Malice were cannon & the Watchers were his daemons, I wouldn't call the Dark Angels active worshipers of his, but they've got his attention... At the end of the day, these are nothing but non-canon conspiracy ramblings, fun to think of while lockdown cabin fever drives most of us insane, but a little too easy to lose sleep to if you get carried away.
